Last week we announced that Blacklight: Retribution is coming out of Beta tomorrow, and we’re thrilled to share with you what we’ve been up to since the launch in November. Along with revealing new maps, a new weapon, and some cool new streaming capabilities, we’re happy to finally reveal our PlayStation Plus Starter Packs.

Hey Blacklight: Retribution fans, Zombie Studios is releasing the Seaport map today on PS4! Seaport is designed to bring players into the fight quickly with two major avenues of attack. If you find yourself pinned down, plenty of smaller side paths and routes cut through the port’s warehouses. Good use of HRV is critical, since the opposition can take you by surprise quickly if you let your guard down — watch your teammates’ backs.
Zombie has been getting a lot of questions about when the next patch hits for the Blacklight: Retribution PS4 beta, and what will be in it. We’re happy to announce that the first content patch for Blacklight: Retribution on PS4 will go live today, Thursday February 27th. This patch includes too many things to list here, so we’ll stick to the really, really good stuff – the first of which is the introduction of our cooperative game mode: Onslaught!
The meek shine of a cell phone light provides precious little comfort in the dark halls of an abandoned hospital. Its glow throws menacing shadows across every wall and beneath long-abandoned wheelchairs. Creaking steps and whispers flutter down the passage, and the promise of a scare is never far off. But Daylight, which launches on PS4 this April, offers a different take on the classic genre.
With the Daylight launch just around the corner, I wanted to give PlayStation.Blog readers a bit of background on our protagonist, Sarah Gwynn. The reasons we chose to go with a female main character were twofold. The first reason being that because I was writing the game, she became (in a roundabout way) an extension of myself. I came up with the outline for Daylight based on some urban exploration I did in my high school days.

Considering today is Halloween, the dev team and I wanted to share with you a story about what inspired Daylight’s location, the fictional Mid Island. It’s an abandoned, desolate place with the façade of any other island in the New England area, but bears deep scars in terms of unspeakable events that took place there and at its most infamous location, the Mid Island Bay Hospital.
