There is no way to deny that Sony has done alot wrong in this generation of console war, especially in the marketing department. PSN can help with that, I love the PSN. Sony you gotta get your act together, $800 and $1200 for new Blu Ray players is not only killing the Blu Ray format but also killing the PS3. Forget quality for now, cut costs, costs, costs and more Contents, contents contents and marketing! I believe Sony can win the console war and the new DVD format war if you guys get smarter about marketing and price

Off topic: We’ve all heard about SE’s Yoichi Wada telling you guys to fix your marketing. So I have a suggestion, I actually heard this from someone and I think it’s a good idea.
Focus on marketing it primarily as a gaming machine, but change your slogan from “Play B3yond” to “PS3 – Something for Everyone”
It works because the PS3 literally has something for everyone with all of its features, it’s not at all confusing, and you don’t have to elaborate on anything.
Just saying, Square-Enix is your most important third party support. Don’t blow it with them.
I hope you guys can get Square Enix to put Final Fantasy VII PS1 on the PSN so we can download. Also, a remake of VII would be freakin’ awesome. The Final Fantasy XIII & Versus XIII trailers should be on the PS Store.
Ah, play Warhawk in a sauna, eh? That fix would probably work about as well as anything Incognito has managed to come up with. Not that they’ve come up with a whole heck of a lot.

We got the machine last, even though you promised a worldwide lunch, we got a cut down version which does not have the emotion engine, we have an expensive version, there is no prize reduction for us and, further more, the PSN store sucks big time.
You know what SONY? I had enough of your way of doing business and, even if I have been a loyal SONY customers for years (laptops, tv, ps1, ps2, ps3, psp, etc) you have really pushed it too far…
Hey Sony… I love Puzzle Fighter… omg… its one of my favorite arcade games… and now its like having that same arcade game feel AT HOME since its online! wohoo! I dunno if you’re working on these… but another few of my faves: Street Fighter II and Street Fighter 3rd Strike, puzzle bobble, tetris attack… i think those would be really popular! Keep it up Sony!

play your blurays cuz thats all your ps3 will do for AWHILE…give it a year or even 2 years before the box even sees ps3 in the rear view mirror…
Sony is in no way even in a position to catch up to 360 right now…no content in comparison…everything delayed for ps3…360 gets everything way in advance and in higher resolutions…firmware that still doesnt deliver what was promised…once a week updates that creates HAVOC on bandwidth with the traffic…no advertising campaign what so ever with the ps3 and yet MS has TONS of ads…newspapers, TV, radio (just today i heard Walmarts midnight launch of Halo3 on the radio)…yea and NOTHING for PS3
evryone needs to just understand that Sony is not in any kind of rush to give us what we want and believe me…I TRIED to tell them but this blog is a joke a BIG F***ING joke

You can’t have higher resolution on xBox 360 games, because the Game Media format on there is only DVD which is 480p at best. The external HD-DVD drive is ONLY to play HD-DVD movies not games. PS3’s Game Media format is Blu-Ray, which does full 1080p. This may explain the delay in getting games in PS3. Blu-Ray has the capacity to hold more gaming goodness and developers want to use that capacity to its potential. Also, not to mention the Cell Processor is way more advanced than any other gaming console, so that also adds to the complexity of developing.
360 came out in May 2005 and the PS3 in Nov 2006, so of course it’ll take some time for PS3 to catch up. I really think PS3 has been catching up and will over take 360. Just like PS2 did with the gaming market… over 100 million consoles sold and still going! For reals I agree with you, Sony is in no rush, but really they will give us what we want and will do it right, it’ll just take time. Unfortunately people cannot handle the concept of “patience”… so to help you out take a deep breath and calm down. All better now!

