We need to know if the next PS3 system update will be out soon! BTW: whats up with the PC store getting the shaft? We had some killer releases last week and you say “These games” but all I see are two PSP videos.

Wow. I know Sony can’t force developers to make demos and what not, but seriously what about localizing some of the Japanese psn games so there is a stock of psn games ready to shore up slow weeks?
At the very least, Dark Mist should have been localized for the US and European markets by now.

I have money to spend so it’s upsetting there isn’t any new games each week. Giving us a PSOne game per week should be standard fare, period. It’s lazy of SCEA to not release at least one PSOne per week for the rest of the PS3’s lifespan. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Now, I love DLC. I’ve spent over $700 on it with my Xbox 360 and about $200 on the Wii. So far with the PS3 I’ve spent about $200 but would like to spend more. I want new PS3 downloadable games, I want PSOne games for my PSP and PS3, I want more PSP downloadable games. I understand expansions to existing games take time, like for Pixeljunk Monsters, PAIN, etc. Again, PSOne games should be a walk in the park.
If Nintendo can release 2~3 new virtual console games per week and Microsoft can release at least 1 arcade game per week the LEAST that SCEA could do is release ONE PSOne game PER WEEK. There is no excuse for not releasing a PSOne game per week, NONE.
I’ve spent $250 on a PSP (Launch day), $500 on a PS3, and other funds on digital content. I want more digital content. SCEA promised us a PSP store 3 years ago. We finally got one and then completely dropped the ball. Horrible update.

It took them about 3 months to localize Everyday shooter for us in Europe, and how much localizing was there to do in that game? Not a lot.
Seperating the regions was a horrible idea, and just allowed certain areas to be screwed over, nothing more. the store is the embodiment of this.
The rating for this update says it all, 1.5 stars.

If we had a person that could tell us what going on with the Playstation Store, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. However you get these crappy updates, and interviews like the John Hight one, and you think the PS Store is doing great? No its terrible, and to be honest after seeing this update that interview was terrible, because what the interviewer needed to be asking, is what is the current state of the Playstation Store, and what kind of versatility can the Playstation Store offer. Really relevant questions. John Hight says Sony doesn’t believe in Demos. Okay fair enough, I’ll give you, however if I give you that point, don’t you think its only right that I should be able to get something out of the store that I might want, be it PSOne games, or downloadable games, etc. If you’re not going to offer demos, you better be offering something as its the whole point. If you not offering anything, then whats the point of even having the Playstation Store, might as well close shop and focus on some different aspects.
What the hell is up with these updates? no Home, not 1 demo, not anything! and why so much rockband crap, not everyone plays that game…..
Cant Sony see, that everyone hates these updates!! Give us better stuff!! your competition gives out better stuff and live marketplace is FREE as well!

I think Sony needs to offer us a piece of software that is able to rip our own PSone games to the PS3/PSP and add it’s little bit of protection, of course, so we can’t copy them because I am absolutely sick of waiting and I just want to be able to choose what I want to do myself since you guys can’t get it up soon enough yourself!

I just don’t understand how Japan already has hundreds of PS1 games for download and here in the U.S. we are lucky if we get even one.

All you guys complaining about there always being Rock Band content, speak for yourselves. Yeah, not everyone plays the game, but some of us DO. And it’s nice to see constant support for the fan base the game DOES have.
I love this blog, but it’s annoying how so many people throw such a fit over something like this… So there wasn’t a demo this week, so what? Life goes on, there are other demos in the store right now, and I’m sure you guys have at least 1 video game you haven’t beaten that’s calling for your attention…
I have no complaints about this update. However, I would love to see the WipEout HD trailer from GDC on the PSN. Because watching that with surround on my HD TV would be pretty sweet! That’s pretty much the only thing on my PSN wish list right now apart from the game itself… and of course Home. A WipEout theme would be awesome too!

Terrible update, seriously compared to Live, PSN is a joke.
Come on Sony give us something worthwhile. How about some PS1 RPGs? How about any RPGs while were at it. Both the Wii and 360 are gonna get a brand new Tales of game, while the PS3 once again gets nothing. I’m tired of waiting.
We must be reasonable. We all knew going in that the XBOX had more games, both in production and ready for play. The XBOX had a pretty big head start. It is only natural that we are dissapointed by the amount of good content for hard core gamers on the updates, but the fact is that we have purchased a product that is in it’s infancy and really does not have a whole lot of games on the horizon. Sony Eu and Japan are ran seperatly from Sony USA, and the developers are mostly in Eurpoe that are releasing any upcoming games taht we are excited about. You need to remember what to expect from Sony for now, and trust it will be better given their track record for stuffing as much tech into our living rooms as possible. ST*U and wait……

Regardless, I agree SONY SHOULD post a higher quality and quanity of content, but the fact is, they don’t. They didn’t last week. They didn’t months ago. They didn’t last year. And they won’t anytime in the future. Get used to it.
I would love to see Final Fantasy hit PSN. It would make a huge ammount of gamers jump on the PS3 for sure. FF1,2,3,4 were all on the PSone If I remember right. So thats 4 hit games that need to hit the US PS3 store, and PSP store fast!

