  • Wollan .. if you read this please email me!! Thanks!!!!!

  • Thanks for the store update. I can’t say I dig what’s going on with the Canadian prices right now. It’s kind of upsetting.

  • I can’t believe people complain so much about these updates…

(I have complained…but it’s only when firmware updates mess up my PS3!)

Everyone whould chill out, show some respect, or SONY just might end the Blog!

And about the Guitar Hero 3 boss battles, maybe those are 360 exclusive.

If not, don’t blame Sony, blame the company that MAKES the game for not giving it to Sony!

    geesh!

  • C’mon Sony! Give us the Folklore downloadable Folk! The Europeans have had it for weeks but us Americans seem to be behind the curve for downloadable content, at least the stuff I’m interested in, anyway

  • @51 – Solace
Hey, that’s fine if you want to pay more for your games, but everyone else wants to know why Sony matched the US prices for a week, then jacked them up a buck a download. Aqua is 50% more expensive to buy in Canada because of the added dollar, and due to that I won’t be buying it. Maybe you don’t buy a lot off the store, but I do, and in a matter of a few weeks I will have spent the equivalent of a game with the extra charges. That’s not cool.

    Gord

  • @Gord
Sorry, but a dollar ain’t that much that I get worked up and cry online about it.
You CLAIM to have spent so much that you could’ve bought a new game.
Really? What PSN Store are you going to where you’re seeing 60+ games, cuz that’s how much you’re claiming you got “conned”.

And to complain about the price of the games they just put on sale is stupid – they’re still cheaper than they were before, even if you were looking at the US price.

Seriously, it’s not like this is any different from disc-based games. We pay 5$ – 10$ more than Americans for them, so only being 1$ different isn’t that big of a deal. I give more to homeless people. Are you homeless? Do you need that extra dollar that badly too?

  • Don’t be absurd.

The pricing isn’t right, no matter how you want to spin it. It has nothing to do with anyone being “poor” or “homeless”.

  • Decent update. The new thumbnails do make the store look a little more professional. (at least on my PC. haven’t checked it from my PS3 yet.) Thanks for the PSEYE games. Don’t have one yet, but hopefully I’ll be getting one soon.

    @ #21 jimm
yeah you’re right, it’s the season of giving. So why don’t you give Sony a break?

    @ #44 JDPoZ
    kudos

    @ #51 Solace
I live south of the border but kudos anyway

  • @ #58 Clinton514
Hey man, let’s cool it. Everyone, including your own government, all book publishers, and every company I can think of (including your buddy M$) prices stuff at a higher price in Canada than here in the U.S.
The reason for this is the fact that the Canadian dollar is historically lower in value than the U.S. dollar. In fact, I can’t think of any time before now that it was worth more than the U.S. dollar.
I see your point about Sony pricing new games/content at a higher price there than here, but I don’t see you complaining about Putnam Books pricing stuff higher there.
If you’re going to complain about the pricing, than DON’T BUY THE STUFF!!!!!!!!
….and don’t complain about it here either.

  • I don’t understand why the Canadians are having to pay more for the same content? I have to say It’s frustrating to want to buy this stuff. If I do, I end up spending about $5 more which could have gone to a different game….so sorry Sony, I can’t buy anything at all on principle…

  • to thingg

I don’t understand your reasoning… this blog is about giving our concerns to Sony but… you don’t like that? Maybe you are the one missing the point of this blog.

As well, Canadian are complaining about higher prices. Book, cars, clothes, electronics. Canadian retailers are having to adjust their prices. Simply because you are not informed, doesn’t mean the world ends at your doorstep. I think the issue is that you need to educate yourself and become a little more worldly. Maybe read a Canadian paper to see if that helps..

