They will be out next week on the 24th..or a week after if you are in Europe

    @248
Hey genius..I never said it wasn’t sucessful?? I know it’s hard to understand, but it’s a Sony Blog about the weekly update..Not Major Nelson’s blog.
So if you here to brag about your electronic box..please move on..

  • Good, update, i´m downloading some trailers.

I would buy the warhawk booster combo whit my PSN cards but …………………… we need it !!!

  • All this talk about XBOX “beating” PS3… certainly it has a larger base and sells more units but I remember playing Halo a few years ago while my black fiance sat beside me… after the third kid yelled something along the lines of “Kill that N-Word” I’d had enough. When I mute someone on the PSN its pretty much solely because their mic has horrible feedback

  • hmm… When I went to the game add-ons section I saw a PS2 software download thing, that allows you to download PS2 games to the Playstation 3… That HAS to mean that we’ll start to see Playstation 2 games on the store, right?

I liked most of the videos, but I was expecting a bit more… oh well, the PS2 download thing was cool… if only there were a game to go with it!

  • @Snap

Hah…I suppose that could be the reason.

I really just wish Sony would say why though…if they could take it down for a facelift, I’m sure they could take it down to change the update day. PS3ers with games on both systems (and those on the fence about one or the other) would appreciate it, I’m sure.

  • 4all the 360 suporters……..go to MS blog
the only reason you come here is because you know you waisted $$ on 360 and Sony just plain kicks thier butt!!

XBOX360 sux now and always has

  • @enewtabie

I’d love to post with my PSN id. That way SCEA can easily see that I put my money where my mouth is. You on the other hand just have a mouth.

  • @243

No, Sony implemented their worst DRM yet to GT5P. You buy it digitally you’ll need to stay logged in.

    Lame.

  • you think this is bad a ton of people from the PAL regions are starting to gather together and try to boycott SCEE.

looks like sony doesnt just lack here in the US

  • Not fond of the update. Not going to download anything this week, getting used to it.

Also, the words in the PS store are so small now, and the pictures take forever to load even with my 500Kb/sec download speed. Atleast the old store was SDTV friendly….

Anyways, here is hoping for some PS1 (or PS3) RPGs soon. (since I bought this machine in ’06).

  • @244

Because the Playstation 3, will continue to get crappy ports ala Condemned 2, Lost Planet, assuming they even get one.

And these updates are a part of it. They really aren’t enough for a company that is dead last. I bought HSG5, it is great game. It sold under 40,000 copies in the US. There was no marketing, the demo didn’t hit during the release week, nothing. Now it is off the new release walls/displays and a certified bomb. Heck I only knew about the game because I stop by the European store (which is so bad that it makes the US store look good in comparison) and tried the Everybody’s Golf World Tour (aka HSG5) demo.

  • well sony’s new PR team kind of sucks almost as bad as the last one.

i thought they were getting their act togather when those new commercials came out….since then…..nothing.

  • @slimer

My suggestion is buy a 360. Very simply put the PS3 isn’t getting many rpgs. It sells about 10k a week in Japan. The 360, which sells even less in Japan, will continue to get a couple of rpgs from Namco, (as they had bit of success with Idolmaster, and Tri-ace just dislikes the Playstation brand) and Mistwalker (which was founded with a large amount of money from MS and lead by Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame). ES, BD and LO v. nothing on the PS3.

  • not a great update given the 2 weeks without it, but a solid one, GT prolouge(granted i’ll be getting it on hard disc), warhawk expansion, some RB songs, and a patch that might get me to go buy liar since it’s now got analog control(apparently)

  • @ dojikyo (264)

Yeah, and you might be able to play half way through one before you have to send it in for repairs. Time to get lost troll.

  • @257
Actually ,I spend quite a bit on games and the PSN (trust me..its quite a bit.)and I don’t get butt hurt if something doesnt come out exactly on time or spout garbage on the blog..you should try it..
come on..you dont even have a PS3 do you?

  • @266

Better to play something halfway then play nothing at all. Enjoy your PS3 RPGs, oh wait…

It’s true though, the 360 has many exclusive RPGs, including a brand new Tales of game. It’s pretty sad to see a genre which was so well represented with the PS2 be completely ignored on the PS3.

  • Small update, considering no updates for 2 weeks, very disappointing.

  • No demos? I was hoping for a prologue demo or an haze demo. Bah, I suppose the Lair update is a nice addon at least, I’ll play that till next update.

