Tekken Hybrid Hits Today Exclusively for PS3

+ Posted by "Filthie" Rich Bantegui

tekken hybrid

Hey guys! I wanted to give everyone a quick look at everything you’ll be getting with today’s release of Tekken Hybrid exclusively for PS3. Tekken Hybrid comes with three Tekken experiences: Tekken Tag Tournament HD, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, and Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D all on one Blu-ray disc! And I hope you brought your 3D glasses, because Tekken Blood Vengeance and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue are both compatible with 3D televisions. Plus, if you buy the Limited Edition you get a special two-disc soundtrack of Tekken Tag and Tekken Tag 2 music, as well as a hardcover art book filled with information and art from all three parts of the Tekken Hybrid package. Now on to the good stuff, the chewy center or this Tekken nougat, here is what you’ll be getting with your copy of Tekken Hybrid.

Tekken Tag Tournament HD

This was a game-changer when it was released in 1999 for arcades, and the following year as a PlayStation 2 launch title. Let’s take all the characters In the Tekken franchise for two-on-two tag battles, throw in Tekken Bowl, which ended up being a fan-favorite mini-game, and have players go buck wild in extreme two-on-two matches.

Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen to Assassinate Enemies on PS Vita

+ Posted by "Filthie" Rich Bantegui

shinobido 2

If you’re like me, then you’ve already whipped out your fat red marker and circled February 22nd, 2012 on your calendar the minute our friends at Sony Computer Entertainment announced the launch date of the PS Vita in North America. Last week we were able to reveal the name of Touch My Katamari, which will be hitting on launch day. Today, we’re back with more on another launch title from Namco Bandai.

While they still won’t let ME have a PS Vita yet, I do know at least one other person that does have one. That would be Mr. Kazuhiro Watanabe at famed studio Acquire in Japan. Known around the world for being among the best developers in the stealth action genre with their work on the Tenchu series, Mr. Watanabe’s team has been working non-stop on a PS Vita title that will be slicing the life out of enemies before they can even see what’s coming.

Soulcalibur V Interview: Sharpening the Blade

+ Posted by Sid Shuman

soulcalibur v

It’s a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold. And on January 31st, 2012, that tale comes full circle on the PS3 with Soulcalibur V. Set 17 years after the events of Soulcalibur IV, Soulcalibur V is a return to the fast, furious feel that marked earlier entries in the series. I was able to put a pre-release version of Soulcalibur V through its paces to get a feel for the new gameplay tweaks and refinements. I quickly noticed that Soulcalibur V moves at a slightly faster clip than SCIV, and that the Soul Gauge gem has evolved into a full-blown Edge meter that powers Brave Edge attack enhancers and the ultra-damaging Critical Edge finisher. I also spotted new defensive maneuvers, such as the new Quick Step evasion and a Just Guard parry. A core group of classic characters is joined by a large cast of mysterious new characters (read more here), headlined by guest character Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed.