  • @63 Xostas
Hey man, I’m not saying it’s ok for Sony to do that, I’m just saying that you guys need to stop griping about it every week with lost of off-topic posts and such. And if you don’t like the price, than don’t buy it.
That is my advice to you: don’t buy it. because as I’m typing this I’m seein’ your point more and more. If you guys in Canada want Sony to cut with the higher pricing, try not buying it. I’m sure Sony will come around if all Canadian PSN Store sales stop

  • ********Why are these updates so lousy….Xbox Marketplace is so much better and that is free….so i dont want to hear no excuses. Sorry sony but I just speak the truth, you guys have to step up in order to atleast compete with the competition.

Also good idea would be Music Videos in HD! Since there is nothing else atleast have something special for PS3!

  • Also, HVB is now listed as coming out on Nov. 27 so I guess it was delayed.

    Wait a minute. Nov. 27?!
    *shuffles calendar*
    THAT’S A TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully this means we’ll get content on more days than just Thursdays.
I’m not betting my life on it, but who knows………

  • thingg.

It’s my right to complain. Point at “history” all you want but it doesn’t change the reality of the present day dollar.

It’s rare you’ll find me complain about much but I’m holding off on certain purchases until I see some pricing that reflects the current dollar.

All retailers up here in Canada are dealing with clients complaining as well. If it’s not price matched to the US retailers we take our money down south and get our dollar’s worth.

And stores ARE responding by adjusting their prices.

  • Man, the amount of whining is incredible. How about you be happy that Sony’s given you an update with discounted games, demos and trailers, and stop whining that they haven’t given you 80 games this week.

Thanks for the update, I bought CAC and flOw. Both good games.

    Honestly, you people are incredible.

On a side note, the prices in CAD are higher than the prices in USD, despte our dollar bing worth more than the USD. That’s not really cool.

  • @ #67
Don’t know if you saw it, but look at my last comment (#66) Yeah, I got the message

    @ Sony
Why don’t you make ONE worldwide PSStore and price everything in USD and figure out the exchange rate price based on the user’s PSN information. (specifically, what country are they in.)
Also, if you are never going to release the PSN Cards (hint, hint) outside of Japan, just let the credit card company’s take care of the exchange rate. (Or heck, program a simple webbot to keep track of the exchange rates via google.com……….)

[…] this weeks Playstation Store Update (early because of Thanksgiving here in the US) Hey, everyone. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, […]

  • this update was really pathetic, where is pain and other GOOD games/demos?

  • Thanks for the update.

  • what happen 2 bowling

  • I wish there was a little more content but f’n KUDOS for giving it to us early!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have to admit this was a crappy update. Not really anything I really want. Well besides maybe the pseye games but then again they aren’t anything I really want. Wish that bowling or Toy home were up on the psn store instead. Oh well. Here’s to the long week

  • Oh great. “Now” you bring the price of Everyday Shooter down after I bought it for 9.99. I’ll wait for new games in the future to come down as well now. I’ll download the demo. That’s about it.

  • The CAD/USD Exchange Rate on 2007-11-20:
    $1.00 CAD = $1.0197 USD

So $4.99 USD should be $4.89 CAD. At $5.99, that’s a 22.5% markup, for no good reason at all. This is a limited time sale, and there is no way that the exchange rate would fluctuate that much within the limited time.

If they just charged $4.99 CAD, I would buy more games.

It’s not that I cannot afford the extra dollar, but because I cannot stand being ripped off!

  • @ i understand what you are saying, but we Europeans get screwed over even more. they put the euro up against the dollar. for the system and also for the games. so 1 bought r&c at 75 euro because it is a first party game sony made it a higher price. so that is 110 us dollars.

  • to the people who are disappointed with the update, remember this is easlier than normal,

  • Yeah really. I’m really pissed off at Activision for pretty much siding with Microsoft on the GH3 release. First exclusive CD tracks, now NO boss song pack for PS3.

  • Okay, where’s my Haze Demo? Is it because it was delayed so the demo got delayed as well?

