Well, while I’m quite disappointed, i won’t blame anyone for this week’s update being kinda empty to me ’cause I have faith in sony lol, maybe next week there ll be some nice demos and exclusive psn content!The important thing is that they keep bringing psx games like ff7, metal gear solid, etc, and that they bring update on a daily basis, i believe that would certainly keep psn servers more stable too!well…maybe next week right?^^

I love how the Playstation EYE is launched this week worldwide, and ONLY the European sites get additional games! they got 3 EYE related games we got NOTHING.
Heck it’s Halloween next weekand they got a FREE paint job for the occassion on Motorstorm. What’s up with that?
I saw the UK update earlier in the day and the 3 EYE games and was stoked! I thought cool!, we get content for an over hyped eyetoy! Then SMACK ! right in the face!

You have to stop this Thursday update thing. Update the store when you have something to put up. Its such a pain having to wait a week for for something new to do and our hopes being dashed like this week and have another week to get through for another chance.
With random updates you wont have this constant backlash when you dont deliver the goods and youll have more people turning on their PS3’s every day to check.
I downloaded Crash like a month ago and when I try to get my password from the first level after beating the fat guy (Mahu Mahu or something) the game freezes. Anyone got any ideas?

Piyotama – Summer skin that Japan has had for awhile.

Aqua vita, Creature (Eye) game, and Towers of Topoq >?sic (Eye) games that are in UK
And last but not least Gran Turismo 5: Prologue that would make an awesome download for next week if you can’t squeeze these in by the end of this week.

Im not a Sony hater but I will give my opinion hoping someone at Sony hears this. The update this week is horrible indeed. Maybe some type of software or cool feature can be given to us, or perhaps a third party demo, in fact how about another RCF demo? That game was amazing. Maybe give us a new tab on the XMB to vote for PS classics that we want, cause seriously…Spyro? If you guys are in it to make us happy and make a profit…its not working right now, start listening to your consumers. Thanks.
To PyramidHead, no one said it was the end of the world to not get a demo. We just expect something, anything, to play on the PS3. I get way more content every week on my other system that is not to be named. I just expect the same from the better company of the two!

and those saying worst update ever definately never saw the PS store back in february or so… we only got like 3 or 4 new things every week, and 2 of them could be just videos… demos were released like once a month.
Kamahl, by you telling Sony you are ok with what they are doing you are just inviting them to keep doing it.
They have made a lot of stupid asinine decisions since PS3 launched so they obviously need someone to try and nudge them in the right direction.

I can’t understand why we should ever have a demoless weekly store update. Everyone knows there is a screening process b4 demos can be uploaded, we all understand that. But why sony why…. must u treat game demos like a mother hen sitting on unreleased demos like an incubating egg. HATCH THE LAIR DEMO!!!!! HATCH THE BLACKSITE 51 DEMO!!!! HATCH THE UNCHARTED DEMO!!!! enrichovega, the Blacksite 51 demo is pretty good. I’ve played it on the other system. As you, I would love an Uncharted demo, but you can just rent Lair at your local video shop if you want to test before you buy.
I have to agree with Solace about PS1 titles. We sell PS1 titles 3 for $5 where I work. That’s cheaper than they sell them on the PS Network! Why do you need PS1 titles!?

Clearly a lot of people have concerns over how the store works. I have seen lots of great questions as comments in Grace’s posts and yet nobody ever replies to the fans in these store update posts.
I understand that not everything can be spelled out for us but questions like “why can’t wallpapers be released in all regions?”
or
“why doesn’t North America get the Halloween car for Motorstorm before Halloween?”
are some very valid questions.
Would somebody please skim through these posts and do their best to enlighten us as to the mysterious ways of the weekly update.

I love Sony as much as the next fanboy on here but they make some pretty boneheaded decisions. I understand completely, the process involved in receiving content and distributing its clear to see they are dropping the ball.
You just sit there and continue to tell people to kill themselves for complaining, its well known that being content with being treated like [DELETED] gets you what you want.

Well I’m not going to go off on a rant complaining about the lack of demos. I’ve been here since the beginning and can recall the barren times. Do you guys remember them? There was hardly any content, no updates. Look how far we’ve come.
Anyhow, quick question about dowloadable content for games. Grace, will the US store be getting dlc for Oblivion, MotorStorm and Folklore. The last two titles in that list have recieved new content in the EU store, will the US store be getting it anytime soon and what is happening with the Shimmering Isles content for Oblivion? I’d love to have it, but don’t want to buy the GOTY version simply to play it.

