  • To play Secret Agent Clark demo, it seems necessary to have your PSP language settings to English. Worked for me.

  • hi I was wondering if you guys can put an HD version of the latest metal gear solid 4 trailer availible for download off the playstation store?? I would greatly appriciate it!!
I don’t know what its called but many call it the “solid is courage” trailer. Please do this for us that want it!!!

  • all I want is HOME…….please i can really care less about naruto, oh and what is so hard about PSN cards, i guarantee PSN will get more sales if there are PSN cards such as me, I am not going to use a credit card but ill be happy to go out right now and get a PSN card…just a word from the wise!!!

  • @Slimer

    @Slimer#86
You can buy The Legend of Dragoon for $9.99 at here soo quiet down!

    @Snap

real funny post. i was smiling & laughing at the same time because alot of it is true. & the reply u got was real funny.

    erroneous statements lololol

    @Noel Silvia

    Fix your MGS link

  • @Noel

You only answered half of Snap’s question, the other half is, why do we not get a better flow of PSone games, period. You have dozens of honest classics rated by the ESRB, why are you not releasing any of them? Why did you fast track the completely mediocre R Types right on through, but leave games people are begging for every week to rot on the rated but unreleased list?

Just support the bloody feature, it’s there, use it. One of the ESRB rated PSone games would have been a much better item to offer us than an expansion for a completely broken downloadable game no one bought. I cannot stress enough to you that nothing you do will ever make Rocketmen sell, it simply isn’t going to happen. That game sucks, we know it sucks, you know it sucks, and you know we know that you know it sucks.

Stagger your releases, drag things out, but we will not get bored enough by the absolutely flaccid flow of quality games to buy mediocre garbage. We simply won’t buy anything at all. I haven’t purchased anything from the store since mid 2007. Get it together. Also, tell John Hight he’s an idiot, and the store has neither quantity nor quality, and saying he doesn’t want to overwhelm us with content is just an excuse for incompetence.

  • @Noel:

As you can see here with all these posts, we, your CLIENTS, the people who pay for your products and your services, are literally BEGGING for more PS1 GOOD games that you already have licensed and ready-to-go in the ESRB list, just put them there in the PSN so we can give you our money for them! I don’t know how to say it in a clearer way, we want those games, you already have them I don’t see why wouldn’t you do such as simple thing as make them available for us in the PS Store , for crying out loud you are going to make money and satisfy your customer if you just do that!!!!

On a side note, I agree with comment 102

  • “Neil | May 15th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Any word on when Dark Mist will be released?”

    “Hi Neil –
I’m Ro and I manage the PS Store schedule for SCEA. At this time, there are no plans to release this title on our store.
    – Ro”

Hi Ro, say could you look into making that happen? No seriously, what the heck? We should have had this game months ago. It’s inexcusable that decent games are still getting this whole “US gamers wouldnt like it” garbage even on the PSN which is supposed to eliminate the risk involved in releasing a possible niche game.

  • By the way, you know what other game would be GREAT to get at the PSN ? (although I know there are so little chances for it to happen..) Super Robot Wars !!!

  • @Alpha2

AMEN. I get the feeling the majority of the people in charge of our store aren’t even gamers. Who the hell are they to decide we wouldn’t be interested in a game? If it’s translated into English, put it up and let us decide that. It’s like how they say we aren’t as interested in PSone games as other regions, which is why we get less of them, then when they finally load up one, they purposefully use a crappy one they know won’t sell, rather than the surefire blockbusters they have rated already and say “Ah ha! See?”. Really underhanded.

  • Neil, Ro, or anyone at the PlayStation Blog, I need some info on this, MUCH thanks!

One of your upcoming PSN games for the summer, Siren: Blood Curse, will also be released in Blu Ray Disc format in Japan. I was just wondering why we don’t have that option as well? A lot of my friends would rather buy it on disc format (and many message board members as well), is there anyone I can talk to about this? Thank you very much for your time, and your updates have been improving, good job.

  • Noel Silvia wrote:

    – the region that created the content will usually have it first due to the natural process of creation.”

