  • Not great but this time of year for gaming tends to be slow. BUT that means you should up the amount of PS1 games.

  • @49 and 50

    I agree with you both.

  • What a nice surprise, I did not expect a demo this week.

  • this is horrid! get some balls over there sony and do something!!!!!!

  • Another week, another crappy update, another FPS demo, proving that the PS3 library is made up of ports and shooting games, forgetting about gamers who prefer RPGs and adventure games.

  • Please compare what the PSP Users in Other Countries got, with what we got here in the States.

I know that most of you only care about the PS3, but We PSP players have a legitimate gripe here.

please don’t discount the gripes of North American PSP players as if it isn’t legit. because it is.

You can cite all the stuff you want, but the fact is, everyone else gets pretty much twice as much as we do in PSN Store updates.

  • where is the luv for GH3? no dlc for gh3???

  • Conflict: Denied Ops Demo played and looked like crap. i wouldn’t expect anything more from eidos though.

  • Oh yay, thursday… time for the pretty rants. Pretty pathetic as usual.

So… thanks for the update guys, i’ll check out the demo.

  • NETWORK PARA MEXICO DESEAMOS COMPRAR CONTENIDO PARA NUESTRA PS3 Y PSP

  • Worst update ever you say?
Well ever must have started yesterday.
WTF do you whiners/trolls want? Sony to release the demo for some game thats not even being made? Or what? The service is free and you don’t get punished waiting a week later because your not paying.

    Neopets FTW…

  • You people need to stop whining, holy s***. Most of you are a bunch of crybabies. Be glad that there IS such a thing as downloadable content and a PSN store. The only thing in it for me this week is the Rock Band add-ons, but you don’t hear me complaining do you? You guys act like every Thursday is Christmas and you got nothing on your list that you wanted. You guys should get out of the house and go do something productive instead!

  • Seriously, Sony needs to step up the amount of PSOne and PSN games being released. We need at least one new PSOne game and a new PSN game every week!

If MS and Nintendo can do it, so can Sony.

  • I’m surprised by all the whiny little ten year olds that seem to own PS3s. When I play online I don’t really get that feeling but this blog proves the fact beyond a reasonable doubt.

  • @63

If you really NEEDed a new PS1 game every week, you’d go buy a PS1 and a buy a new game every week. Quit b****ing!

  • @Morox… I mean torox
You want RPG’s, get folklore, or wait for ff13 or white knight story, you want adventure games, Get Uncharted, Heavenly sword or any of the other 3rd party non exclusive games, you may have a point about the crappy ports, but that is slowly changing. So please don’t describe the PS3 with the qualities of another certain white console.

  • all I want is a comparable amount of content for my PSP. comparable to the amount of content that Japanese PSP Users get.

I don’t see what is wrong with that, for you folks who blindly accept everything that Sony does as perfect no matter, to get on people’s cases for complaining.

The Japanese PSP store is chock full of all sorts of Japanese gaming goodness. The North American store has a pretty minimal amount of content by comparison.

and the minimal content that we get, very, very few pieces of it are actually worth buying or downloading. I mean seriously…Neopets? Who is going to buy that?

  • Skimming through the comments I expected MUCH MORE trolling about lack of PSONE games… for a bunch of playstation owners you guys sure do like betching out the company everytime they dont fulfill your ultimate dreams, hopes, and desires.

I, for one, love all shooters. Keep up the great work.

  • eh. I really guess I can’t complain much. Sony’s doing their part to help me save money, I guess.

  • This is a poor update, which is nothing new. Games like Pain and everyday shooter still are not out in Europe alone with half the stuff thats on very update. And dont give me the BS about different regions. I under stand some stuff like movie trailers etc or some content can’t always come out at the same time but we are talking about 60% of the update every week. In Europe we get content on Xbox Live at the same time, why cant you do this too sony?

Also wants up with stuff only coming out once a week. We should be getting stuff every day.

Now i am sure all you fan boys who are saying “sweet update every week” will come alone and say “nothing is free on Live” etc etc. But you know what you are fan boys! If you cant see that the PSN Store is offering a poor service, you are a fan boy. There is some stuff I like about the store, but sony it need a lot of work. This is stuff you need to sort out before even thinking about Home.

We are sick of being second class in Europe sony and where the hell is thr GT5 Demo for the rest of the world (apart from Japan).

