Originally, PixelJunk Shooter and Shooter 2 were made by our friends at Q-Games. As Q-Games are a very tech savvy developer (like us), Shooter was born from gameplay experimentations, using a very clever fluid simulation technology they had written. As the gameplay evolved, so did the story. Four years after Shooter’s first launch, we met the guys at Q-Games and — as fans — started talking about what this edition would be.
All of us here at Double Eleven are excited to announce that PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is coming to PS4 and PS Vita this Summer, and we can finally start to talk about it! PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is a twin-stick shooter that’s as much about blasting things as it is about exploration, puzzle solving, and collecting things. Within Shooter Ultimate, players interact with environments that run an advanced fluid dynamics simulation.
When we announced PixelJunk Monsters’ arrival on PS Vita in June, we were met with an amazing response from fans and the pres waiting with bated breath to see the tower defense classic come to life on PlayStation’s new handheld. Well, the wait is over and we now have an official release date!
Double Eleven, Ltd been entrusted with the keys to the kingdom for classic series such as LittleBigPlanet and Limbo. For us, PixelJunk Monsters sits alongside those hallowed classics. In designing PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD for PS Vita, we wanted to take the fabulous PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe and make it an even better experience. We worked closely with Q-Games to get it right, and then chose the name “Ultimate HD” at the end of development. We hope that’s what we have created!
