We hope you’ve been enjoying the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Limited Beta. We gave out tons of codes last week, and if for some reason you haven’t gotten a code to download it yet, check out the special pre-order deal we have going on with Amazon. If you pre-order from now until September 26th, you get into the beta! Also, if you get over to RatchetAndClank.com before supplies run out, we’re giving away a limited number of access codes on the homepage as well! The beta features one-to-four player online and offline co-op, as well as two segments from different locations in the game and a cross-section of the inventive arsenal you’ve come to expect from Ratchet & Clank games.
One of the frequent questions we get is how the evil Dr. Nefarious ended up with Ratchet, Clank, and President Qwark. We actually explain this at the beginning of the game: Ratchet, Clank and Qwark have arrived on the planet of Luminopolis so that now-Galactic President Qwark can pick up an Intergalactic Tool of Justice Award.
It’s my pleasure to announce that we have just launched a limited beta for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. Our team in North Carolina has been working hard to build the ultimate co-op Ratchet & Clank adventure, and we hope that in the coming weeks you’ll get to try out the one- to four-player mayhem. The beta will enable you and up to three friends to go online and play through two sections of the game.
The first scenario is the opening level of Luminopolis where Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and the evil Dr. Nefarious are forced to band together when Nefarious’s light-eating Z’Grute is unleashed upon the city. The second area of the beta jumps you deeper into the action with The Vertigus Cliffs, set in the N.E.S.T. area of the treacherous Planet Magnus is a unique area full of vertical views that look stunning in 3D. The Vertigus Cliff level will also give you a chance to check out some mechanics from later in the game, including use of your weapon wheel and many of the crazy Ratchet & Clank weapons you’ve come to know and love. New weapons like the Frost Cannon, Plasma Bomb Launcher and Warmonger give you a great assortment of guns to play with, but old favorites like the Combuster are back as well. There are LOTS of weapons in the beta, as well as character’s special ability.
The team at Insomniac Games in North Carolina has been working hard to wrap up their first game, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. It’s a terrific four-player co-op adventure, and we’re really excited to have it in your hands next month. A frequent question we’ve been getting is “how is it when you play alone?” While bringing co-op to Ratchet & Clank has been by far our number one request for the franchise, we know many of you love to sit down and play Ratchet & Clank and enjoy the fantastic worlds, inventive weapons and hilarious storylines on your own time.
Qore Episode 40’s lead story provides an in-depth preview of Insomniac’s Ratchet and Clank: All for One. Jump right into this true 4 player experience that features a brand new co-op mode with tons of those crazy weapons we’ve come to expect. Don’t miss the weapons guide gallery to get a peek at all the gear you’ll want to enjoy when the game drops on October 18th.
If you enjoyed Qore’s profile of Ted Price back in July, we hope you’ll also enjoy the quality time Veronica Belmont spent with Naughty Dog creative director Amy Hennig. Qore profiles the career of this industry leader from her beginnings as an artist/animator to how the PS3 system allowed her to realize her vision for the UNCHARTED series.
Qore also checks out Neverdead and subscribers have access to an exclusive ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection theme.
Hi there Lombax fans! It was great to have so many of you swing by the PlayStation booth at PAX this last weekend and get your hands on Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. Those we did speak to seemed to have a great time playing around with the incredible weapons shown in the PAX demo. If you didn’t get a chance to make it to PAX and are curious about just what other unique weapons can be found in All 4 One, you’re in luck, because today we’re detailing the weapons specific to each of the four characters.
Take a look at this final video in the series and see how the character-specific weapons of All 4 One work. Watch as Ratchet uses his Dopplebanger to distract enemies before he blasts them with his Warmonger rocket launcher, Qwark uses his Quantum Deflector to protect his teammates and run through enemies, Nefarious gets sneaky with his Cloaker, and Clank slows down time and space with the Zoni Ray.

I went to Germany once. I visited a castle, ate schnitzel – all things you should do as a guest of that fine country. However, the most fun I had was when my exchange family set up a massive LAN party and we played games for 12 hours straight! It was then and there I realized that Germany is ground zero for videogames.
So for this year’s gamescom conference, the Insomniac crew hopped across the pond to show off our anticipated fall titles, including Resistance 3. By now, you’ve probably seen the beautiful new Olly Moss-inspired trailer, right? If you haven’t, I’m giving you permission to stop reading this blog for a second to watch it. After that you can check these all new screenshots. They show the blissfully creepy side of Resistance 3. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to take a stroll (or even a sprint) through those areas.
