Our community team has one primary goal: to give Dungeon Defenders fans new and old the tools to make our game their own. From hosting their own events, to dictating the rules of ours, our fans know the game is just the beginning of the experience.

This is your event. You choose the map. You choose the modifier. We provide the possibilities. Team up with the community team and your fellow defenders to earn a staggering 50 million XP on a game mode you won’t find anywhere else. Want to turn off the gravity and fly away into the sunset? Then Low Gravity is the choice for you. Want enemy Ogres to rain from the sky, Kazaam-style? Vote for Raining Ogres. You can also ramp up the game speed, beef up the enemies or try your luck with a one-hit-kill crystal. The choice is up to you.

The event takes place next Thursday, February 21st from 12:00pm to 8:00pm EST. You must sign up for the event to participate. To sign up, post on this thread with your PSN ID and the time of day you’ll be available to join us. Sign-ups end February 19th at 11:59am EST. We’ll post a final list of participants in our Console Event Google Doc. We can’t guarantee that we’ll get to everyone, but we’ll try our hardest.

If you’re new to the game, our forum community is always willing to help new players learn the ropes. While you’re there, stop by the Trading section to barter gear, pets and weapons. If you need help with a map, our Guides section has a wide variety of map builds to choose from.

I take great pride in our community team’s effort to cultivate a positive community atmosphere. Since our launch in October 2011, people have made new friends, discovered significant others and opened their minds to new experiences, all within the realm of Dungeon Defenders. But a community team is nothing without great community members. If you’ve been a fan for a day or a year, thank you for making this job easy. Hello again Sony fans! Phillip Asher here from Trendy Entertainment with some of the best news you’ll hear all week – Dungeon Defenders is launching TODAY on the PlayStation Network! It’s been a long time coming, but we’re excited to finally be here and have our hard work on PSN for all of you to enjoy.

To commemorate today’s fantastic news, we wanted to give all of you a sneak peak at some of the awesome and EXCLUSIVE pets (or familiars) you can get simply by playing Dungeon Defenders with Playstation Plus.

Dungeon Defenders is a tower defense/action RPG/hack-and-slash hybrid that supports four player, drop-in/drop out co-op with persistent and fully customizable characters across four classes. And on top of all that , there are pets: unique and upgradeable familiars that follow you and assist you in your quest, either by attacking enemies, healing you, repairing your towers, granting you extra mana, or more!

Here are the exclusive Playstation Plus familiars:

Cowboy Monkey: Has dual-banana pistols that he shoots at close-range, and a sniper-banana rifle that he unleashes at far range, and wears the PS Plus logo on his hat (!)

Drakon the Dragon: A special dragon that has very good stats for its level, this critter will attack any nearby enemies with flame.

Naimi the Fairy: A special fairy that has very good stats for its level, she’ll heal you and nearby allies when you need it.

Cog the Robot: A special robot that has very good stats for its level, it’ll bash nearby enemies with a barrel-roll attack, knocking them back and doing serious damage.

How goes it, PlayStation fans? Hopefully you’re doing well, because all of us here at Trendy Entertainment are feeling awesome. It might have something to do with all the awesome cable TV that was on last night…or it might be because we can finally and officially announce our launch date for Dungeon Defenders on PSN. Ready…October 18th!

For those of you who might not know, Dungeon Defenders is a four-player co-operative Tower Defense action-RPG. You can create heroes from four distinct classes to defend the land of Etheria. Throughout your journey you can customize and level your heroes, forge equipment, gather epic amounts of loot, collect and raise pets, play through multiple difficulties, and more.

But that’s not all! Today we’re also debuting our next developer diary video. This third of the series goes into all the details one of the most important and most FUN parts of the game – the Combat phase. This is where your strategies, tower and trap placements, upgrades and approach (and those of up to three of your friends if you’re playing local or online co-op) will be tested by wave after wave of baddies that are hell-bent on destroying your Eternia Crystals. The Combat phase is not only about testing out your defenses, but also testing out your skill. That’s where the action-RPG part comes in. You’ll have to take on the enemies first hand, and be able to pick up all the sweet loot they drop as well.

Of course, you can still build, sell, repair and maintain your towers in the Combat phase. But unlike the Build phase, enemies can and will interrupt you as you work.

And all you PS3 folks are in for a real treat – the PSN version of Dungeon Defenders is the ONLY version to feature 3D and Playstation Move support!

We’re happy, excited and downright STOKED to be able to confirm our PS3 launch date today with the PlayStation.Blog – it has been one of our most-asked questions from fans since we announced the title over a year and a half ago. Or so says the “Spirit of Champions”, your tour guide in Dungeon Defenders, the new swords-and-sorcery action game coming to PSN this winter! Let me introduce you to the basics of what DunDef (as we affectionately call it) is all about. Inspired by the cooperative antics of Castle Crashers, along with the careful interplay of strategy and tactics in Defense of the Ancients, DunDef is a definitive genre hybrid: cooperative tower defense and online role-playing action bonanza!

Whether you’re playing locally (in one-to-four player split-screen) or online (which also supports split-screen), DunDef puts you in control of one of four unique Hero classes, tasked with defending your ‘Eternia Crystals’ against increasing waves of ‘toon-fantasy baddies.’ To achieve this you’ll upgrade your Hero’s statistics, develop unique new abilities, and collect & upgrade an arsenal of weapons & equipment, and even raise your own pets.

At any point you choose to, you can decimate the tide of creatures spewing forth from the ‘Creep Spawners” when building your defenses across the map. Unlike most tower defense games, however, you won’t just sit back and watch your defenses annihilate your foes. In DunDef, you jump directly into the action, and hack up tons of enemies with your beefed-up hero alongside your allies. Among the variety of enemy types (with their various attacks & behaviors), are huge mini and full on boss monsters arriving to support their cannon-fodder minions.

There’s lots more we’d love to tell you about, including the intricacies of each Hero class, the powerful upgrading system & the Mana Bank, and the various game modes including a campaign, survival and challenge missions. All in good time… for now, we should also mention that the game fully supports Sony’s awesome 3D TV (stereoscopic) technology, and the PlayStation Move for an immersive experience!
