Hi Everyone!!
Before I jump-in with the FAQ, I wanted to let everyone know that our V1.2 patch will go-live on December 19th at 10:00 GMT (that’s 2am pacific time). We will be bringing our game servers off-line while we roll-out the patch from 10:00 to 16:00 GMT (that’s 2am to 8am pacific).
Also, the Warhawk: Omega Dawn Booster Pack goes on sale December 20th on the PlayStation Store for $7.99!
So, below is a huge batch of questions that we grabbed from your comments. Hopefully you all find the answers useful, helpful, enlightening, entrancing … blah, blah, blah.

“OrganicShadow” Wants to know …
Can both teams have a dropship at the same time?
YES – the Combat Dropship only spawns in at specific locations and these bases become really important to hold. They also take awhile to respawn so you don’t see them constantly. But some of our best memories from working on Omega Dawn are from crazy Dropship-on-Dropship battles where nearly everyone in the battlefield is in the air!
Can you give us a roundabout estimate as to how much damage a dropship can take before kaboom time?
It’s really hard to estimate the time because it varies from weapon to weapon. It also varies because, just like a classic BOSS, the dropship has a weak point that causes more damage. I’ve seen a well coordinated team take a dropship down pretty quickly…but the inverse is also true. I’ve seen a team command a dropship for 10 minutes or more. It really depends on how you and your team or clan works together.
Out of curiosity, what button grabs the vehicles and do you have to keep it held?
The CIRCLE button picks up vehicles and you don’t have to hold it the whole time. Also, the player who’s inside the vehicle being carried can also cut power to the tractor beam by pressing CIRCLE as well as long as they are in a “safe” place to dismount.
Will it be available through the game like an in-game store or will we have to back out and go to the PS Store, download it, then go back in?
You can buy the Omega Dawn Booster Pack in both places; the PlayStation Store *and* at the Warhawk in-game store. When you buy Omega Dawn from the Warhawk in-game store, it’s very streamlined. You just pick the product from the list, download the content, it automatically installs and BAM, you’re good to go. You don’t even need to restart Warhawk.

I can see how people can be kept out of the new map if they don’t buy it but what about the dropship on the old maps?
The v1.2 patch includes some new features for the server/game list. It allows you to see maps that you don’t have but Warhawk lets you know they are locked until you buy them. So if you don’t have Omega Dawn, you won’t be able to join server running an update dropship version of an older map.
Will the SCEA, SCEE and other dedicated servers indicate the need to purchase the new content before entering the server?
We have also added a very simple color code to the server list. Players will now see a Green, Yellow or Red dot next to the server name that shows that servers content status. For example: if you see a Green dot, your content matches perfectly with the content of the server. If you see a Yellow dot, you have some but not all of the content. If you see a Red dot, you have none of the content.
If you join a server that is running content that you don’t have, you will be allowed to join but prompted that you need the required content to join the game. We then allow the player to buy the expansion content right there once the server has determined what they need.
By the way Dylan, will we see new troop weapons in the near future?
Good question!! I can’t talk too much about it right now but let’s just say that there is some new stuff in the works for ground troops…and it will be FREE for all players!

How about v1.2? I know the Omega Dawn is BIG but I’d like to know how 1.2 is progressing?
We’re done with both. The v1.2 patch comes out on December 19th at 10:00 GMT and the Omega Dawn Booster Pack will be released on December 20th.

How will this effect CTF? Will the dropship be able to carry someone who has the flag? Will it be able to carry a vehicle that is carrying the flag?
It makes a huge difference!! First off, you *can* be in a ground vehicle with the flag when you get picked-up by a dropship. This really changes the way teams work together when playing CTF. Swooping in to pickup your teammate that’s under fire, and whisking him away to safety is awesome!
You can’t be a normal passenger in the dropship when you have the flag, just like a Warhawk. However, if your server is set to allow “FLY WITH FLAG” then you can, just like in any other normal Warhawk game.

Ever consider doing a snow/mountain level?

