Not the worst update but I always wonder what the hell is going on with US accounts store with PS1 games?

My wifes Japanese and we go back to Japan a lot so we have one account setup on Japanese region and I see lots of games there for PS1 for the PSP. Pretty damn sure you guys can release more than one PS1 game per update… Japan has 5-10 every 2 weeks…

This is how many games out in the Japan region:

22 Action
27 RPG
21 Simulation
23 Adventure
10 Shooting
4 Sports
8 Racing
15 Puzzle
9 Table games
13 Other
152 Games in Japan Region

now US Region: 21 games

Whats going on here? LOL, I know people didn’t buy the PS3 for PS1 games but pretty sure it will keep some people from b******g about junk updates. + might increase sales on PSP systems imo.

I can careless about all this stuff. All I know is, we got in-Shirt XMB! Blew my mind for GDC 2008.

I’m loving the blog’s coverage of GDC. Sony was even nice enough to make a poll an ask us which method do we prefer. “I chose Video personally” LOL

way to disapoint again sony :) there use to be a time where you could not wait to get home from school and see what comes out. now how ever we get crap stuff. And there is really no point to even check. If you want to beat the wii stop saying you are getting all these cool things and not letting the people who did buy your system try them or even tell them about what is going on. We have no idea what is going on for home or when the next update is coming out or anything. All of our games that are good either are getting pushed back or we just dont hear anything about them. This is suppose to be sony’s year, yet nothing has happend but you getting our hopes up and then crushing them every week.

bond2e2 said:

February 21st, 5:36 pm

and how are you suppose to get other people to buy your system if you can not even keep the people who have your system happy. Also thanks for keeping us updated on the GDC. O wait you have told us nothing, just gave us a stupid video with people singing. Some one should tell us what is going on, or at least a moderater should post something

Solace said:

February 21st, 5:42 pm

Not the best update, but not the worst. No surprise really since GDC’s going on this week. And for those of you who are whining why Sony didn’t have any big announcements like last year or like M$ did this year, maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with the fact that Sony neither had a press conference like they do at E3, nor did they have a keynote speech like they did last year at GDC.
Stop. Think. Then Comment.
Seriously, some people put unreasonable expectations in things. I guess that that’s what comes from being a child and having no perspective of the real world or what is truly important.
If coming home on Thursdays to see what’s on the PlayStation Store is the highlight of your life, well, you might want to think about expanding your horizons, reading a book, or going outside – the fresh air could do you some good. Might I recommend playing in the street?

bond2e2 said:

February 21st, 5:47 pm

or maybe just maybe, people do read and go outside and do stuff. but they also want to know what is going on with the big games and things going on in sony. Never said it was the highlight far from it, just it was cool to do.

Ghostm said:

February 21st, 5:48 pm

I love it when Solace shows up on the PS blog to try to belittle everyone. Classic!!!

Ghostm said:

February 21st, 5:50 pm

One thing I’ve realized about our buddy Solace is that he is a pure Sony fanboy and Sony can never do no wrong in his eyes.

Well, I hope you got your In-Shirt XMB tee.

Kazammm said:

Believe it or not, it could be time for Playstation. Time for Sony to move forward from it’s slow start. I mean, its been about a year from HOME’s announcement. You guys got me all excited for my PS3 and its possibility’s. However, nothing is moving forward, at least from a players view. It’s not just HOME too, In-Game XMB, and first party and exclusive games. You guys have a chance now, to really go for the gold, but its almost as if you are going to blow it again.

Thanks for your tool worthy post. How about this…

Why didn’t Sony have any form of keynote? Why didn’t Sony have a presence on the show floor? Why did Sony have a blogger/media lounge in the W Hotel across the street? Why did Sony isolate themselves from the game developers so much? What is Sony trying to hide?

Many of us have spent thousands (or several thousands) of dollars on Sony Playstation products. We’re asking for communication. The first thing any decide company would do is communicate with their consumer base.

This blog was suppose to be that. It was a great first step. However, when pumping up the GDC like it was the next coming of E3, Sony has fallen flat on their face. We’ve gotten… TWO GDC related updates on the blog and both were quite silly. And then we’ve gotten several tweets, also quite silly. No real information, no earth shattering news, nothing that shows the value of the money I’ve spent on the platform.

Going outside has nothing to do with Sony and their lack of updates. We’ve had patience for more than a year now in regards to Home. We’ve had patience for more than a year now in regards to cross game messaging and cross game invites.

All we got was a lousy fusking t-shirt.

I have something to say about the XMB, in the first post about the GDC someone commented about the shirts. And then Jeff put that nothing was going to happen that it was them being checeky. WHY ARE YOU BEING CHEECKY??????? XBOX HAS HAD THAT FOR HOW LONG, and now you are bragging how you are going to get that for the ps3. But you wont tell anyone when or inofrmation about just say it is coming soon. You should get your act together

bond2e2 said:

February 21st, 6:21 pm

i am not trying to bash jeff, i think he is cool. But i am sick of not knowing anything. It is true we hear how great the ps3 is but we dont see what it can do we just hear about it

“No real information, no earth shattering news, nothing that shows the value of the money I’ve spent on the platform.”

