Ferrari F2007: GT5 Prologue’s “God Mode”

75 4

Sometimes even the best kept secrets seem to find their way out – that’s just the nature of the beast – so it was no surprise (at least not much) when co-workers started to email us links to leaked Gran Turismo 5 Prologue screenshots… and the rumor mill it had kick-started.

Ferrari F2007

Amongst the thousands of questions asked, let’s tackle a few to start: first, this is indeed the Scuderia Ferrari F2007; second, that is the actual Ferrari red as sanctioned by the Ferrari team; and last but not least, the Ferrari F2007 will be available at all Gran Turismo Ferrari dealerships for 2 million game credits.

Ferrari F2007

With slick graphics, a 2.4 liter 90-degree V8 engine and the amazing physics of a F1 vehicle, the Ferrari F2007 is truly a beauty. Driving it is an adrenaline-pumping, hair-standing, goose-bumping experience… I hope everyone gets to experience this “God Mode within Gran Turismo”. Over the last couple weeks we’ve been driving this car in our offices every single day, with the volume cranked up… there is nothing more soothing than the high-rev scream of the Scuderia speeding down the Fuji straight…

More to come on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soon. In the meantime, check out these new screen shots.

  • ROLL ON NEXT THURSDAY!! UK gets something first! :)

  • I cant wait… but when is GT5 (normal) coming out?

  • yo these cars are beast!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it good to see this is not just a demo so i want know how long after the release will gt5 come out cause i dont want to spend 60 dollars 2 months after to get gt5

  • Can I get a yes or a no that there is going to be another F1 game? Pleeeease.

  • one thing thats been burning me for a while now: are you guys still working on getting the Lamborghini and Porsche licenses? what’s a true driving simulator when i can’t rip the ‘ring in a LP640 or a GT3 RS?

  • I have a question. I know there is full customization inside of the car, but will there be full car customization for the engine, brakes, suspension, etc. like in the other Gran Turismos, and if so, will it be in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and or Gran Turismo 5???

    THANKS!

  • @56 Tecknical – man I’d love to see a Lamborghini in the game. Even if it doesn’t perform as well as today’s models, I would buy the game solely to drive the white Countach of my dreams from 20 years ago.

@57 TheN1Armyguy – I think GT5Prologue runs over a bunch of stages, or car classes… starting with low grade cars and working up. Once you pass the first couple of classes you get access to various tuning options.
(..I think.. I read it in an early European review linked off the Threespeech site)

  • Is Sony making the next F1 game? It’s been awhile since F1 Championship edition came out…

  • Mr Imasaki, maybe you’re the person that the Gran Turismo community always expected to see: someone capable of stablishing a diologue with the players.

i’ve been a fan of the series since 1998, and i always wated to “talk” give ideas, complain, give compliments, you know, interact with the makers of the game that i love the most.

i even had a petition about this subject: (if you can read that…

i don’t have an xbox, but the interactvity that forza has with its players its the type of thing i dream of for GT.

example: we’re still scratching our heads without knowing if us (early adopters) will get an update in the japanese game, we still don’t know if the online play will be region locked or trully worldwide…

anyway, i know you’re a busy man. thanks for reading this, and congrats for not letting us down. GT5P looks and plays fantastic. take your time for the full game. in the meantime, how about giving us a clue for porsches, lamborghinis, maseratis… ?

  • Thanks for the responce timasaki!!

  • Taku Imasaki is the Man!!

  • This car made me want to get prologue, and I’m getting it day one for sure. Hopefully it will come on the 26th (one PS region site in europe is reporting) instead of the 28th.

Also EA’s Peter Moore said you guys still have the F1 rights, can someone confirm?

    Thanks alot.

  • I will be racing the high speed ring about 10,000 times to get this one:)

private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works… but will not be ready from day one. Will keep you posted on the progress!

Thank you so much for the updates Imasaki-san. Some of us were worried we would not be able to set our own rooms up and be able to use in-game chat. The chat is such an important feature in online racing to avoid crash-fests, and we’re mighty happy Polyphony Digital is working on it. :)

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a GT fans from Hong Kong, I have purchased the JP, and HK version of GT5P, however, I saw there are many new cars, track and features, etc in coming US ver of GT5P, I just wonder if JP/HK ver of GT5P would be updated as well to get the new car, track…..? I hope it would

  • When are you guys going to put GT1 and GT2 in the store? I need to replace my originals, which were destroyed. I really don’t want to go crawling to eBay and buy someone’s junk with no books, no cases, sometimes only the Arcade disc for GT2, maybe the come in a paper sleeve, and they ALWAYS cost too much!

Please, please give us GT1 and GT2. Many of us really miss Red Rock :(

  • Wow! F1! in Gran Turismo? this is like the most exciting GT5P news ever!!!!

Also, will there be like a Formula 1 related race championship or similar type of thing?

  • Sony and PD can you please get the DTM license? That would make a great touring car addition to the GT series. The Toca series (from Codemasters) use to have it in their Toca series, but now that they dropped it to go to the more Need for Speed route (:-[ ) they no longer will have it in the Toca/Grid series.

  • this is a dream come true for a formula 1 racing and video game fan.

  • “the Ferrari F2007 will be available at all Gran Turismo Ferrari dealerships for 2 million game credits.”

So does this mean the Japanese version of the game get updated to included the f2007 and other extras that are to be included in the EU/US releases?

  • thanks for the response in the other thread. i reposted hoping that i would get a reply.

thanks, makes me feel more confortable now that i know you guys are reading what we’re saying.

might be a small thing, but it means a lot.

time for me to keep working on ideas to improve the game!

    :)

  • My GT5 has just arrived :-). All i can say at the minute though is looooooooooong install time and when you think your done (if your online) theres a long download and install of an update :-(. Still waiting to play the game and its been here for over 20 minutes.

  • It’s 29th now, the Japan version can update the Spec II at 28th (some of my friends just got it), when should I wait for our HK-version’s update? I’m start saving Cr for this F2007 now, don’t let me wait too long!

Hi, sorry for my english… But do you know when it would possible to set our own rooms up and be able to use in-game chat ? I think it’s a very important point for some oh us.

Thanks a lot for your answer !

    • morlaroute,

Excuse my english as well :)
We cannot agree more that user-created rooms and in-game chat are very important.
As you know, Gran Turismo has always been popular for its beauty, realism and attention to detail. Unfortunately, until everybody in the world has optical fiber network running to their PS3s, for us, it is a battle btwn maintaining that \’Gran Turismo quality\’ vs. improving the various online capabilities.
I can\’t tell you exactly when, but we will make it happen. Thanks for being a patient fan.

  • What about LAN play?
It was great using several PS2s and having LAN races with GT4. Any chance that will be a prioritized functionallity for GT5 and GT P?

  • Very cool! Now I’ve got something to shoot for!

Just wish it was a McLaren! ;) It would be nice to have the top F1 team 8^D represented, and that mirror-finish would be great to see rendered in hidef!

    Still, nice job, folks! T-minus 14 days…

  • Private rooms for private races (preferably with live-chat) are indeed a must have feature.

But I must say that I’m disapointed to find out that ‘cheating’ is possible.
I have been trying some Time Trial records to find out that the best times are not clean perfect laps, but some rail bumping laps instead. That keeps the car on the road with excess speed on some corners. I’ve done it myself (Mikas24) on High Speed Ring, GT-R, Standard mode and same circuit, F430 Pro mode. Touching the rails should be ‘always’ penalised.

It could be great if this issue could be solve, although resetting the scores would also become mandatory.
It’s not pretty, nor fair to watch the best laps replays on the best car simulator, to find out that those records are made like that.