EVERY game is either 1080i or 1080p depending on what your max display is on your TV…and bluray is just for storage capacity…which yes the bluray hold TONS more data then a DVD does BUT if what you said was actually true then ALL PS3 games would be in 1080p and as we all know thats NOT true since 99% of the games are only in 720p
so yes the 360 is pumping HD out of a DVD!! dont believe it??…BUY ONE
oh and i applaud your fanatics but trust me…i was in your shoes once…and its going to take ALOT longer then you think for Sony to catch up…i still have some faith for Sony and i hope one day they do pass the big green monster…but until that day comes i’ll be playing my HD games on the 360 and grab a Sony exclusive that catches my attention which sad to say isnt much…looks like my next Sony exclusive is in 2008

we already have the best system.. once we catch up with the software this holiday season, they might as well give up, we have plenty of exclusives coming Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Haze, R&C Future, Unreal Tournament 3 anyone? and then your right the best of which is probably 2008 when we get Killzone 2 and MGS4…

I’m glad you informed me on something… I understand now that BD & DVD is storage capacity and that regardless the media format it’s still capable of doing 1080p and it depends of course on your TV. So I guess I can only brag that one BD can hold the capacity of a ton of DVD’s. Thanks for the info!! So does that mean you have 1 xbox game on like 3 DVD’s? Or are your HD games that fit on 1 DVD really short?
none of the games are on multiple discs…not yet anyway…Bioshock is an absolutely sick game and not short in any way shape or form…graphics insane, gameplay insane…VERY in depth action rpg and one dvd disc in 1080p ign rates it 9.7 and gameinformer to my surprise gave it a 10
and its sad that Sony cant even make a good game that rivals what the box is puttin out…and im not talking 3rd party cuz its obvious Sony has NO 3rd party support..i mean c’mon Haze is the next “exclusive” for ps3 from Ubisoft whos totally in MS’s pocket…dont get me wrong im not in any way a 360 fanboy i didnt even buy my 360 it was a xmas gift but i call it like i see it…im a hardcore gamer that needs to play games not watch movies and the box caters to the gamer not the movie watcher…
I even PAY for xbl…yup i pay for it!! and im happy to pay for it…why? cuz it gets updated almost everyday with new trailers, demos and even HD movie rentals and downloads..in game menu and music access…everything Sony promised and hasnt delivered is available in xbl or on the 360

Huge difference between what the developers are doing for the 360 and ps3. With the 360 they program in maybe 720 and upscale it via the system to get 1080. Hell if you want I can say I’m playing god of war in 1080p because I’m upscaling it… so in fact it’s a fake 1080. The ps3 can’t upscale ps3 games yet, so they’d actually have to program in 1080 to get 1080.. and that’d be a true 1080, this is where the storage space on a blu ray comes in handy.. only thing is that with the system being new and nobody really knowing how to get the most out of it all we’re getting out of it is 720, and [DELETED] ports.

Ratchet and Clank is Not for 8 year olds. It’s an awesome shooter/platformer game that is actually very challenging.. and awesome.

As much as I hate to even acknowledge your existence. Fight Night Round 3/ EA, Elder Scrolls Oblivion/ Bethesda, and Ghost Recon Advanced War fighter/ Ubisoft are 3 games that are not ports and are better on the PS3. They may be cross platform but still not ports.
Now let us see. Activision, Infinity Ward, EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Konami, Capcom, Midway, Lucasarts, NCsoft, Epic, Free Radical, 2K, Namco Bandai, Square Enix, and just about if not every 3rd party developer has either an exclusive PS3 game in the works or a cross platform game with a team assigned to the PS3 project.
Have you ever bought a console at launch before? Obviously not, because if you had you would know that games don’t just start rushing in until about 9-12 months after the launch period.
I think Sony has done a great job getting us content and improving the functionality of the system. In case you have not noticed you are the only one here constantly upset about owning a PS3. Thanks for the Blu-ray movie support though.
I think the reason Sony seldomly reply to these posts is because all people do is rant on and on about updates and what they want all the time. (rarely see a please or thank you)
There are never any real constructive posts, I’m sure that when this Blog was created Sony read what people wanted and took note.
The way i see it, is that we are lucky to get any updates at all, after all we don’t pay Sony for the service.
IMHO the PS3 was released 1 year to early because they were afraid too many loyal Sony supporters would defect to MS and Nintendo.
I and many of you knew that when the console was launched we would have a long wait for many top quality games to arrive (the PS2 is still producing better games with top qualtiy graphics) just think what we will have a few years down the line.
So stop whinging and slagging each others consoles off and enjoy the slow ride.
Don’t you mean Warhawk sucks until the rankings get sorted. It’s not the consoles fault.
