Whats [DELETED] is that micro$oft can be sued for having advertising on xbox live and charging for it.
Microsoft is AFRAID OF SONY, remember sega? They were afraid too, within a year they were wiped out by sony completely. Once sony takes the european and japanese market, micro$oft cant do [DELETED]. So I would love to tell you to GET OUT BEFORE YOU GET [DELETED] BY SONY FANS.
I really don’t understand something. Maybe it’s because I’m in my mid-30s, as opposed to the seemingly endless parade of 12-year-olds that comment here, but what is with the short-sightedness? Every time even the smallest hiccup happens, half of the gamers on the ‘net act like it’s Sony’s death-knell. Are any of you stupid enough to REALLY believe that any of the issues the PS3 has had are enough to kill the system, let alone the company? If you compare sales of the PS3 with those of the XBox-360 over the same period of time after its launch, they are running roughly parallel, but every time an idiot like Gabe Newell opens his gaping maw and vomits up some half-formed pearl of stupidity, or a one-time exclusive title goes multi-platform, or (God forbid) the FREE content in the FREE store on the FREE network isn’t up to snuff, the boards overflow with morons claiming ‘the end is nigh’. Furthermore, as I saw someone else mention in another thread, losing exclusivity for a game is not the same as losing a game. Does your life mean less if GTA IV comes out on both systems? Is the game somehow less fun to play? I think most PS3 owners agree that the PSN has a lot of growth to achieve before it can really be a contender with XBL, but, it is free, and XBL has a several year head-start.
Not to mention, and I know I’m farting in the wind on this one, what is the deal with the (unbelievably childish) vitriol that is thrown back and forth between PS3 and 360 owners? I am ashamed to be a gamer sometimes. How can you possibly be shallow enough to think you’re better than someone else because of which toy you decided to buy? Didn’t we all get into this out of a love of games?

yeah this weeks update was not as exiting as previous ones but they are coming out with some awesome looking games
one more thing why would i want a piece of [DELETED] system like the x box
1. it has a 33% failure rate (my friend has sent his in 4 times to get fixed)
2. MS has no games coming out passed mass effect that i see
3. it is one FPS after another with MS at least i get variaty with Sony
4. MS does not care about games at all it is an [DELETED] computer software company. all they care about is taking your money and giving you a ton of [DELETED]
5. i am looking more into the future MS might be good now but later maybe a year or two down the line Sony will have reclaimed its seat as king of gamin
so in conclusion dude if you dont have anything constructive to add stay off the blog no one will miss you
I know this has been said before but Sony has most likely been affected by the wildfire around their San Diego studios. That is probably why our update was lighter than most. Stop being so selfish and complaining about what did not come. With the fires we are lucky to have recieved any update at all.
I however have been blessed by the Sony Gods this week and finally got my dearest wish SPYRO!!!! WooHoo!!! (By the way, don’t knock it til you try it! It might not be Resident Evil but it is a wonderful game, not to be compared to the junk that has been put out under the Spyro name since Insomniac stopped making it)Thank you Sony I feel like I am being heard!!! Please keep PSOne games coming!