The question I have is, will someone be able to be in the vehicle while its being transported by the dropship?
YES – its one of the great things about the dropship. You can pickup tanks and 4×4 with players still in them!

Is this pack being released in all PSN stores at once or will it be available only in the American store?
Very good question!! The Omega Dawn Booster-Pack will be available in all PlayStation Stores world-wide!

Will we be seeing a world-wide release on this or will Europe have to wait?
Ahhh … there’s a trend emerging here! Europe will *NOT* have to wait. Warhawk is a global game and our v1.2 patch and Omega Dawn Booster-Pack is being released simultaneously world-wide. The v1.2 patch is being release at 10:00 GMT and the Booster Pack goes on sale December 20th. The specific hour of the Booster-Pack’s release varies from country to country but definitely on December 20th!

Do you have any idea how much this will cost in the United Kingdom?
YES – It will cost £3.99.
How big will the download be? I’m running short on HDD space at the moment?
The Warhawk v1.2 patch is 42MB and the Omega Dawn Booster-Pack is 143MB.

If I purchase this expansion pack, will all users on my PS3 be able to access it or will it be limited to my (master) account?
If you purchased a Blu-ray version of Warhawk then *any* account can play just like you’ve always been able to. If you purchased Warhawk from the PlayStation Store, then you already know that you are required to use the account that purchased the game.

Any chance of adding minimum rank limited servers in the booster or patch instead of just MAX rank?
YES – We are adding this in our v1.3 patch. I’ll discuss that more in a later post.

Are we going to have flashlights or something like that? Maybe spot lights to shine the sky?
NO – Sorry there are no flashlights or spotlights :-(

Ha…Yes of course!!! That wasn’t really the problem that we faced when the wrong European v1.1 patch was released but long story short … YES!
Have there been any additional fixes in the 1.2 patch or is it exactly the same stuff which was mentioned before?
The same fixes that we mentioned back in this blog post are the ones that you’ll all be seeing in the release of our v1.2 patch on December 19th.

What kind of defenses will the dropship have? I know it will have that cannon but what help would that be against a missile turret? Will there be a stealth mode for it? Can it pick up the same powerups as the Warhawks?
The Dropship is very powerful and has a lot of health. It also can acquire chaff pickups. It can carry 6 of them. Chaff and health are the only pickups that the Dropship can get.

Is it possible that we will see game with more than 32 players and also more official (ranked) servers?
You probably won’t see more that 32 player in Warhawk. On the topic of more servers, we monitor our Official server load very closely. Right now we’re keeping up with demand and if it looks like we ever aren’t keeping up, then we’ll look at supplementing our server cluster.

When you enter the KT-424 as a passenger can you free roam in the ship? Or is it going to be like flying as a passenger in the Warhawk?
NO – it’s not like a capital ship with different rooms that you can walk around in. Size-wise, it’s about 4 times bigger than the Warhawk.
When you are a passenger, you get to control a swarm missile turret so that you can help defend the dropship and attack incoming aircraft and other targets.

How will it work for those that do NOT download the content?
Players that choose not to purchase the Omega Dawn Booster-Pack can continue to enjoy the same fast-paced gameplay they have been for the last 4 months. However because they haven’t purchased the Booster-Pack, they won’t be able to play on any of the new Omega Dawn layouts or play with the dropship.

Well…I’m not the pricing guy so I couldn’t tell you. Sorry. I will say this though. Our patches like the v1.2 update that gives you new server features and new layouts will always be FREE. I’m a firm believer that an online game needs to continue to fix bugs and exploits but also add new value for the player community.
As far as Booster-Packs…again, I’m not the pricing guy but I gotta believe that we won’t be giving Booster-Packs away for free.

NO – those were very early capital ships that were from our singleplayer campaign…may it rest in peace :-)

So, by the sound of “boss”, that means there will only be 1 per map?
There are at most 2 Dropships per map. The vast majority of the time players will see only 1 dropship at a time but sometimes, when the respawn timers are just in-sync and the battles have played out just right, you can get some really great dropship-on-dropship battles that last a long time.

