Andrey, Lead Programmer
Mood-o-meter. Seriously. I think it’s a great idea – it’s fresh, it’s interesting, it’s challenging. We even designed a special Trophy for it! :) The better you play, the nicer the characters are – they smile, encourage you, and when the mood-o-meter is full, they give you an awesome superbonus that destroys like 50% of the tiles on the screen. Sounds rather easy, but you really need to play like hell in order to destroy the tiles fast enough to make that girl smile.

Yana, Lead Artist
My personal favorites are the Extra modes. They’re pretty cool and rather addictive – I nearly missed my bus once staying in the office late playing Puzzle mode. It’s the one where you need to destroy all tiles with only a limited amount of shots. There’s 6 levels, each being harder than the previous. Really addictive. That’s what I like as a gamer. As a developer, I’m really proud of Time Machine’s visuals.

Andrey, Lead QA

Time Machine: Rogue Pilot was a great experience. It was my first project at Lesta Studio and I’m really proud of it. The thing I like most is… Well, I guess I like everything in this game. I’ve played it like a billion times testing it, and I still want it on my PS3.

That’s it for now, but be sure we’ll tell you more soon. Check out the demo for Time Machine: Rogue Pilot on PSN when and tell us what you think of the game – welcome to comments!

But a new video is not enough, is it? That’s why I’ll reveal some more details and cover two big questions with this blog post: what this game is and what it is not.

What Time Machine: Rogue Pilot IS

Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is a Match3/hidden-object game with a number of innovative features, including unique mechanics of repainting tiles instead of replacing them with each other. I know this sounds simple, but it helps bring a fresh feel to the classical match3 genre.

For example, the Mood-o-meter. Sounds weird, huh? The Mood-o-meter shows how your character feels. The better you play, and the more bonuses you activate, the faster your character’s mood increases. Once the Mood-o-meter is full, you get a Superbonus that destroys nearly all tiles on the screen.

We realize that Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is a puzzle game, not an open-world RPG, but we believe that a well-designed story gives every game a kind of a charisma, helping to make it unique and special. So we designed an simple but interesting story that guides you through the gameplay with nice graphic-novel-styled videos. Speaking of which, Time Machine: Rogue Pilot has some awesome visuals, but don’t take my word for it – check out the screenshots and see for yourself!

Time Machine: Rogue Pilot also packs in quite a few missions (48 in all) spread across four eras, with a variety of various extra modes. The story mode features two main characters and two points of view on a storyline, but you can also play a multiplayer mode. Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is a must-have for every puzzle lover, for everyone who’s shad a lot of fun playing Bejeweled and for everyone who wants to spend their time playing a good game.

What Time Machine: Rogue Pilot IS NOT

It’s not another Bejeweled clone. Seriously, it’s not! I’m a fan of Bejeweled myself, but not all games in the match3 genre are Bejeweled clones, and neither is Time Machine: Rogue Pilot. Just give it a try! Keep your eyes peeled for it on PSN later this summer.

So, I guess that’s all I wanted to say in this post – it’s a quick one, as we’ve got a lot of work here to have the game ready for its release as soon as possible. Will be back soon with some more news, so stay in touch! See you in the comments!

Hi everyone! The best thing about my first post on the PlayStation.Blog is that it’s an announcement! Our very first PS3 title Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is in the final stages of development and will be available in PSN later this spring (hurray!), which is totally exciting for our studio.

Time Machine: Rogue Pilot combines all my favorite elements from the “match three” and hidden object genre, combined with full HD graphics and a great soundtrack. Your task is to time travel through different eras to fix the past and save he future!

First, some backstory! The Time Machine was built by a genius professor for the good of humanity, but it was stolen by a fellow named Jack, who has an interest in bringing destruction to the world. He jumps from one era to another and creates chaos to the timeline. While playing for Ilona, a young girl who was brave enough to chase Jack, you’ll have to collect special crystals in match-three missions that serve as fuel for your Time Machine, enabling you to jump from one era to another.

You’ll need to fix the past by destroying items that don’t belong to the current era — these are the hidden object missions — to bring order to the universe and prevent the catastrophe. For those who prefer to be the “bad guy,” you can also pass the Story mode playing as Jack and find out what made him try to destroy the world, and who is the real villain in the whole story…

And for puzzle-lovers, the game has six extra modes such as Time Rush, where you need to destroy as much tiles as you can in a short period of time, or Puzzle mode, where you’ll have to destroy all tiles with a limited number of shots. There’s more: Time Machine: Rogue Pilot has a multiplayer mode where you can play the game together with a friend online or on a split screen.

So, now it’s time for me to get back to the Antique Age to collect all the crystals for my Time Machine, but I’ll be coming back from time to time with more news, so stay in touch!
