Today we’re launching a PlayStation Communities app on iOS and Android, making it easy to stay in touch with your fellow PS4 gamers while away from the console.
Starting today, if you head to PlayStation.com and log in to your PSN account, you’ll see a new toolbar in the top right where you’ll be able to view Notifications, Messages, Friends, and your own mini-profile — all from your computer’s web browser. This makes it easier to stay connected when you’re away from your console.
The device options for PlayStation Vue are expanding with some highly requested platforms. We’re pleased to announce that you can watch your favorite TV shows, movies, and sports through PlayStation Vue on Android TVs starting today. Additionally, web support for both PC and Mac is coming soon. You can sign up for PlayStation Vue via the web for these two new devices without the need of a PlayStation console.
Howdy! As you may know, PlayStation Meeting is happening tomorrow in New York City at the PlayStation Theater. It’s only open to members of the press, but we also wanted to open the invitation to PlayStation fans to watch live.
So here’s your invite! Join us at live.playstation.com tomorrow, September 7, starting at 12:00pm Pacific / 3:00pm Eastern.
And stick around after the presentation for a special episode of PlayStation LiveCast. See you tomorrow!
With Call of Duty XP approaching, all of our eyes are focused on one primary goal: the crown. As a long time veteran and professional Call of Duty Player, I can safely say Call of Duty XP is every player’s chance to earn that crowning achievement and make their year a true success. The prestige of placing well at our largest annual tournament can help propel a player’s career to new heights, or vice-versa — it can take a once-promising career and have it head towards irrelevancy.
By popular demand, the PlayStation Vue mobile app for Android launches today, giving you access to some of the best TV shows and live TV channels on your Android phone and tablet using your existing PlayStation Vue subscription. So download the PlayStation Vue mobile app for Android and enjoy!
We’re also pleased to announce today some new features and updates for PlayStation Vue coming to your PS4 and PS3, making your viewing experience even better. Let’s get to it!
This is Marc from Drool. Back in 2009, Brian Gibson and I teamed up to create Thumper, our rhythm violence game. Today, we’re excited to finally announce Thumper is launching alongside PlayStation VR on October 13.
Thumper contains nine epic levels playable in both ultra-glossy 2D and fully immersive VR. Over the past few months, we’ve made many enhancements to take full advantage of PS VR. We’ve fine-tuned movement speed, the scale of the game world, and our visual effects to create an overwhelming sense of speed and monumental dread. It’s hard to describe if you’ve never been a space beetle on a screaming hell ride before. But no matter which way you play, we think you’ll feel the violence!
Attention, PS Plus members! We’re happy to share your free PS4 games for next month. Prepare to raise a little mayhem in the depths of hell, or battle brutal bosses in a strange, ruined world.
First up, we have Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. Enter the open-world sandbox setting of New Hades and wreak havoc. If you’re even remotely familiar with the Saints Row franchise, you know that over-the-top antics are waiting for you. The developers at Volition have been honing their craft on this franchise, and playing Saints Row: Gat out of Hell is a great way enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Next up is Furi, a new title from The Game Bakers. Built on the premise of making a game that is both simple and deep, Furi is a fast-paced, intense, and ultimately rewarding gameplay experience. While play mechanics allow for an easy approachability, the depth comes from the ways with which you use those skills to take on unique opponents. Furi pits you against guardians, each with his own style, in what feels more like carefully crafted duels than boss fights. The Game Bakers have made something special, and we hope you enjoy it.