We take our European players very, very seriously. Actually, we take ALL our players very seriously that’s why we are launching our Booster-Pack simultaneously world-wide.

This is a very good question! The dropship had a very big impact on pure deathmatch games. So much so that we felt it was massively unbalanced so we disallow dropships in pure-deathmatch games.

More or less yes…it’s not based on hardware region code, but based on the region where you purchased the game Warhawk. USA, Europe, Japan, etc.

YES – OMG! It was a problem that resulted in players being able to mount invisible turrets and warhawks too. It was a terrible exploit that is fixed in the v1.2 patch!!

There are no new night vision goggles, sorry. But as I alluded to earlier…we do have some new troop stuff in the works for our v1.3 update.

Lol that’s the thing, my friend. I didn’t get what I payed for- I payed for a grade-A game that would connect regardless of time or day like Resistance and Motorstorm do (besides update times of course.) I didn’t get that. I spent a good 40 bucks for this and it STILL disconnects. I’m actually having to play around the games time and not my time due to this continuing problem. Something really should be done. I mean I don’t even want to buy it because I don’t know when I can play. Or, hell, I wouldn’t be complaining at all. It would have been a first day purchase. To throw something out there for people to pay for on a still broken game is upsetting. They ought to either give it to us as a “Sorry we screwed up for so damn long” present or actually fix the game THEN charge me for it. I can’t decide if I should get it or not. Dylan, fix my damn Warhawk so I can buy your new map!
BTW PSPMAN, What you playin on PSP right now? I just got to second portion of KZ:L and I just finished SOCOM: FT2. Planning on getting Castlevania next. Some good games out there!

Any chance that we could get PSP Remote Play support for Server Management?
I’d run a Warhawk server while I’m at work if I could start, stop, and check on it using my PSP. Otherwise, I’ll leave my PS3 in Remote Play mode to Fold, access my content, or visit the PS Store.

Oh and Gregero you disconnect in Warhawk is prob from a blocked port or two. I had that problem then I looked up the required PSN ports that you need opened and it never happened again. Hope it helps if not then good luck.

Ok I threw my PS3 into a DMZ and it cleared it up again. It just gets so frustrating, you know? I’m gonna get a new router to make sure nothing screws up again. Linksys hasn’t been a very good router to me (seems to be resetting IP addresses or dropping them.) Any recommendations? I have three wired computers and many wireless devices at the home. Apologies.
HELP!!!!! I bought the Omega Dawn Booster Pack in psn store today with my Hong Kong PSN. After i installed it, i still can’t play the new map. The game i bought is the us verion. So, that’s the problem? What can i do …. plz tell me