Considering they had a “design a character” contest for Folklore that’s going to be added to the game as DLC, it looks like we’ll be getting extras for the game (hooray!).
Also, I’m in the same “Oblivion boat” as you. Worse case scenario, they’re putting out a Shivering Isles expansion disc for those of us that bought Oblivion when it came out. I don’t know how it’s going to work with disc swapping or anything, but at least we won’t have to re-buy the game all over again. Let’s hope it comes to the Store though, as I’d rather download it than buy an extra disc.

@79 Actually, those aren’t valid questions- why spend your time crying about the “why”. You aren’t getting them and knowing why won’t change a thing. You all seem to expect them to pull something out of their collective magic hat every Thursday. This is by far NOT the worst update ever. Most definitely not and if they want to take a week off, good for them. If they had demos, they would be there. Don’t shoot them for not having enough money in their wallets when you mug them.
@Solace, Oblivion is my most played game on the PS3 and couldn’t wait for Shimmering Isles. I hear that Bethesda is trying to get it on PSN, but there are complications. What are they? Only they and Sony know.
By the way, anyone who is moaning about the lack of demos. Stop being cheap skates, get down your local computer store and buy a game. Take your pick from Folkore, Eye of Judgment and Ratchet and Clank. Plus if you haven’t heard, there’s a certain demo in the Japanese store called GT5 Prologue. More than enough to keep you busy and happy.
Im not gonna complain about this update, just because it was a “weak” one, but I think you guys should do something about the downloads speed on your network: Demos, update, etc. They are really slow, and its not my connection because everybody I know that has a PS3 also notice this, and also, could you guys push Guerrilla Games to hurry up with the Killzone 2 public beta they mentioned? It would be awesome for it to be open a couple of months before the release next year. And yes, I have to ask why is it that you guys get 3rd party demos so late after the competition?
To the people that keep commenting with: Just feel happy for what you get blah blah blah. Compare it to the competition then shut the hell up. Everyone here has a EXCELLENT POINT when they say the update sucked. Thats what this blog is for to let Sony know what we think so please drop the mom speeches immediately.

You miss the point. I’m not crying about the update because I don’t really care.
But it certainly is a valid concern that North American Motorstorm fans would miss out on a holiday “treat.”
But that isn’t my point either… my point is that some form of communication would help quell all this crying and rioting. Maybe there is a legitimate reason why North America couldn’t get the car paint job in time for the holiday.. maybe if they told people why that is happening they would understand… instead of feeling like Sony doesn’t care about them as consumers.
It is simple business sense.. if you buy a product and then you have some questions or concerns and the company you bought it from makes you feel unimportant.. well that is bad business.. most consumers will move on to another product.
So, to lay it out real simple for you.. I don’t care about the meager update, I don’t even own Motorstorm, I am concerned with the way the PS3 is being perceived by a large portion of the industry and by the consumers because that doesn’t, in the end, effect my investment in the PS3.
I’d say it’s a weak update, but not a bad one. Glad to see at least one new PS1 game showing up. Thursday only updates is lame though- We all DL everything thursday night then sit waiting an entire week again. The other regions get updates a lot more randomly (so that gives me something to check on days that aren’t thursday).

Why are people saying that this update is not that bad? It’s freakin horrible! Some are excited for Spyro? Are you serious? You have a $600+ next gen system and your worried about getting old arse games. If you want those old craps then you should’ve never got a PS3 and just sit there dazed and stupid with a psone and all of those old arse games. I’ve been supporting Sony since day one. All my TVs, Stereos, dvd players, etc in my house are all Sony. I’m getting very scared for Sony.
An alright update, I’m happy to see that we got another new PS1 Classic game. Lots of trailers though. Next week we’ll hopefully see a demo that’s decent to play, or some new PSN games. I would really like to see that we get more updates in the store per week, then waiting out a week to see what kind of update we have. They still have time to improve on the PSN, its still new so if we give Grace Chen and Sony more time on the PSN, I’m sure the online service will be great.

I am glad I have a PS3 and Xbox. When Sony don’t produce, I go to Xbox 360. Lots of Demo. Sony nice trying to hold the #1 spot. I guess you guys gave up this time around.