This is the only reason listed that would explain why SCEA won’t give us Dark Mist. But one of the major appeals of downloadable games in the first place is because they are significantly less risky for the publisher than a retail release, less mainstream games like Dark Mist can be released! The game isn’t “too Japanese” to be released in Europe, and it would cost SCEA very little to release in North America. With the dearth of content available on the PlayStation Store, there is absolutely no excuse to be holding this game back.

  • FilliamHMuffman

Well, I just imported a PSN Ticket and will buy Dark Mist off the Japanese store. Ridiculous Sony is making me jump through hoops to give them my money (and if I was less scrupulous I would just game share it), but whatever.

  • @Noel

Thank you five times over for dealing with snap. The flame bait he post is so tempting to reply to but yeah, thank you for replying with a light sense of humor and so on.

    @Iszk
People bought rocketman not your fault you could make such an oblivious statement. People who have the game are happy to be playing it likes myself and curious to why all the hate of the game. It is not your cup of tea, get over it and jump on the band wagon that wants ff7 which SE has said a dozen times they will not resale.

@those who want the MGS1 (sephiroth, etc) , if you have been paying attention at all Konami rereleased all three games called MGS: The Essential collection for 29.99 which is cheap for such good games. Drop by your local video game retailer (game stop, Eb games, bestbuy, even target) Call yourselves fans and don’t know the simple stuff going on for MGS, it came out nearly month or two ago.

@FF7 fans please for the love of god/cloud/cid/ w/e please just check the SE forum they have said it a few times no rerelease of FF7 original does that say no to a new remake no but they have said a dozen times now that they will not be rereleasing the game. For so many fans of the game glad I got two copies one unopenned and then other still plays fine.

@sephiroth chrono trigger it may happen but chronicles and origins and originals did not sell to well here. I love the games even got them on the original console but kind of realistic that they will probably not be rereleasing these games again.

Now for the update where to begin DBZ demo was great definitely will be a purchase and wipeout HD definitely looks serious I need to know if wipeout will have dedicated servers or not?

  • @Juben

Japan got Essentials AND a MGS1 download, no reason we couldn’t have both options as well. People who have the two more recent games shouldn’t need to buy two games they have to get an older game they missed out on or don’t have anymore. Also no good reason to not see more PS1 games period, FF7 or not, which I never mentioned.

The feature is there, it should be used.

  • thatsmartguywiththefro

    Thanks for another great update!

As for next week’s update, I noticed that a PC demo for LEGO Indiana Jones is now out, will we be getting that too?

In the near future I would like to see more PS Eye games (especially games like “Tank Wars” which was demoed at GDC ’08), more support of PSOne games, and PSN Cards.

Already looking forward to the slew of upcoming original PSN games, so thank you very much in advance!

  • Hi, I’ve been trying to buy an 80gb console for a few months now but they are sold out everywhere I go. Each store said the same thing, they can’t order any in and they don’t know when more will come. I also heard a rumour Sony was planning on re-releasing the 80gb version with a new game or updating it to a 120gb. Is this just a rumour or should I continue to wait?

  • I’m glad I took care of my ps1 games but I do not think I have thrown more than three in there FF series, Battle Arena Toshiden 1. One was to see if our console allowed us to play our games. But since then I have not thrown another psone game in there. Never saw the reason why we are looking for old games compared to asking sony for new content. Almost makes me want to break out my old 386 and try to play oregon trail.

  • i’m glad many people like me are mad that dark mist seems to not be coming to the US store.

if all regions had PSN cards, i would have bought one from the UK market and got the game that way but that is not even an option.

i dont see how the JP market has had PSN cards for over a year and the two markets who buy the most ps3s do not.

also the two regions with the most users have the least amount of overall content.

ps3 owners want to give sony there money just release some good ps1 games and more orginal psn titles like dark mist.

i also find it that there has only been one response to the dark mist issue eventhough that is what people want to know about the most.

  • You guys are killing me with this no-Wipeout HD-release-date thing. KILLING me.