Guys if here someone who bought the pack from the US store & not work with him since his copy is a EU, will I have the pack from the EU store but I can’t use it since I own the the US version of the game. So if someone interested to do some trading then please post a replay here.
I think I have the same problem that others have noted; I have the US version of the game, which has always worked fine here in the UK. But, after downloading Omega Dawn through the PlayStation store, and installing it, the game will not recognise that it’s there, and just tells me to go to downloads, which then tells me that there’s no content available. This is extremely frustrating, is the issue to do with region coding? if so will there be a patch to allow us games to intall EU expansion packs?
So me and some friends are in a Warhawk clan and when we join a game it splits us up on different teams(even when the team is empty). Why would they do something stupid like this? Why wouldnt they set it up like CoD4 or other games that make clan/friends start on the same team.
Like CoD4, when you invite someone into your party – you are on the same team when the game starts. It should start like this, but if you want to play purposely against your friends, then yes u can press start and change the team.
I have to join a game, then my friend has to click on buddy list and join from that screen. Then it puts him on a random team.
1) There is no lobby communication of any type.
2) No clan support/buddy support. Like you said, can’t join the same team.
Sorry didnt mean to sound like an ass, I pretty much copied what was said on the PS3 Forum thread about the difficulties.
So if I were to buy this, will I still be able to play in the old maps or will I only be able to play against the people that have bought this Omega Dawn pack.
They ruined the game, whats with all the official servers suddenly using 5 second spawn times? WTF that ruins the game to an unbelievable level, you guys need to bring it back to 3, it makes any kind of base defends outside zones impossible because 1 guy can take the base before u spawn back
My Warhawk “Cannot find my key in locset” even though I purchased the Omega pack and did the upgrade. It freezes my system and won’t let me play. I don’t know what to do. I want to play this new booster pack so badly. Everything I’ve heard is good and I want to see this dropship and all the new things in person.
Please Dylan, I’m tired of seeing those stat boosters going so high making me look bad. I’ve gone from like rank 160 to 250 in a day! Please stop them. And can you also reconsider bringing back the old medium maps for Island outpost and Badlands? The new ones you guys put up for the medium maps are too small. And also the 5 second respawn is annoying a lot of people. And also the blue official allow people to fly with the flags in warhawks is a really bad idea. Also taking out friendly fire takes out some of the dramatic actions. Last thing is that changing the CTF point system really makes it almost impossible to reach anpther rank. i know you guys are trying to make it fair to other people but you should give at least 2-3 points for killing a flag carrier and about 5-7 points for saving a flag. Please please please! Thank you
Aside from the price problem for Canadians, I see a couple of issues. First, this update seems awful glitchy. The game’s frozen on me three times in two days, which it hasn’t done in a long time. Next, the score limit of 50 for a 24-person TDM is simply too low. I also think the maps for these 24-person games are too small as well.
Now, personally, I liked the friendly fire being on, but I understand why you’d turn it off. Perhaps you can put it back on, but have players kicked from the server after, say, 5 or so TKs… just throwing it out there.
Ok I need help. This is a tad silly really. I bought the US warhawk as I couldn’t wait and I believe that’s the reason why PS3 games were made region free – so that importers like myself would be able to play the games without waiting for a period of time till the games reached local shores.
Now I downloaded the EU version of the pack and find out that the pack is region coded. AND on top of that I cannot purchase anything from a store from another country. This basically defeats the purpose of downloadable content for REGION FREE games. I have basically paid money for something I cannot use.
I would not have imported the game to begin with if I knew updates and future content are region coded – because that essentially means I will have no service at all. Utter rubbish. Why provide region free content if subsequent things that matter are not compatible – poor logic. I hope this will be sorted out or even that I am given a refund. OR Sony makes it possible to purchase across stores.
It’s like you telling me to i need to take my car which i bought overseas to be serviced overseas but you won’t allow me to get my car back to the country of origin – where’s the logic?

1-I USED TO LOVE AND PLAY CAPTURE THE FLAG A LOT BECAUSE OF THE 10 POINTS FOR RECOVERING THE FLAG, NOW IS ONLY 2 POINTS AND IF I GET TO THE FLAG ON TIME. BECAUSE THE FLAG RETURN BY IT SELF.
2- THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH HUNDRED POF THOUSAND OF POINTS WITH THE SAME KILLS AND GAMES WON THAT I HAVE AND I ONLY HAVE 30,000 POINTS. I BOUGHT THIS GAME WHEN IT CAME OUT SO THIS CANT BE GOOD. THEY MOST BE [DELETED] OR SOMETHING. YOU NEED TO RESET THEASE PEOPLE RANKING.

@223 thats exactly what I think, its a really bad idea that the stores are region locked because (in my case) I cant buy anything from any PS store because where I live (mexico) all games Are from US but the US store doesn´t accept credit cards from mexico
(actually mexico isnt even selectable in the country selection, it just links you to spain PSN and that is worse because we have american release dates but we are not allowed to buy anything from the US or EU store and in the EU store there is content that is not compatible with my games)
I would like to express my disappointment with the revised point system for patch 1.2 if on defense you only earn 2 points for killing the flag carrier and if you survive another 2 points for helping to recover the flag. This creates an environment were no one wants to defend because they are not rewarded for it. At least make it so the longer the flag is out the longer it takes to return the more points are earned the first two are in place we just need the points to go with it. Here’s hoping the 1.3 patch fixes CTF further.
I have had the problem with lockset key not found since the 1.20 update of Warhawk downloaded at startup of the game. I first updated, but then I could not log in without performing the update again. I guess the problem was related to a partly successful update. I tried uninstalling downloading and reinstalling. However, the update question comes twice, and it is not possible to connect without update, and with update, I get the missing lockset key problem. The Omega Dawn addon did not help either. Hope someone makes a fix for this problem!