  • @82 you guest that right

[…] Read the rest of this great post here […]

  • You know, up until I discovered this site and started reading the comments following each post — no matter which — I was convinced that the lowest form of life was all the frigtards that gave old uncle Billy lip service and happily swallowed down his company line while trying to convince the world that although it was warm, salty and bitter and made them gag it still was an acquired taste.

Yeah, that was until I started reading here the same — for a lack of a better word — retarded and juvenile comments, only here in the form of complaints and extreme demands put forth without even a simili of thought behind them.

I feel bad for SCEA, I feel bad for SONY as a whole. That proud Japanese company that single handily took console gaming and changed it from something that geeks practiced in shame hidden away in their basements and made it into a legitimate, mainstream and cool pastime that we all know it as today.

That company is now seemingly at the whim of all you, you whimpering, convulsing, nauseating mass of all the worst traits of human behaviour.

Look at you, you disgust me, with your spoiled brat attitude of always wanting this or that or that thing over there. Always adding things to your list of demands with an unquenchable hunger and desire for ever more and more.

Nothing is ever enough, even when you get the things you want you do not even stop for second to be satisfied, for you never are, you want ever more, it is the trait of your generation.

SONY is not run by a bunch of chimps in suits that fling infinite bundles of cash like so many feces at anything that moves just to catch its attention.

If you want a unquestionable desire to fulfil your every whim and want may I suggest Uncle Billy’s shop at the other side of the street?

I hear the fathoms deep pockets of his are willing to shower you with untold splendours and long as you kneel down and swallow up his company line.

Yes, by all means go over there to Uncle Billy’s shop and swallow down the facsimile ambrosia, only remember that its bitterness only hints of the truth that awaits once Uncle Billy’s infinite resources has succeeded in asphyxiating all of the competition because idiots like you started demanding the same from them as you got from that demented monster who needs not give any thought to mere trifles such as profit, or long term plans.

  • great update thinks sony

  • Uh oh… when (if) I get my hands on Rock Band today, I see myself spending a ton of money on those songs… damn my wallet hurts.

  • I have been awaiting the eye create downloads here in the USA since seeing them on the EU store.
I actually truly like this update.
Rock on Sony for bringing the rest of us updates, not just the losers that want only something for themselves.-

  • New Content = Not so great
    50% off Games = Nice
No demos for those games = Very Disappointing

I was tricked into buying flOw so I won’t be buying anything else until I try it first. I had to play Super Stardust HD and Calling All Cars at my friends house before buying them myself. Please get demos for ALL games.

Thank you and have a tasty Thanksgiving.

  • if i wanted to look at a pile of crap i would go to the bathroom.

Bottomline sony, the update this week was the bs pc store, which is basically torrenting. if i want to dl a file, i want to dl a file, not a file for a file that leads to me eventually getting the file i originally wanted.

another thing, the devils weekend map has bugs up the wazoo, or maybe it is just dumb programming. that is your strongest ip you need to support it.

as for the store updates, what the hell is taking so long to get the ps3 eye camera games into the us. the uk store had them 3 weeks ago, and now we only get 2 of the 4. bowling has been done for 2 weeks, you need to get a sixaxis demo video up by next week with the game.

you are making me regret my purchase, and i really do hate to say that.

    -nabokovfan87

  • Hmm,

Can’t even take advantage of the price drops because my system freezes whenever I enter the expiration date for my credit card.

I have never experienced such bugginess with a console before.

    Using 2.01.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! 2.01 SUCKS… i actually cried to find out the lie about “IMPROVED PS2 VISUALS” all my ps2 games where actualy running at 720p with NO BORDERS WHAT SO EVER with version 2.00, now the borders are back with 2.01. what 2.01 should say is “DESIMPROVES PS2 VISUALS”. i’m really mad at who ever made this update and lost my excitement to play Shadow of the Colossus again.

  • @101 Really, you cried?

  • I was surfing around on the web, and I came across this page.

I was wondering if this is still something we can look forward to. Would be cool.