  • You know, I’m still waiting for an answer from Noel or someone else from Sony staff regarding the lack of PS1 games…

    • Sorry, Seph. Wasn\’t ignoring you – just took the weekend off away from the computer to enjoy the rare nice weather we were having. Also, it\’s not really my place to answer that question. I\’m part of the art team, and as such, I can\’t personally comment on the scheduling of PSone Classics as I am not directly involved with that.
I can tell you this, though: I promise to re-state everyone\’s desire for more Classics on the Store to those that are involved with that.
Also, if there\’s a classic title that you\’d really like to see on the Store, let the developer / publisher know. Sometimes the dev / pub isn\’t around any more, which makes getting those titles on the Store next to impossible, but for those that are, let them know you\’d like to see their Classic title(s) on the Store.
Hope this helped to answer your question!

  • @Juben

the reason is simple, it is not a difficult task for Sony to upload old games AND gives us new content. It’s not as if the games are being remade in any fashion. Sony is a big company, your attempt to make it seem that it has to be one or the other is nothing but aplogogist fanboyism, Sony is a big girl, she can defend herself.

    • Hi, lszk.
As I\’ve stated, it\’s not always as simple as just \”ripping and uploading old code\”. There are a number of other factors that have nothing to do with the technical process.
A lot of work goes in to making games, and no one wants to see someone not get compensated for their hard work, no matter how long ago it was the game was made.

  • hey noel,

what about getting dark mist in the US store. im sure that’s easier than classic titles.

  • Hey Noel, I think you missed this, but any info would be of much help, thanks :)

“One of your upcoming PSN games for the summer, Siren: Blood Curse, will also be released in Blu Ray Disc format in Japan. I was just wondering why we don’t have that option as well? • Thank you Noel :)

  • Iszk, I feel your understanding of software development and maintenance is off (too put it kindly), if you think they can just go in and upload a game at touch of a button that is far from the truth There are always laws, royalties, and other factors(patents) to deal with. When software is rereleased, new cost analysis have to be taken into consideration say we get BoF if it messes up our system and system crashes. Maintenance fees and so on have to be calculated and so on. I think it is easier for new software to be developed and maintained on our ps3s compared to psone games for ps3. Look at logictech and how their wireless/bluetooth keyboards do not work on the older games it may take a simple driver upload but logitech feels it is not cost effective to get a group of programmers to make the driver update/patch for psone and ps2 games much less develop. There are many factors to consider when bringing old software to new hardware just like a PC.

Not a fanboy but understand the “lifecycle of software” take a software engineering course or read a book and a few economic classes it will help you understand it isn’t just a snap of fingers and things go. Especially in America where licenses are so heavily guarded and protected.

  • Reading the rest of these posts, I don’t know if this is the correct place for an actual valid complaint, but here goes:
I downloaded the new hot shots characters an hour ago and can’t see them in my game anywhere. I re-downloaded each of them three times, rebooted my machine, looked through all the options, and still no luck. It seems I’m the only person with this problem? I’m a software developer, so I’d like to think that the process should be easy enough for me to figure out.

  • Apparently, you can’t use the new characters unless you’ve accessed the “Online” portion of the game and gone through the 1/2 hour download there. Annoying, but at least it’s working now.

  • @Juben

You mean new games like Dark Mist which is fully translated into English, of an apparent high quality, and not being released in our store for some unknown reason? As for the older games, they have a large stable of them rated by the ESRB and apparently ready to rock, difficulty of getting more of them ready aside, are these games not able to be utilized? Street Fighter Alpha, Rayman, and other titles have been rated for several MONTHS now. So it would honestly seem they have games ready to use, but simply are not using them.

The scheduling of content for this store makes absolutely no sense, and the stressing of premium downloads for mediocre games most people have realized aren’t worth buying in the first place months ago, like Pain and Rocketmen, leads me to again believe the people in charge of our store simply aren’t gamers, and that is the main reason why the selection sucks, and we get one or two great games a year at best.

    • \”So it would honestly seem they have games ready to use, but simply are not using them.\”

ESRB approval is not the only factor involved with getting content up on the PLAYSTATION Store.
Please read my previous comments for more information on the complexity of getting titles published. They should help clarify your confusion.