To solve the problem “Cannot find key in locset”, Itried to delete Warhawk folder in Saved Game Data but it did not help. Then I deleted Warhawk folder in Game Data (2 clicks up from Saved Game Data) downloaded Omega Dawn again (which was deleted in the process) and installed. Now Warhawk works again!

In this up-coming patch (1.3) you should have it to where we can dual wield pistols, ’cause I hat the pistol it sucks really bad, dual wield or make it more powerful, and for the costumes, you should add a formal outfit, and have it show your rank, ribbons you have and have it different colors for each rank you are now that would be cool, and I like that parachute idea and I just got another………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. able to make your own levels, that would be hell’a sweet, and a lot more medals, I have a whole lot and I need more thing to do, 20,000 frag kills, 10,000 t-bags, 1,000,000 noob kill’s, 1,000,000 deaths, and on and on, man there is a lot of things to add, oh and another idea new game modes, make more up ’cause I love that zones mode very creative. Just make things happen!!!! But other than that, thanks for making the game, the new add-ons, and answering the players and keeping us up-to-date on what’s going to happen with Warhawk, thanks again

Have you ever considered marine battles?
It would b fun to go on a heavily armed aircraft carrier or submarine battle. Also, a T.O.W. missle turret and more complex maps w/ multiple levels would b nice.

Dylan, first great game and fantastic job listening to your players and giving us all what we want, and love the updates (keep ’em coming!!).
Some suggestions:
Dropship Dogfight Mode: Maybe make a modification to the Dogfight mode, to first fill one dropship fully, then put people in warhawks therafter to promote some dropship vs. dropship mega-battles in the air.
More Mini-Maps, more Games: Make more mini-maps please, and allow them for use with all game types. Sometimes playing capture the flag in the central base in Badlands is awesome fun, and I can’t help but think that the Death-Match mini-maps in Omega Dawn coudl be great TDM and CTF spots too, and more mini-base maps would be very welcome as options to those of us that set-up playlists and host ranked games.
Ranked/Dedicated Host Credit: It might make sense to award some kind of stats, medals, ribbons, points to those that host ranked games… especially if you leave your machine on all day as a dedicated ranked server while you are off busy. Would be nice to get 15-20 points per match hosted or something…
Water: Maybe an expansion that adds in water-based weapons, vehicles, maps, and battles. Aircraft carrier vs. aircraft carrier, islands, river deltas (jungles). some kind of speed boat, hovercraft, destroyer…
Weather Options: Would be nice to add the ability to choose daytime/nighttime for all maps, and maybe add some atmospheric weather to the maps as an option (snow, rain, mud, fog) to add some variety to the maps and spice things up a bit for the old maps.
Level Builder/God Mode: Would be neat to have some way to modify or create levels, or modify weapon and vehicle pick-up locations and spawn points… maybe an “Observer/God” mode where you watch the action, can switch POVs and drop in items and watch the carnage.
More: more character options, dropship paint jobs, tank paint jobs, etc.
I am looking forward to the V1.3 update… I am hoping that you are providing Photoshop templates for download to modify to create your own aircraft paint jobs and skins, and you can import in your own logo designs. Add in some more character options, and that will be good fun, especially since it takes some many points to level-up after a while, and you don’t get many choices with those advances usually.
Keep up the great work, Warhawk is the best game on the PS3, and best online multiplayer period in my opinion.
A jungle map w/ no minimap would be awsome and would give more tension than omega factory so u dont know were the enemy is and u can b ambushed(being able to climb trees would b great

I bought, downloaded and installed the Omega Dawn Booster pack but for reasons unknown to me I am still being kicked out and asked to download and install the booster pack, when I try to log on. I tried download + install a few times but same issue.
I bought the Asian version of Warhawk and am loggin on from Denmark, could this be the trouble? Have you had similar question (I couldn’t find it here).
Is there any where I could get support for it?