Right go on tell me I am an Xbox fan boy because I know you will but the fact is i am not. I love my PS3 Uncharted is one of the best games I have ever played I could wright pages (and have done) on how great that game is.

  • @65 Uh what? There is a big difference between PSOne downloadable games and PS1 CD titles.

Perhaps if you owned a PS3 you’d know the difference.

  • @sargemat

You are a fanboy, I am sorry I couldn’t resist.

  • 1) PSN is ugly. Sooo ugly.

2)Updates once a week? Did SONY just discover the interwebs?

3)The loyal PS3 owners have no say the least bit in what content we want on the store.

Regardless, i’m not gonna betch like a four year old girl about not seeing what *I WANT* regardless of how many people in the world could give a cr*p less about seeing it. You get what you pay more, and guess what, the PSN is (mainly) free.

I don’t understand the regional BS but until any of us spearhead a billion dollar company and find out how hard (or conversly – easy) it is, we won’t know why SONY decides to restrict its content.

  • I would really like to see the some of the working designs catalog on the PSN store at some point. 4 Arc the Lad games (Arc I-III + Monsters) are on the JP store, as well as Alundra.

Theres a bunch of other games that had US releases that are currently on the JP store that would be great to get here as well. R-Type Delta, Jumping Flash 2, Crash 3, and Silent Bomber all came out here.

  • *pay for

    @Knavex

You’re quickly becoming my favorite poster

  • @KnaveX
“Worst update ever you say? Well ‘ever’ must have started yesterday.”

    QFT!
I love how people don’t seem to understand the difference between “want” and “need”.

I may not be doing a happy dance for this update, but I’m far from lighting a pitchfork. Like Cpt Blue said, until we run a billion dollar company (or learn what it takes to program and deliver the content), we’re all going to accept the fact that some weeks will be better than others.

  • Nice update. Next can we get some PSP demos on the PS Store for the PC? As well as some demos for games like UT3, COD:4, Orange Box, and the like please?

  • Chill out dudes. BTW, isnt there 2 special announcements tonight on the PSBLOG, that’s what that [DELETED] over at IGN said…lol jk. But seriously, is there anything…umm…”Planned” for tonight?

  • So when are we getting these announcements that IGN said were going to be made on the blog tonight?

  • @ Gunwing – I second all of that and don’t forget the PS3 store! I want to see more compatibilty across the PSN. I wanna see PSP demos on the PS3 store and PC store.

@ Sony – Can we ever expect to see some PS2 best seller games on the PSN??? That would be awesome, oh yeah and make them remote play compatible! Sorry bout being so picky.

    Peace,
    Lh

  • I can see why Sony doesn’t reply in the weekly store updates, to many rude people whining about stuff they get for free. We don’t always get great updates, sometimes they are horrible, but you take what you can get. Sometimes we get awesome updates. Just because you don’t like the stuff doesn’t mean others don’t.

  • SONY! GIVE US SOME GOOD PS1 GAMES FOR GODS SAKE! SONY! GIVE US SOME GOOD PS1 GAMES FOR GODS SAKE!SONY! GIVE US SOME GOOD PS1 GAMES FOR GODS SAKE!SONY! • I think what people don’t understand is why Sony isn’t making available more PAID content.

I’m not asking for free this and that. I desperately want to give Sony my money for PSN games and PSOne games. Is that such a bad thing?

Sony has an enormous back catalog of PSOne games. The Japanese PSN store already has at least 100 titles available. I don’t understand why SCEA doesn’t release more US titles for us to BUY.

Other companies feed us back catalog games on a weekly basis and they sell. I’m just wondering why Sony can’t get their act together and do the same of the PS3/PSP.

  • I agree with #50

  • I’m an older gamer in my 40’s and I would like to know, what happens to my funds that are held hostage by your monetary system? i.e. I have $15.00 in my account to purchase whatever, how do I retrieve those monies? if I chose not to support any game on PSN?

  • @ backbreaker65 – consider the money that you put into your “wallet” on the PSN money spent. I don’t believe that its possible to get that money back once you put it there. Sorry if I’m wrong… Anyone else here know if you can get it back?

    Peace,
    Lh

  • @83

Grow up. Call Sony. Get a better job.

  • I’ll give anyone from Media Molecule $200 for a unfinished version of Little Big Planet STAT!

