PSOne… did SCEA just completely forget about it? Japan got 4 more games just this week alone.
Another weak update. PAIN characters… meh. Themes… meh. Videos… meh. Toy Home… meh.

I agree with #41. If you don’t have demo for this week, you can try at least re-releasing games from PS1. You’ll make money that way. I don’t know how much is it to convert the game from PS1 format to support both PSP/PS3. If Japanese store can get theirs, why can’t us? One thing I notice from Sony is that they’re slow in everything.

Get off their nuts? its a decent, maybe ‘nice’ update to me because i have GHIII, there’s a bunch of new themes to download and i got a PSP to give Wipeout a try. Thats all. Not blabbering about this being an amazing update, dont give a rats’ ass about baseball, toy home or any of the game videos (at least this week).
Once again, no PS1 game, and a lame demo that I wont even bother to download. What a waste of manpower over at Sony…

Nothing against the PSone games because I love quite a few games for the system but it’s funny that there is so little for new material that we want Sony to hurry up and get all those games up there so we can pay for them again…
how about just some software they can sell us to convert them for our PS3 ourselves, and if they work for the PSP, good. :)
Anyways though, I’d love to see all of Square’s games added, I’d be willing to buy/play them all again! :D

Japan got Spyro the Dragon, Addie no Okurimono, Gakkou wo Tsukurou,
Kawa no Nushi Tsuri yesterday. I am beginning to wonder why Japan has been getting PS1 games lately while we only got Jet Moto 3 a couple of weeks ago. Its like Sony stopped because of the compliments of PS1 games are on PSN. The God of War theme and wallpaper are cool and will look nice on my psp. I might also download the Wipeout Pulse demo. I am hoping to see a PS1 game next week if possible.
Sorry, but this week don’t have any other game to come in shelves?
I agree with convicsik (aka @41). Sony need to think before release new updates. This update is almost useless than the last week.
I Don’t have Rock Band or Guitar Hero III, Pain is’nt that good game that need so much add-ons. Why not include some good things?
Xbox Live has Condemned 2: Bloodshot and we not. They have demos for all Live Arcade titles… we don’t. Seriously guys, let’s get the work!
Themes, wallpapers, are fine. But I’ll not spend 10 bucks in a game that I don’t know that worth it.
Think in users. Is that you need to have in mind. Think if they really will like of updates. Talk with publishers to send some demos to PS3 too.
I only have a PS3, the best system today, but I, and all PS3 users, need more cool things in PS Store. I know that is possible. This is the only thing you guys need to workout.

We all just bought the PS3 because of the potential, is it ever going to pay off? Or do we have to wait till the holidays. Is anyone else just completely frustrated with Sonys performance here?
I really don’t want to buy a 360, but it has a way better online community/games that will keep us busy until Sony gets their act together. This is coming from a die hard psx/ps2/ps3/sony electronics consumer.
you guys are kicking every single one of us in the pants and have been doing so since launch. You guys have managed to get enough suckers in with the success of the PS2. Good luck in the future, this isn’t the way to keep your consumers happy.
I’m not going to pretend that its free, and I shouldn’t complain. Last time I checked, I paid 600 dollars for my ps3. I’d rather PAY money to get decent updates/and a friends list that I can actually use to message/launch/invite games.
Completely unhappy with Sony. The PS3 is a slap in the face of the PSX/PS2. You guys are ruining the brand.

@62 (willacuz): Kinda harsh, but alot of us are in the same boat. I’ve owned it since Nov. 17th of 2006 and I’m still waiting for all the stuff we were promised at launch.
Sony will get there someday but they’ve proven they’re a hardware company first and a software company….third or fourth.
I already paid a lot for toy home considering its not much content wise. I am not paying $7 for a 100k file that only has two more tracks… Come on, $7 is way too much.

If we are going to continue to get these low-end updates that interest about 5%-10% of the PS3 population, then the least Sony can do is expedite the time it takes for patches for games already released (CoD4, UT3, etc) to be distributed to end-users.
As much as I love my PS3, I’m hoping this isn’t a ploy to force gamers to pay extra for prompt service and value updates in the future… cause that’s one factor that sold me on purchasing the PS3 over the 360 in the first place.

What the hell is up with all of these Pain character downloads? Weren’t we promised a new stage to play in, themed around each character? If you guys really think we’re going to pay a buck a pop to play with new characters in that one level everyone has been bored of since January you’re sadly mistaken. Bundle up the character with their themed stage for two or three bucks and we’re having a conversation, until then just stop releasing this crap. It only pisses off those of us who paid $10 for the demo to see it not even be supported.
Excuse me but I am getting tired with all these “updates”… I bought very expensive console ($1000 USD), then bought 13 games and 10 BR movies so I hope I deserve a little better Store than you provide me for last couple weeks. I don’t want to pay antoher $100+ (yes, the PS3 games are THAT expensive in my country) for a game I didn’t try before – that’s quite an expensive hobby.
I would even like to pay some reasonable monthly fee to get really LIVE store with frequent updates inlcuding latest demos, movie trailers and other stuff. Not the so called “updates” you bring us every week. Please, do something, I want to entertain, not to be *CENSORED* every week seeing another PAIN character or GUITAR song… Thank you very much!
I think a weekly update is great, and I know it can not always be great. I just wish we could have in game…….. LOL jk I would like a Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge demo like the Japan site got what two three months before the full prolouge release.

