EyePet & Friends is coming to your home later this year with double the magic and endless amounts of fun! Be prepared for living rooms across the country to be turned upside-down as not just one, but two lovable EyePets arrive on the scene.

We listened to the feedback from both users and critics alike, and aimed to continue innovating the EyePet experience in a number of areas. Because of our desire to create an even more immersive augmented reality experience, EyePet & Friends is a ground-up re-design that retains the very best of the original EyePet.

We’ve socialized the game, now with two players, two PlayStation Move controllers, two Pets and augmented reality. Raise two on your own or together with a friend, let them hatch together or see if you can handle just one of the mischievous fur balls first – the choice is yours, but don’t forget that two EyePets born together may form a stronger bond with each other.

Life with an EyePet is never dull! With the new EyePet online community, you can show off your pet’s adventures and Trophies online or sit back and relax as you connect with other EyePet owners, swapping tips and tricks on how to get the best out of your playful new family members.

There’s also a whole new world of customizable fun to be had: Need a new toy to keep your furry friend entertained or a new outfit for a special occasion? No problem! Head over to the Creativity Center where you’ll be able to expand the world you and your EyePets live in as you use your Move controller to create and customize your very own content.

However you decide to play, your efforts will be rewarded. Every moment spent nurturing; playing or completing challenges will earn you EyePet Tokens which you can use in the Pet Store to unlock exciting additional content!

If you think you have space for two new virtual furry friends, get ready for the arrival of EyePet & Friends, out later this year.

PlayStation Nation,

Last week we kicked off the new advertising campaign for PlayStation Move with Kevin Butler moving in with the Maguire family to demonstrate how PlayStation Move has something for every gamer in the household. I hope you’ve been able to catch the commercials on some of the season opening NFL games and college football games, as well as on tons of other premium programming.

Our next installment is aimed at the younger members of the family (the Maguire’s as well as yours). EyePet is being hailed by IGN as the “most exciting Move game” thanks to its introduction of augmented reality. Seeing yourself in the game interacting with your EyePet is a cool experience no matter what your age. And as Kevin Butler shows in this commercial, all of this obviously spells trouble for man’s best friend.

Because it’s aimed at kids and parents, this spot will be running across different channels than some of our previous ads. For those that missed its debut on Nickelodeon, you can also look out for it on networks like Nick Toons, Discovery, and Animal Planet.

You only have a few more days to wait until you can pick up your own PlayStation Move. We’ve been thrilled with the reaction and the early reviews. A recent review on WIRED stated that with PlayStation Move “your whole living room might become a videogame” and it’s games like EyePet that bring that vision to life.

We hope you enjoy it!

As you may know, we launched EyePet in Europe last year as a PlayStation Eye title. However, this year, we are very excited to finally introduce EyePet to North America, not to mention, as a PlayStation Move title!

We debuted EyePet and its Move compatibility recently at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, where the response has been tremendous. The marriage of augmented reality and the interactions between the EyePet and his owner, via the PlayStation Move, has been turning quite a few heads.

The PlayStation Move controller can be used in many ways throughout the game. You can engage in a variety of pet care activities like feeding, washing and styling your pet, as well as playing various games using toys such as a bubble wand, fish net or trampoline. You can also use the PlayStation Move controller to draw items on the screen that your pet can interact with, such as planes or cars.

I can go on and on, but would rather let EyePet’s creative director, Nicolas Doucet, do the talking. Check out the video above to learn about the evolution of the title and how it came to be, and with the introduction of the Move, how EyePet is more accurate and precise — which definitely means more fun!

Calling all EyePet fans! I’m here to deliver some great news! Some of you may be familiar with EyePet and have had the chance to play with it at various events last year. Well, we made some changes to the game and I am pleased to announce that EyePet is officially back on the calendar, and better than before. Available this Fall, the new version of EyePet will come complete with PlayStation Move support! Instead of using the EyePet Magic Card, players will now be able to interact with their new furry friend using the more intuitive and easy-to-hold PlayStation Move.

The PlayStation Move motion controller can be used in many ways throughout the game. For example, you can engage in a variety of pet care activities such as feeding, washing and styling. With the styling feature, you’ll be able to completely customize your pet such as modifying fur length, color and pattern, as well as outfitting your pet with over 250 unique costumes.

You can also use the motion controller to play various games with your pet. Namely, it allows toys to appear magically in your hands. For example, it could be a bubble wand, a fish net or a trampoline. Other games include bowling, tennis, treadmill and snap.

One of the coolest features of EyePet is the drawing feature where you can utilize the motion controller to create drawings on screen that will turn into 3D objects for your pet to play with.

EyePet brings a whole world of imagination out of the TV and into your living room.

As one of PlayStation’s newest offerings, EyePet allows players to have all the fun of owning a pet without the mess! Featuring next-generation augmented reality, EyePet is the first digital pet for the PS3, and is the perfect addition for any family! So isn’t it time you welcomed an EyePet into your life?

With the return of Ratchet & Clank later this month, the October episode of Qore features a loveable Lombax, a precious pet, reckless racing and wasteland wanderers.

Is Ratchet truly the last Lombax in this universe? Can he locate and rescue his buddy Clank? The storyline that began in 2007’s Tools of Destruction reaches an epic conclusion in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Veronica Belmont visits Insomniac Games to step into Ratchet’s shoes…err…actually, his gravity boots.

At this year’s E3, SCEA impressed the audience with a demonstration of the upcoming PS3 motion controller, but there is yet another innovation on the way: the EyePet! Audrey Cleo meets her new virtual pal and demonstrates how PS3 technology could change the way we interact with games in the future.

Bizarre Creations is returning to its roots to rev up the racing genre with imaginative power-ups, weapons, and a distinctive multiplayer component. We take BLUR for a test drive to see what sets it apart from the crowd.

What do you get when you blend the RPG and shooter genres, add intense co-op action and a groundbreaking content generation system, and coat it with a cell-shaded “concept art” style? You get Borderlands—the new title from Brothers in Arms developer Gearbox Software. Qore visits the Dallas, Texas studio to learn more about their unique creation.

To celebrate the release of Gran Turismo for the PSP, we’re offering all Qore subscribers and purchasers a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ’03 in an exclusive red color to download and use with the game on any PSP system. We’ve also got an exclusive Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time PS3 theme and an exclusive UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves PS3 theme for download.

Look for Episode 17 tomorrow.

Hi everyone! We have been talking about EyePet for quite some time now, and I’m happy to let everyone know that we now have a US release date for all you pet lovers who are anxious to get their hands-on EyePet. Just in time for the holidays, EyePet will be available in stores across North America beginning on November 17 for $39.99. For those of you who don’t have a PlayStation Eye, we will be offering a special bundle for $59.99, which will include EyePet and the PS Eye.

If you aren’t familiar with EyePet, it’s basically all the fun of owning a pet without the mess! Featuring next generation augmented reality, EyePet delivers an interactive lifelike, virtual pet right into your own living room using the PS Eye. He will respond and relate to movements in your own world. Pet him, and he will purr. Tickle him and he will laugh. Roll a ball to him and he will chase it. You get the point.

EyePet is also customizable, letting you modify fur length, color and pattern, as well as the ability to outfit your pet with more than 250 unique collectible items. Using the included “Magic Card,” owners can also bring drawings and objects to life by simply sketching things like an airplane or car, and make them your pet’s own three-dimensional toy.

Describing it is one thing. Seeing it is another. Please check out the video featuring Developer Nic Doucet giving a demonstration as to how EyePet works.

We’ll have more to come on EyePet between now and November. So make sure to check back with us here on the PSBlog.