Someone wake me up when the real Sony (the one that was around from about 1996-2004) shows up and provides their primary customer base (hardcore 18+ male gamer with a moderate to large sum of disposable income) with what it wants to spend money on… rather than this stupid SingStar press release / Spiderman Add-on / Motorstorm car (for $3 ****ing dollars… Seriously!?) crap.
Let me list some OBVIOUS items you should be giving us A.S.A.P. if you want to have a shred of hope this holiday season in selling high numbers of PS3 systems. This formula will not only make the big magazine sites such as 1-Up, IGN, Gamespot, and Gametrailers love you, but (SURPRISE SURPRISE!) the hardcore gamer (again, your PRIMARY demographic) as well. Oh, and great job by the way of taking away functionality in your new PS3 SKU. No PS2 backward compatibility. Great idea… because I love NOT being able to consolidate all my hardware into a single all-purpose device that saves me both space, and inputs on my TV, all the while improving upon the actual PS2 games by way of shorter load times, smoother graphics, and nearly limitless save space that does away with cumbersome memory cards. Anyway, on to the list:
• MGS4 Playable Demo. Let’s be honest. The new Metal Gear game is the #1 reason for owning a PS3 at the moment. I know there’s a playable version out there. We’ve seen clips of people playing it so get Konami on the line and get it to the gamer now.
• A playable demo / beta of LittleBigPlanet. I’ve also seen people playing this game on video clips from the PS Store. I know there’s a playable version out there. THIS is what will sell your system to the non-hardcore. Come on! Give us this to show to other non-PS3 owners that they’ve never seen before!
• Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. It’s out in Japan. Get it here NOW.
• Final Fantasy VII PS1 downloadable game for PS3/PSP for any price from $5 to $15 (my favorite game of all time, by the way). This and Metal Gear Solid are a NO-BRAINER! These are 2 of the most successful and highly regarded video games not only on the PS1, but in the entire history of gaming. These 2 games are the ones that got me to buy a Playstation after seeing them in action at a friend’s house. I don’t care what you have to do. Get them on the PSN fast.
• RARE collector’s item PS1 games that received critical acclaim but were not necessarily financial successes. Games such as Einhander, Tomba, Omega Boost… Actually, you know what?, just go to GameFAQs.com or ANY major gaming site to the Playstation 1 games section and whatever games are the highest on the list, BINGO. Instant sales. Make THESE PS1 games downloadable for PS3/PSP for $5 – $10 depending on file size, or how many discs there were in the original package.
Who do you think is buying the PS3?! We’re smart consumers, not your average casual gamer playing a Wii for 1 hour a month. Those guys don’t spend more than $500 on a game system in it’s entire life-span. Most of their consumer base will only buy the system and maybe an extra controller just to play Wii Sports. Not us. Not YOUR primary consumer. We spend a LOT on games. I bought 20 or so PS1 games on my original Playstation and somewhere around 40 games on my PS2. We are the reason you came out on top last generation and the one before that as well. We will put you on top again if you let us!
And I think I speak for much of that demographic here when I say that we’re all getting a bit tired of all the bull crap we keep getting force-fed here week in and week out. Fire your non-gamer staff, and hire ME to work for you in the marketing / R&D department. I’m passionate, intelligent, have a bachelor’s degree, and LOVE games. You need to buckle down and please the gamers out there. Because right now, it doesn’t seem that anyone there at Sony is “getting it.”
Lmao… JDPoZ, wow…thats alot of stuff YOU would like to have. Unfortunately no matter how much you want it, you won’t get it. I would love to have all the stuff you mentioned…but I’ve been viewing this blog every day since they announced it and sadly…I’ve heard plenty of similar banters…thats why I decided to stop doing that and let people like you do it for me…cuz honestly we all pretty much feel the same way.

Ey no no this update was good, its better them last weeks update”God”, Ok Bionic Comman the demo really suck the game look bad thanks for letting me know ahead of time before i make the mistate of buying the game “Lair” thats why i love demos. Rachel Master i been waiting for this Add on forever i love the game TOO BAD Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming to the 360. Men thats a game that i would sell my mom for.
I know Sony don’t buy exclusives and i understand why, but you guys need to get this AAA games to the PS3 thats a game thats going to sell 360s you guys are a Multimillion Dollar Company think of something?.
I will say it sucks there are no demos but I am thankful for Spyro the Dragon. I hope to see more PS1 games come out on the PS Store. To me at least if more games like Spyro the Dragon from the PS1 could come out I would be thrilled. So I hope next week there will be a lot more PS1 games coming out on the PS Store.
Plus the Japan PS Store has a lot so how about some more PS1 games for us too. Also would there be any chance that PS1 games that never game out of Japan could come out on the PS store in the US. Even if it just had added text that would be great.

Also, could you guys change the look of the Playstation Store? The blue background is really plain. Maybe you can change to something more like the XMB or the SingStore? And can you add music to it as well? :)
Well the weekend is here as soon as Gamestop open i’ll be there getting another 3 i’ll keep my PS3 with the money i ‘ll save from that so call store i’ll pay for live
Ive been a playstation fan from PS1 on up and am about to buy a PS3 for my B-Day i understand that there will be a load of games available this holiday season and that an effort is being made to make this system more attractive to general consumers im glad your willing to take such large cost cuts for us but i have seen over several months that yes u are making progress but from a veiw point of someone who is about to unload over $600 this holiday i wanna say that u need to get ur ass in gear SONY i want this system to take off as much as u do as i have been dedicated to buying ur systems for over 10 years but the lack of content is really screwing u guys i work retail and am directly in contact with ur buyers and the main complaint is LACK OF CONTENT as in games and online downloads it seems u have forgotten that u were a game system developer long before microsoft was as far as consoles, so why are they kicking ur [DELETED]? i could give a rats [DELETED] about the price of the console if its got CONTENT i want my moneys worth so u best get busy, i want replys from u guys at sony if u have the time as to what u are doin about this stupid console war and if there is a solid reason for what seems as ur lack of trying =results i will fork over the $600 and will continue to support u over that piece of [DELETED] x-box and the semi fun wii ,im not ranting i just wanna make sure that u are aware that Backwards compatability and content are just as important as the system itself REMEMBER that u have us PLAYSTATION junkies who have been payin ur bills for some time to think about we came first so get us some stuff to enjoy on this wicked system i wish u luck and will take every opportunity to boast ur system to the people i encounter at work just dont make me look like an [DELETED] in the long run.