Just goes to show how much people pay attention. We aren’t complaining that there is RB content, we are complaining because RB content is all that is in the Store, in which like you not everyone plays, so its utterly ridiculous not to see any other content for those who don’t have RB. You’d feel the same way probably. It isn’t all about Demos. We’d want Downloadable games and PSOne games as well, however Sony isn’t coming out with this content, thus we wait faithfully every week for some good content to have fun with and week in and week out, we get nothing. Its utterly stupid to focus on one group of users. IMO is Sony goes under (Lord Forbid it happens) but if it does, it’ll be Just Desserts.
You guys should see the Europe/Australia/New Zealand PAL update. Two game trailers. Thats it. Thats all.

You are obviously clueless. I own Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, and they are better then every RPG on the PS3 because there is no quality exclusive RPG on the PS3.
And I am looking forward to FFXIII, it’s just too bad that it’s not going to come out till 2010.
I have to agree with what some other people said here. It’s like we all wait for Thursdays and get excited because we never know what’s going to come but it seems about once every 5 weeks there’s something actually cool in the store but the inbetween weeks there’s hardly anything worth notice. Ya know it’s pretty said that lots of people feel the need to create accounts to all the psn stores, just to feel like they can grab something worth their time.

In response to the haters, I love the videos, and I hope Sony keeps it up and even increases the number of trailers available from the store. Movie trailers are great fun and when you don’t go to the movies every week, its a nice way to keep up on what’s coming out.
Its nice to see more content for Rock Band and GH3 even though I own neither game, so I’m not going to complain about that either.
I would however love to see some new video from Home or other upcoming games, as well as an updated browser with better performance and virtual memory support (since the browser keeps running out of memory on me).
Mostly though I’d like to see an update to PAIN that allows saving and sharing (and maybe exporting as video) of replays. I /should/ be able to save a replay and toss it to one of my friends on the PSN to watch, but I can’t, ugh.
Does anyone know if Sony is planning to start releasing Rock Band content earlier? I get all excited about the tracks when they’re announced monday, then get pissed off the next day when my roommate has the option to get them on his 360. I’m American, I hate waiting.

WTH are you talking about, this isn’t about XBL vs PSN, we don’t care if XBL has more games available or in production, we haven’t seen a Downloadable games nor PSOne titles (Ones that people actually want, rather than JetMoto :|). Japan Store has the most impressive and intensive PSOne collection, yet we don’t have half of what JP PSN has, and EU PSN is getting screwed over as well. Its ridiculous, especially if you want to bring numbers into account, hailing the fact, that NA and EU have the higher numbers of PS3’s Sold opposed JP, yet we get shafted, its dumb and ridiculous. Usually I won’t rant like this, however I’m tired of being an abused PSN User, obviously Sony doesn’t feel I’m important or my money isn’t good enough.
Apparently Rock Band & Guitar Hero lovers are going to love this update. Everyone else…not so much

I absolutely agree with the lack of content, I’m not disagreeing with you guys there at all. I also have accounts for the JPN, HK and Euro stores you know. But what I was really getting at in my comment was how unreasonable those who felt that they deserved freebies because they paid $600+ for a PS3 were.
Going back to the content however, specifically PS1 games, I think there’s GOT to be some reasonable explanation as to why certain regions like Japan and Hong Kong get way more PS1 games. From what little I know and read, perhaps it has to do with the game’s distribution rights for the USA vs how they were contracted in the other regions. A lot of how a game gets distributed, monetary payment structures I imagine have to be worked out before a game can just pop up on the store I think.

@ 87 I hear you PSP Man, i have learned to accept that with the PS3 comes some good and some bad. If I determine that because Sony has no available downloadable content this week or next, it means that they have forgotten about us, or do not want our money i will end up just getting pissed every week. If i believe that Sony wants to make money, and is carefully positioning themselves to bring together several components to create a more immersive experience, then i can wait for the PS3 to mature. If i want to play little download games and get new content every week, with no game plan on the horizon to further our experience, and proabably need to buy an XBOX 4 to keep up with the PS3, which was engineered from Day one to be a 10 year machine that can be upgraded and improved, with an HDD and Blu Ray drive. I just think you can jump up and down and rant “I want an oompaloompa now” or relax and trust that Sony knows what they are doing.

I just dont get sony sometimes. There are literally thousands of PSOne games and they cant even put out at least one ps1 game per week, thats sad. While sony japan already has 100 ps1 games give or take. What is up with you guys, not everybody has or wants to play Guitar hero or rock band….so we’re left out. Also i see that sony loves the WAITING game…….everybody wants in-game xmb, still waiting…..everybody wants home beta at least, still waiting…..what about the sony games, gotta wait for that too……wait, wait, wait, wait thats all you guys do. Sony wouldn’t be getting comments like this if they would just let everybody know whats going on…or put a damn date on it.