  • man all hese whiners!!! if you dont like the update then go to the mvies and see the eye or something else. well this is a pretty good FREE update. did i mention its FFFFFRRRRREEEEEEEEE!!!!!! M$ likes to yank out their customers money dont they. @ whinees, go back in time and look at the playstation store in may. we BARELY got any updates lets say about once a month or ONCE every 2 months.

  • why no wipeout pulse for the us?

  • You blind fanboys really have issues. Post #81, by Snap, hit it on the head. I mean, if it would get Sony to release more PSOne games and other paid content so I can get use out of my system, I’d happily pay for online service. I don’t get how MS, who updates throughout the work-week with content that I can buy as either a Gold or Silver subscriber, wants my money, but Sony prefers to continue giving me reason to regret purchasing my PS3. It’s that simple—I want to give Sony more money so I can get more use out of my PS3, but SCEA at least is refusing, and that refusal suggests for me to go play another console. Which I do. So trying to compare XBL to PSN is no contest when it comes to the marketplace in the US—MS has it right, SCEA does not. Getting free crap doesn’t mean anything unless you are a cheapskate—you can only use so many themes and wallpapers at a time anyway.

Blindly accepting/ignoring the problems with the PS Store isn’t helping Sony. SCEA is running it poorly. I have no problem with them putting stuff out weekly, and weeks of content go by that doesn’t interest me—that’s great! But putting out nothing for weeks at a time makes those rare releases of stuff I don’t want all the more disappointing (like everything but WildArms, the only one I have bought so far). PS Store in Japan is doing things right, imo, and I heap praise on them for doing so (especially since they released on the PSN Intelligent Qube and also released the PS2 Intelligent Qube back in the day).

Of course, the Folklore team and Harmonix deserve praise for releasing so much content!

  • You get what you pay for

    PSN = free

Just watched the Bad Company video, cannot wait for the game, looks like this may finally be a shooter with solid character development and endless interaction possibilities

  • When is the PS3 System Update?
im getting sick of how we still dont have a in game XMB or Custom Soundtrack in every game.My friend has a 360 n he always talks about how he can and i cant say i can and i played $600 for a PS3 im not tryin to hate on da PS3 its ok but it sucks i cant do dat

  • seriously…
can sony do something about the bad demos?

  • Okay, now I’m concered half of you have never even heard of NeoPets? How can you have no clue about one of the biggest hits of web based gaming in the last decade. And none of you think being given a peek at Conflict isn’t worth taking advantage? Moreover, what is all this bellyaching about seeing some games get nearly weekly updates!

We want games getting updated like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Folklore have seen. Itt teaches other developers what is possible and should be expected when games get updates like that.

Hey, Sony keep it up because some of these people are insane cranks.

  • Oh I have a clue about Neopets. I’m never going to buy a Neopets game. and I don’t know anyone who is even remotely interested in a Neopets game on PSP. Yet that is the *only* thing that was added to the PSP Store this week.

    BUT IT, IT’S FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The Japanese Store got like 6 PSP Demos/Games. how much do THEY pay for their PS Store?

The Hong Kong PS Store got 6 or 7 things to check out. How much do THEY pay for the PS Store?

I guess the “Its Free, MS Makes you pay” crutch is going to be the standard fallback like, right?

News Flash – PS Store users in other countries get their service for FREEEEEEEEE as well, and they get taken care of MUCH better.

Another News Flash: Not everyone has the Almighty George Foreman Grill. Some of us would like to use the PS Store to download stuff to our PSP. Novel concept, eh?

PS3 Owners shouldn’t be complaining about this PS Store Update.

But PSP Users have a very legitimate gripe.

  • gah. that should say “fallback line”

  • @89 Well said.

I’ve got to spend Sony and I’d much rather give to you because of your DRM policies. XBL Marketplace DRM = the devil and don’t wish it upon my worst enemy.

The Japanese PSN store is doing it right. They get more than one update a week and they have large back catalog of PSOne games.

Again, Sony, I want to give you money for downloadable PSOne games and PSN games. $$$

  • If Sony truly wants the Playstation store to be a success then give the customer what he wants. I would give my money to Sony to spend on PS1 games if they updated the store with more updates like twice a week instead of just once. The Japanese PSN store is doing great with releasing more content than the North Amercian version. Why not give the US version the same treatment as other stores get across the world.

  • @ 11, the “other console” got GRAW2 Download content. Or do you not read other news? It’s not fair that xbox gamers get more from companies that “Used” to be loyal only to Sony! Uber Carpy update!

I thought I made myself clear about the folklore dlc.
