As some of you may have seen already, copies of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita have been popping up early at various retailers. If you’ve been lucky enough to snag a copy, I hope you’re enjoying the early access! Keep in mind, the servers won’t go live until September 18th, so online play won’t be available for another day, but you can still play the game offline in its entirety. And now that you’re beginning to dig into Sackboy’s latest mobile adventure, we have a whole bunch of goodies and treats to show you.
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita has been developed by Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven with a brand new story that takes place not on Craftworld, but on the travelling planet of Carnivalia. Once the bringer of joy and laughter, Carnivalia has now been taken over by the mysterious Puppeteer and his evil henchmen, the Hollows!

Hi everyone – production on LittleBigPlanet PlayStation Vita was completed earlier than expected, and due to the excitement from our retail partners, some have decided to put it on shelves as soon as the product was received. You’ll still be able to fully enjoy all the offline features of the game until that time, but the servers will not go live until September 18th. We apologize for any confusion this may cause and will keep you posted on any further updates.
We start this week with an incredible contribution to the community from John Holtkamp, known to most by the name amazingflyingpoo .
Last week he released his brand new and totally free LittleBigHub App, which is a rather nifty little tool that will allow you to follow creators, queue levels and keep up-to-date with all the latest activity on LBP.me !
To check out this amazing application for yourself, head on over to LittleBigLand.com to see what LittleBigHub can offer you!
This isn’t the first time that we have featured amazingflyingpoo in Sack it to Me, in fact he’s contributed so much to the community that he has already been awarded both the Rare Prize Crown and the Awesomesauce Pin!
The summer may be over, but fall is now upon us, which means we’re getting closer and closer to LittleBigPlanet Karting‘s November 6th finish line. It won’t be long before Sackboy’s fastest and most competitive adventure will hit store shelves everywhere!
Now that we’re closer to launch, one of questions that we’ve been hearing a lot lately is: Who exactly are these mysterious characters that our stitched-together hero must race against throughout LittleBigPlanet Karting’s Story Mode? Well, we’ve decided it’s time to let you in on some of the backstory.
Long after Sackboy defeated the Negativitron in LittleBigPlanet 2, visitors from far, far away arrived on Craftworld driving speedy karts, with plans to seek out and steal its most precious prizes. These swarms of otherworldly scavengers became known as The Hoard. As you might have guessed, The Hoard want all of Craftworld’s prizes for no reason other than to hoard them – they essentially embody the antithesis of Creative Sackartistry.
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita has gone gold!
This means that the game is now 100% complete — all that remains is for us to print off Sackboy’s new adventure and send it off to stores for release on September 25th!
Our teams at Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven have been working hard to get Sackboy’s portable adventure ready for you; we cannot wait to see what our community of talented creators can make with Sackboy’s brand new collection of create tools, which are just perfect for making your very own portable gaming classics!
If you haven’t already, be sure to pre-order today to ensure that you receive your copy on time. You’ll pick up some snazzy bonus content too!
We’ve got some great news this week — tomorrow sees the release of The Pirates! Band of Misfits, a fun movie for the whole family, on Blu-Ray and DVD! Thanks to a special partnership, we’ll be including vouchers for a brand new The Pirates! Minipack inside the Blu-Ray and DVD release of the movie.
That’s right! If you pick up The Pirates! Band of Misfits on Blu-Ray or DVD, you will be able to download a free collection of gnarly pirate costumes including The Pirate Captain, Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz.
Don’t forget our recent LittleBigPlanet Cross-Goods Announcement either, meaning that this voucher will entitle you to the full set of costumes on LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting.

Gamescom 2012 is currently in progress and LittleBigPlanet is the height of popularity there, thanks to our brand new titles LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting. To celebrate the occasion, we have a few treats for you!
Customization is a BIG part of LittleBigPlanet. Being able to modify your Sackboy or Sackgirl is a way for players to personalize their experience, while also bringing a variety of different franchises and entertainment properties into the LBP universe.
Last year we released a special LittleBigPrius level which formed the basis for a popular creation contest. The level was very well-received and has been played more than 300,000 times to date! The winning contest entry, Prius_Eco Adventure, became an Mm Pick and has been played over 88,000 times — pretty cool, right?
Now we’re back again with another great custom level and contest courtesy of our friends at Progressive Insurance. You might have downloaded the free Flo mod, kart, and track content for ModNation Racers, but now everyone’s favorite raven-haired, red lipstick and apron wearing spokeswoman is coming to LittleBigPlanet. It seems that those two salesmen from “A. Nother Insurance Company” have attempted to steal Flo’s bundler tool, with unexpected results!