  • @ 254

That PS2 thing is so you can install games like FF11, or others that have the feature to install to the hard drive when they were on PS2, to your PS3… sadly not to install any PS2 games.

  • Wait, where did all of these xbots come from?
Don’t you guys have your own blog or something? Can you please get out of here and let people who own a PS3 do the talking/discussing?

And stop convincing people to buy that flop360 when it’s bound to fail sooner or later.

  • And 264, and 268…brag about your games but keep in mind that you need a system in order to play them.

    Oh…wait…

  • @260

Mine is 6mb and takes a lot… imagine that… anyway today was fast enough for me… I can relax with the today speed…

  • Downloading Prologue right now :D i can’t wait to play it!!!

  • A pretty good update (the SSHD add-on is great). However, I’m extremely disappointed that the EOJ Set 2 update is still unavailable in North America. The software is ready, and the cards are widely available. The excuse for delaying the update from March to April 24th was the cards would not be available until the 28th. But the cards are now available and the update is still not here. SCEA’s management of EoJ has been incompetent and their treatment of the game’s fans has been shameful.

  • Could you guys tell me how can I, a brazilian ps3 legally buyer, buy any games on playstation store with a international credit card as my cc address isn’t from the US? I know, it isn’t possible nowadays, but could it be become possible ASAP? I mean, there’s a lot of people here who would buy a lot of games… you’re losing some opportunity here to make more revenues.

  • I though this update was supposed to be the greatest update because of the 2 week break. It’s not that impressive IMO

  • HEY NICE UPDATES BUT WHEN WE GET COD4 NEW MAPS? APRIL IS AL MOST OVER AND WE DONT GET NOTHING? OH AND WE NEED MORE PS2 AND PS GAMES 2 DOWN LOAD

  • good update but when we get cod4 new maps? or more ps2 and ps games and when is home is coming out? thnx 4 the update

  • @Jeigh

Did you see anything about me telling him to sell his PS3? No. Very simply put the PS3 doesn’t have and won’t have that many JRPGs this gen. Neither will have the 360. They are expensive to make, take a while to create and have limited appeal in the west unless the Final Fantasy name is attached. In short neither system is going to have much when it comes to JRPGS.

Read through a couple of the old psn update posts and you’ll notice that I post quite a few pro Sony comments. But, I do find it silly that the only rpgs I’m playing on the PS3 right now are Wild Arms 1 and Persona 3.

Yeah. I’m am an Xbot/troll despite my game library:

    PS3: Resistance, Folklore, HSG5, DMC4, COD4
    360: Culdcept Saga, VF5 Online, DOA4

The poster made a remark about rpgs. It is a genre that is currently non existent on the PS3 unless you happen to be fluent in Japanese and plan on importing Disgaia 3 or Record of Agarest War.

  • The COD4 maps for the PS3 version are supposed to be timed with the release of the GOTY edition of COD4. 21st I believe.

  • I heard there was going to be some sort of Special surprise on the playstation store with the Thursday update. What happened to that? It seems like it just never happened and Sony just let it drift away with out saying a word letting it get forgotten about. Any info on whats up with that?

  • AnotherCrappyUpdated

I GOT THE DEMO LAST WEEK ON EUROPE PSN……RELEASE THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME THEY WORK FLAWLESSLY ON MY SYSTEM……I’M TIRED OF WAITING FOR A DEMO AND THEN ITS ONE I ALREADY HAD LAST WEEK…..

  • “Very simply put the PS3 doesn’t have and won’t have that many JRPGs this gen. Neither will have the 360”

And how do you know this? As you said, RPGs are expensive to make and it will take a long time to make one. This gen will have enough RPGs for sure, for both consoles that is. PS3 and 360. Wii? pfftt. :p

  • @267

You know you take this videogame stuff too seriously when you have to paint people with dissenting opinions as not owning the console at all. If SCEA required PSN confirmation for the forums and blog, we’d still be here. Deal with it.

Grace, could you take the time to comment on the lack of PSone games? The honest fans (not fanboys, fans) would like to know whats up.

  • @283

The surprise was that Sony crammed a mountain of hamfisted DRM into the downloadable version of GT5 P that makes it a terrible value, and an insult to paying customers. Even MS doesn’t have DRM that shameless and consumer punishing.