Their presentation is tomorrow. Patience is a virtue. GDC lasts a week. More posts will come after GDC, things take a while to edit, as well as “butter up.” This is a very formal blog and they just can’t post random crap. The press, the consumers, and stock holders all read this blog.

Sony needed a lounge@ GDC….LOL,WTF!?

Aint they taking long enough on…….

1. Home
2. in game XMB
3. US ps1 games
4. Localizing ANY game
5. Releasing news.

ALSO!!! Did the word cruelty come to any other peoples minds when you seen in shirt XMB?! I was insulted seriously, it was like a starving person being slapped in the face with food, LOL

SONY, cant live with them, cant live without them…..

Yes ok it was a bad update, but don;t cry and make a long post for that… just enjoy your own games or buy games…

What I’m mad about is for the in game xmb that it;s a feature that needed since day one… I will wait to tuesday for that…

Ghostm said:

Pretty good update. I already have the God of War demo since I reserved it at Gamestop. Now that Sony is done with the Jet Moto series, could we see the Syphon Filter series get completed with Syphon Filter 2 & 3? Or maybe another series like Twisted Metal 1&3&4, Cool Boarders 2&3 , Tekken 1&3, Sypro 2&3 , Wild Arms 2, Destruction Derby 2.

Don’t go preaching patience at me. I’ve got nothing but patience when it comes to Sony and Playstation.

What I don’t have is respect for a company that takes my money, promises me great things, then delivers nada.

I jumped the Xbot ship because I was treated like a criminal when my Xbot got the RRoD virus. All the money I spent on downloadable games became worthless due to their DRM implementation and lack of brain power.

Yet, here I am again. This time they took my money and ran. “Year of the Playstation”? “Year of Blu-ray” more like it. If Sony thinks that they can just ride off into the sunset over their recent Blu-ray victory, think again. It really is about the games. It’s about the community. Mary Jane and Joe Doe won’t be buying a Blu-ray player until they’re $50 at Wal-mart due to a rollback.

Sony, we the gamers are paying to keep the Playstation platform afloat. Treat us like it.

bond2e2 said:

xbox sucks, well it is not that bad i am just a sony guy. but sony has been pissing me off latly with not telling us anything they just keep saying how great it is going to be just wait and see. but i am sure by the end of the year no longer that there will be a lot to do on the playstation

Gregero said:

February 21st, 7:12 pm

You know why Sony hasn’t given a release date on the DS3? Because they like the Japanese Playstation camp more. Look at the PS Store- they get sooo many PSOne games, they get games up to almost a year before the U.S. and Europe. Is converting Japanese to English? It can’t be because it only takes a couple of months to convert English games into the many languages in Europe. Also, they get all these really nice promotions and different colored systems… The list goes on. Main thing is (and I dare Sony to say different)- is that Sony likes it’s Japanese market more than any other market. I like My PS3, but damn Sony is whack when it comes to treating man fairly.

Snap said:

“Sony’s GDC booth had the Japanese build of Minna no Golf Portable 2 on display. However, the title art above called it Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2. I don’t believe this has been formally announced, but this is a pretty solid indicator it’s getting localized.”

Gee,, don’t you think you could let us know you’re showing Open Tee 2? At least confirm it’s coming in the next 2 years…

All I want is some damn RPGs for this system. I don’t understand why I’m playing more RPGs on my 360. It doesn’t make any sense, the Playstation 3 is a Japanese console and yet the 360 is crushing the PS3 in with it’s RPGs.

Heck just recently it was announced that Tales of Vesperia is for the 360. That’s one more RPG to buy for the 360, one less exclusive game to the PS3.

February 21st, 7:25 pm

why dont your sony guys try to post demos of games like 5, metal gear solid 4, army of 2, kill zone and many other good games that are coming out instead of this things that you release today.
you dont have to reply i know you guys never do it. playstation network is free and you guys thing that it is enought. that is why i got my self an xbox360 elite.

solace is right. the updates have seen better days but that doesn’t mean i won’t be all over jet moto and all the other content that sony has provided this week. thanks guys.

The god of war demo was very awesome. Although I encountered some odd frame drops I assume these are due to this being a fairly early demo (since it was released on umd way back). Ready at Dawn have done one hell of a good job on this game. Definitely picking this one up to tide me over until god of war 3 starts it’s hype machine rolling. said:

Ghostm is quickly becoming the voice of the PS3 masses.

In shirt XMB, SONY just laughed in our faces like we were poor dirty children begging to step in from the rain to their marble foyer and lush persian rugs.

I’m pretty pissed right now, not at the update (which is always average) but the secretive, piss poor marketing strategies of SONY.