Look, I have bought Call of Duty 4 for PlayStation 3 just because the reviews. But I did not tested on my system before it. Insted, all 360’s owners have tried the demo on Xbox Live.
Now we know that MGS4 will not have a demo. GTA4 either. Of course we do know these are great games and we all will buy those games on 1st day. But we do need to know where we will spend our money. Do we have the demo of Lost: Via Domus? No. Do we will have the demo of R6 Vegas 2? No. So I think it’s time to getting closer with publishers and tell them there is no charge to do a demo for PS3 — or it have?
Getting off the demos, yesterday you released the trailer of Motorstorm 2 on internet, why this trailer is not in PS Store?
Please, work harder. Much harder. Don’t do what are you doing with your fans. I’m very sad with this situation.

Anyway, good update, and a free GHIII Pack? Cool! Also, the themes are so large because they seem to change the background, which is sweet. Only a few more Thursday updates until Home, right??
Another sucky update. At this rate they’ll have all the PS One games added by 2050.
Now… Why the crap was the firmware update mandatory when all it did was fix Final Fantasy XI, which very few people play, and PS3 fans probably don’t have a subscription for anymore if they’re using their PS3 for PS2 games. What a waste of time, you should have included this functionality in a future update that had more important things, like, say, the accomplishments or x-game invites or x-game communication or the ability to send video over PSN mailboxes or bringing Bluray to profile 2.0 or SOMETHING.
Well you would think the wuld “LISTEN” to us, wouldn’t you? We pay the salary. Hell I’d like to fire a couple peeps. I bet I could run things better for 1 month than most of the marketing and pr peeps they have working there. Jeff does a great job and Grace braves the blog every week. She shouldn’t have to brave the blog though. She should have praise from us. Do you see it? Not since Omega Dawn came out. We are really starting to ALL get fed up. You want to be a SUCCESS? Just wanted to say that my PSP is getting used more than ever. (Have had one since launch, upgraded to the 2000) With the Playstation store for PSP- keep this up, God of War COO- great game, Beats, PSone classics, FFVII Crisis Core- around the cornner, Patapon- another great game

GH III and Rockband content isnt a “Sony” thing.
Harmonix and Activision provide these updates everyweek, for Sony to pass along. Thats why I dont take these songs into account when I give my opinion. And my opinion stands. The was another disposable thursday.
And Pain skins are becoming Oblivion Horse Armor, and im sure alot of you know what I mean by that.

the GOW theme was another highlight. Viking looks like a generic attempt at another GOW.

I am the biggest PS fanboy you’ll ever meet. I refuse to buy any other consoles or systems.
The PS Store updates are so crappy. They wouldn’t be so bad if Sony would just give everybody the same thing in all regions.

I think I’m going to disagree with you on that one. Unless it’s some big major title I don’t think it needs to go to every region. I think the reason the Japan store gets so much attention is because they know what they want. The sad thing is I don’t think they have someone, or maybe they don’t have the right people now, to represent what the U.S. wants.
IMO, it’s just plain pathetic. I want nothing more but to spend my money on games and downloads. But they have to be there and they have to be worthy. And IMO paying 1/8th the cost of a new game on an old PSOne game isn’t worth it either. I still stand by my 3 dollar/4 dollar limit for old PSOne remakes.
OK at first i tho this update was pretty good but i changed my mind i like the new temes except for the pain ones the demo is fake n boring probaly going to be one of the worst baseball games but w,e the gh3 add on was free witch is always awesome but come on those songs are the stupidiest songs ive ever heard if ur going to give us some free songs give us good ones
Nice update. Not interested in the demo, but it is nice that there is one. As to the complaints, I have both, Live doesn’t get a demo of a retail game ever week either.

All the paid stuff would be a lot more useful to me if I had some of those pre-paid cards that should be out already. That way I could enjoy all those Rock Band songs.
But as of now, and until you decide it’s finally the right time to release the cards; I guess I must do what I’ve done for the past year: download the free stuff.

@79: you do realize that every game you are demanding a demo for are 3rd party games? Do you have first hand knowledge if there are demos for those games on the PS3 that were not released due to Sony’s decision? Maybe you should contact Ubi, Konami, et al. directly to demand those demos.
I do agree with others that I’d love to see demos for Hot Shots Golf or GT5:P as we know that Japanese versions of those exist. But I find it funny when people complain about Sony releasing some lame demo as if its there fault the 3rd party demo isn’t any good. I can just see it now: some Sony employee contacting 2K, “Hey, thanks for the demo of MLB 2K8 but we’ve decided against releasing it on the PSN because its lame.”
