This week it’s time for your Sackboy or Sackgirl to join the LittleBigPlanet Emergency Services and do their part to keep their fellow Sackfolk safe throughout their everyday lives. The LittleBigPlanet Emergency Services offers promising careers as a Policeman, a Fire Fighter, a Medic or as a member of the Sea Rescue. These great costumes will be available across LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting.

Not only do we have a full set of uniforms for your Sackperson to wear, we’re also proud to be releasing our first pack of karts exclusively for LittleBigPlanet Karting to ensure that your hero has just the right vehicle for the job. LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks

Starting this week’s LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks, we have a great Wheel of Fortunes game that will see you spinning the wheel and playing mini-games to try and score more points than your friends.

If you’re looking for a bit more danger in your excitement though, you will want to check out the High Oc-Train (1-4 Minigame) which will see Sackboy darting between fast-moving trains and falling boulders in a bid for survival!

Rounding off this week’s LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks, we have Another Planet – A grand platforming adventure that has Sackboy leaving LittleBigPlanet and visiting another planet within the ever-expanding Omniverse.

Surge Lite on LittleBigPlanet PS Vita

Now here’s a wonderful story that came to our attention last week, one of our community members leklack was unable to find Surge by the great folks at FuturLab on the PlayStation Store, only to discover that it hadn’t been released in her country yet. This didn’t deter community member evret though, as he began working straight away on a LittleBigPlanet PS Vita conversion of Surge just for leklack. You can check out this great level for yourself in the video below.

FuturLab were so impressed by evret’s new level and his dedication to bringing Surge to LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, that they declared that evret needs a medal! We couldn’t agree more and are pleased to award evret with the Rare Prize Crown and the even more fabled Awesomesauce Pin for crafting this amazing recreation of Surge, which you can now queue up and play on LittleBigPlanet PS Vita too!

With it you can easily make anything from brilliantly addictive mini-games to a fully-fledged RPG.

LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks

This week in the LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks we begin with My Robot Factory, which will see Sackboy running upside-down on Attract-O-Gel and teleporting around as he jumps into Worm Holes in a robotic platforming adventure.

If running up walls and teleporting all over the place isn’t enough for you, then perhaps you’ll like Simple Pleasures. This deceptively named level will see Sackboy in a race against time as he runs through the level and performs wall-jump after wall jump to reach the ever-elusive Scoreboard at the end of the level.

Finishing up our weekly selection of LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks, we have Rollerball. This heart-pounding race level will see you taking the form of a ball, as you race against your friends, or some rather clever AI, to see who the fastest Rollerball racer is.

A Very Tasty Thank You

We end this week with a rather lovely story about a visit paid by Tony_Too to our SCE Benelux studio, so he could give the team a cake as a thank you for having his Winter Epicness level reach out to 100,000 different racers on LittleBigPlanet Karting.

I didn’t get to try the cake for myself but I’m reliably informed that it was both very well-received and delicious, so the folks in Benelux would like to say a big thank you for the gift.

This week, our LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks sees Sackboy becoming Outback Jack, as he takes off on a journey through the Australian Outback with some new platforming skills to help him survive. Meanwhile, in The Arena, Sackboy enters a first-person deathmatch arena that pits him against waves of mean robots that he will need to shoot to survive.

Finally, we finish the Mm Picks this week with Solitude in Silhouette, which sees Sackboy taking a scenic journey through some dark caves with fun gameplay and impressive visuals to behold throughout your journey.

What is a Worm Hole?

The Worm Hole is Sackboy’s brilliant new teleportation tool that will enable him to travel safely from one Worm Hole to another within the same level without fear of losing a life.

This handy new tool will even allow Sackboy to teleport from your PS3 to your PS Vita and vice-versa, should you want him to return home. The most intuitive and creative level designers will even be able to use the tool to remove Sackboy from gameplay and effectively lock him in a state of stasis whilst action is taking place elsewhere in the level…However we’ll leave it up to you and Sackboy to discover just what potential his new Worm Hole discovery holds for LittleBigPlanet and the rest of the Omniverse!

Head into the Unexplored Cosmos Today

Sackboy has his brand new mission, so head on over to the Store today and you can pick up the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, available for the PS3 for $4.99. Just a friendly reminder, you will need a PS3, PS Vita and a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 for the new DLC pack. If you don’t already have a copy of LBP 2, there are a couple of easy ways to pick up a copy at a really great value. It’s currently a free PSN download for all PS Plus members, and starting today it will also be available for $13.99 as part of the Holiday Essentials Sale on PlayStation Store until December 24th.

December sees yet another awesome addition to LittleBigPlanet 2 — the Cross-Controller Pack — making LittleBigPlanet 2 the first game to support this exciting new feature!

But what is Cross-Controller? Well, Cross-Controller lets you to use PS Vita as a controller for PlayStation 3, allowing the use of PS Vita-only features, like front and rear touch, in PlayStation 3 games. More importantly, it provides a whole second screen where action can take place! This allows for an unimaginable number of new ways to play, some of which you’ll experience with the LittleBigPlanet 2 Cross-Controller Pack!

In the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, Sackboy joins up with a group of lovable Space Pirates as they race to find a valuable treasure long thought lost to the Cosmos. On their adventure they’ll encounter new obstacles that can only be overcome with the help of PS Vita’s unique features.

As well as a new adventure for Sackboy to take part in, players can get their hands on a suite of new tools that let them create Cross-Controller levels for the community to play.