Reading the posts again I see others have the same problem: Is it region trouble? There was definitely no info about this when I bought and downloaded Omega Dawn…

Herein lies the reason why Warhawk sits on the shelf. Great idea, poor execution. First priority should have been to fix the fundamental issues, like no parties, mic quality is horrid, etc. If you want a multi-player game, those are some ultra basic fundamentals. When those get fixed I’ll consider updating, until then, no more wasted money. The update should be free, considering it’s just a map and an extra ship, that’s it.
Definitely it is disappointing if I have wasted the money for no reason. You could have warned us….

We have the Eucadian Home Map, what about a Chernovan Home Map?
Another like Island Outpost, but just one big moutians and have tunnels going in side or something like that.
Couple problem I have is some times when I throw a grenade at someone and hits them they dont die, but when the return the favor I always die.
Another is sever disconnect when the game almost done.
And I have one request, can you make all the rank games green (the name of server green) because I sometimes have a problem finding a rank game, even with the new update, I always choose between player anked, deicated ranled, and offical, but I have a funny feeling that the deicated and player ranked games dont count, can you help me out, or anyone who reads this?

Please develope the single player campaign for warhawk!!!!!!!! I feel that this great game should have it……. Also it is extremely hard to achieve points online!!! it will take for ever to become a general & can u guys fix the points so that it wont take soooooooooooo long????
Dylan first of all I love the game Warhawk it is the best game I have ever played. But I think that the new patch will make it way to hard to rank up 1 point for killing the flag carrier and 2 points for returning the flag that is just to little it will take me ages to rank up now so please fix that if you can in the next patch I would greatly appreciate it.
Another Thing that I would like to see is if you could make badges and medals worth points like maybe 25 points for every bandit badge and 50 for master and 100 for warhawk that would be cool.
If you could add more weapons to the game like maybe a shotgun that would be really sweet.
I also think it would be cool if you could make some kind of boat that we could use to secretly enter the enemy base on Island Outpost or other maps.
You and the people at incognito are doing a fabulos job on this game and I cant wait for PSN cards to come out so I can get the new booster pack.

Its MadBow again, I was checking my medals today and the medal “Aerial Achievement” you need 1,000 W.H. machine gun kills and 10 kills in a round and I have all the requirements but no medal. So Dylan where is my medal at? Oh and I have like 5 different people who is having the same problem.

Wow if it makes you any better I still don’t have my War Hawk badges for Flame Thrower,Knife kills,Turrent,4×4 kills,I should have by now all my badges for on ground combat by now! they should be up to WarHawk but there not! Lame delays from Dyan Jobe! hurry up and fix War Hawk already you had plenty of time now and now the new map pack is out and I still see cheaters etc in this game. But the worst is that its taking to long to earn my badges etc I’m getting only medals for points on each time I survive a match! but thats it!..Where is my badges for my weapons?..This is so boring the way you guys are handling the delays etc we need an instant chat messenger for War-Hawk so we don’t have to leave a ranked game damn it!..I’m sick in tired of Invite To Chat Room!..And this is in every online game not just War Hawk!..Please get that Patch for all online games done in early 2008!
Ok Dylan, you have yet to make any form of response to users who have brought up the issue of not being able to play this upgrade due to region restrictions. I am assuming that is cos you’re on leave and will reply ASAP.
I bought the US version of the game in Singapore (thats all we can get here) and downloaded the expansion pack from the Singapore playstation store. And of course it doesnt work. No warning. No explanations. Just wasted money and upset kids. Please sort this out !!