  • Is the PC Store update supposed to be a joke or something? 3 weeks waiting for some crappy PS3 videos? As someone else that posted before, I don’t have a PS3 so only makinf videos for it avalibale after all this waiting is insulting, but love my PSP and have cash waiting to buy stuff, if only Sony would make it available at the store. Original games, PS1 games, all that. I already spent way more than what I paid for my PSP in UMD and PS Store games, and plan to continue to do that, but it seems Sony just don’t care for PSP users that much regarding digital content. Guess hacking is coming nearer and nearer to me.

  • Any word on the Call of duty 4 map packs?

  • I have to agree with eceyone that says STOP CRYING. I am dying for home to come out just like 99% of you, but it is coming. I have been and always will be a Sony fan nothing will ever change that, and if all of you that continue to cry are true Sony fans you will love every thing that Sony does for us. They always bring quality product and they care about us, the consumer and that is more then I can say for some other company. Grace and the rest of you guys at sony I want to apologize on behalf of everone on your blogs that continue to hastle you guys. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you guys don’t do a good job because you all are great. And this update was great. You guys take your time and release home when you are ready. And keep up the good work. Maybe one day after I am out of college I will be working with you guys. :D

  • Oh and one other thing, making suggestions is fine and good but dong start saying “come on Sony”. They’d are working hard to give us what we want. Make your suggestion then just wait. Sony is listening.

  • sorry about the spelling I am on my phone at work right now typing this and my fingers are alittle big I guess LOL.

  • About PLAYSTATION STORE (PC):

    1. The store don’t work in opera. The page don’t show the main content.

    2. We live in a globalise world. Why do you keep separating content from country to country? The US Store is full of content compared with most of european countries. Is this your vision of a lucrative buisness model with the store?

The buisness model with the store is useless if you don’t have content. With almost 4 years of PSP on the market, I feel this Store is a complete failure.

I can’t believe that a such powerfull brand like PlayStation can’t work serious on this kind of market.

Microsoft and Apple are so ahead of Sony on this point, I feel bought PS3 and PSP never will acomplished a sucessfull online market & service.

  • #290, thanks for agreeing. I have no doubt in my mind that Sony is doing a good job but people keep undermining them, especially the people here who can’t appreciate what this company is doing. Sony has received enough attacks already and they’re only adding on to the pile because Sony didn’t give them what they wanted in the update. The year isn’t even over yet and they can’t even see that.

As a PS3 owner (I will NOT touch the 360), I can understand the frustration. I’m getting a little frustrated as well but I will not cry a river because this stuff isn’t coming as fast as it should. What matters to me is the fact that I actually have GAMES for my PS3 and even more awesome games are coming. Some of these people here fail to realize that Sony is focusing on the games coming out this year. They’re trying to prove everyone wrong by releasing them because all I’ve been hearing is that ‘the PS3 is only for blu-ray’.

People ought to calm down. Good things come to people who WAIT. Rome wasn’t built in ONE day. The United States wasn’t developed in ONE day.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to say the PC Store doesn’t work on Opera anymore.

  • Not sure if anyone is still reading the comments now, but if anyone has tried out the lair patch, could you post some more details? Does it totally remove 6axis controlls or does it just give you the analog option? What about the dive and u-turn commands? When I played the game I didn’t mind so much the 6axis controls as much as I hated the gesture recognition for the dive and u-turn. Often times I’d end up pulling off the wrong maneuver and there’d be a couple-second delay between when I shook the controller and when my dragon did something. So if the dive and u-turn have been mapped to a button, I might try this again.

  • Depressing, boring update without stuff that’s been promised for 18 months, again. Kinda of like that weak, pathetic excuse for an earthquake we had this morning.

I’d be happy if Sony would just apologize for promising stuff they’ve never delivered on, and now simply ignore the fact that they made those promises. Or better yet, start releasing those PS1 games.

  • @ randolph,
While I respect your ability to actually read other comments in this blog post and respond to them (albeit rudely), you obviously haven’t exercised your option to read the comments actually provided by Sony on other blog postings, specifically addressing your concerns about PS1 games: https://blog.playstation.com/2008/03/27/playstation-store-update-28/comment-page-1/#comment-51255
Now that this has been resolved, we can all look forward to you not using the blog like a teenage girl uses her phone. If you’d like to monopolize the conversation, please go create your own blog and I will be the first to not post there. This is for us to interact with Sony and part of that interaction agreement is to listen to what they have already said about the PS1 games.
