April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month and we’re honoring this with some animal themed items for your UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer characters. First off, we have some very special and limited DLC available for purchase this month. Pogo and Trumpet, our resident Naughty Dogs, are now immortalized on custom t-shirts and weapons. All proceeds from the sales of these items will go to the SPCALA, a charity that supports the prevention of cruelty to animals.

Naughty Dog, purveyors of fine action-adventure games including the upcoming survival action game The Last of Us, made a bold move yesterday. They decided to make the core multiplayer component of their most recent game, the globetrotting epic Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, free.
In a world of microtransactions and freemium stigmas, gamers naturally had questions about this decision. Why Free-to-Play?

When we announced UNCHARTED 3 we set out to make the multiplayer component as robust and compelling as any other multiplayer game out there. We took lessons from our summer beta and the Subway Taste for Adventure and used them for our launch. Since launch, new design ideas and community feedback have been applied to every patch we’ve released. Our newest patch is lucky number 13, and we’ve planted some fresh ideas deep into the game. Patch 1.13 for UNCHARTED 3 Multiplayer has been months in the making — it’s our biggest patch ever.
Patch 1.13 will be available today, August 7th. If you’re not a fan of reading, check out the patch notes video below for some of the new update’s highlights.
We have unique new multiplayer DLC that will start rolling out to users as part of the PlayStation Store updates, starting on August 14th.

Back in March, you may have heard about our UNCHARTED 3 make.believe contest, when we invited UNCHARTED fans to participate in a contest to win the opportunity of a lifetime — the chance to become their very own character in the game. Today, I’m going to share with you the winner and his incredible journey.
Sony make.believe is about fans using their creativity and imagination to do something amazing, and bringing their dreams to life. Earlier this year, Sony gave fans the opportunity to be a part of one of the most popular game series ever, by becoming a character in UNCHARTED 3′s multiplayer mode. They were sent to “Training Camp” to compete in a series of three online challenges, held in the US and Europe.

It’s back! We are very excited to unveil patch 1.11 for UNCHARTED 3, which will be live for download by the end of May. First of all, we can hail the long anticipated return of the Lab. However if your memory is fuzzy about what the Lab is, we first introduced it in UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer. The Lab is a playlist featuring a unique series of multiplayer game types that our designers have concocted that focus on, above all, being fun. We’re kicking things off with a T-bolt and Pistole only map. So once the patch drops later this month, log onto UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer and give it a whirl. Let the experiments begin!
As for other changes happening in patch 1.11 UNCHARTED 3’s Lead Multiplayer Designer Robert Cogburn and Game Director Justin Richmond have something to say (video above).