you know sony yesterday my friends 360 was updated he got nfs:ps and he was wonderin if i got it too i told him i didnt…….its been goin on for a while now but he gives me more and more resson that xbox is a better system I WANT HIM TO STOP SONY give me something that they do not have so i can respawn to those tauntin me i get battered from xbox fan boys daily

i’m 32 ( soon to be 33..WOW), and IMHO the problem is this…
1. XBL does have a lot of realy good things going for it right now! i know, i have a 360! now, it has taken a lil over 1 1/2 years to get to where it is but, it’s there NOW! and if you ask somebody what are the diffs between the two…you’ll have to tell them what’s going right now! and in that case…….well we all know the answer to that! one thing that would help the P. Store is an interface redesign! and that’ll get things going in the right direction! and you’ll need some content veriety to fill the pages……that’ll also help.
2. any body (with enough common sence) can see that th PS3 is no worse than the 360 did in the same time frame…and with the $200+ diff, i think it did even better! but the internet is a strange and scary place! and right now, ALL SONY gameing ggear has made the hit list..it’s so kool to hhate Sony and every thing that comes with it! Now Sony has brought a lot of this on themselves with, all the double speek and back treding! and with soooooo many people out there, WANTING them to fail…..it’s not hard to find mistakes!
3.i’m not even going into the games that have been pushed back, ported looking like crap/missing features , or even cancelled.
one of my co workers asked me whitch system is better? he knows i have both and that i keep up with the latest news and updates! i had to tell him this:
right now..if you want a quality machine with crazy potential…PS3! it’s an all in one, that does more than the 360 out the box! and only a few of us here at work have them sooooo, if you can make new friends on the the net…kool. the online had gotten better just in the few months i’ve had it but, it has a lil ways to go!
the hardware of the the 360…meh but, it now has a few things going for it as well…the on-line is crazy! XBL is top notch and it has a lot of things you can download right there! and of cousre…almost every one that games here at work has one so, you know you’ll have a crap load of friends right off the bat! now, if you told me i could only have one system…..i’m sorry….i’d have to keep my PS3! like my PSP, it just does more things for me!
i told him, i am a (for the most part) a PS fanboy because, their products usualy do more that just..what ever they were built for! but XBL, has a lil space in my gameing hart!

yeah this was a sucky sucky suckfest update, k’mon SONY, i went to you cuz i thought u were the best….but where the crap are the downloadable games, the ps1 games, Mortal Kombat 3, and the freaking demos, come on sony!!! im patient….but not THAT freaking patient!!!!
dude word on 2.0 update would be sickening… but sony should atleast have made some kind of word on the update patch they included in R&Cf:ToD. but still i wanna have some word on 2.0… anything, something would be nice.

With Xbox Live churning out the great demos like Guilty Gear II and NFS: ProStreet whenever they bloody please, you guys (Sony) are making me wish I was being paid to subscribe to PSN.
No downloadable games, no demos, nothing interesting, nada. Niet. Rien. Zip.

stfu aurahack. theyve been pumping out multiple demos for like over 2 months. they skip one week and you get pissy. regret your purchase, who cares. why you would want to pay to subscribe just for demos is beyond me.
Ever notice how XBL releases 2-3 demos per week, Ash? And -always- at least one downloadable game? Not couting the add-on content and videos they add aswell.
Just because we’re not paying for online doesn’t mean we should get the short end of the stick.
Besides, I don’t regret my PS3 purchase, even if the only game I’m playing on it right now is Persona 3, a PS2 game.
What happened to Update 2.0?? Where is the Home Beta? Psp update 3.72 does it really support auto shut off and start on via remote play? How long until I can play music while playing any games?
I know I am not going to get any answers but just in case.
When will games that only support 720p work on 1080i TVs without being downscale to 480i? Will update 2.0 include custom sound track? Only features the Ps3 needs is Custom sound track and in game friend list acess to check messages.
i hope tommorow there is gonna be a svr 2008 demo or nfs…or a demo at least..cause this update sucked!!!…
