if the manager of the store really did write this post, i hope she is reading these replies or someone tells her to read them.
if she cant get something done about the flow of content, she needs to take some initiative and bring the demands of the consumers to upper management or someone that actually has some power.
lol @ Sony. If the PlayStation Store was a brick and mortar establishment, it would be akin to walking into a store where over half the shelves are empty. They are really nice looking shelves, though.
I may be missing something, but is there anything featured in this update that is exclusive to the PlayStation brand? Maybe a weekly update to the Store is asking too much, since there doesn’t seem to be enough content to support that schedule.
IN-GAME XBM CONFIRMED for 2.40!!!!!!!!!
Jim posted: “It’s the real deal… Coming in 2.40. More features than expected.
All I can say.”

We’ve finally received word that the long awaited, and much rumored, PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 2.40 is indeed the real deal and is said to be coming relatively soon. Many of the most requested features, such as a universal friends list and in-game messaging will be included, in addition to a few rather nice surprises (*cough*soundtracks*cough*). We definitely can’t divulge all of the details, but trust us, it’s coming.
We aren’t yet 100% sure of the actual release date, but all signs point to sometime in June. We’re guesing that Sony will probably detail 2.40 in the coming weeks.

W000000TTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):)
People you have to understand ….
There can only be demos if there are games coming out soon and the developers are who make the demos not the PSN
PS – Cant wait for MGS4 …. EPIC !!!
I mean, this isn’t the best update ever, but some of you need to take chill pills.
I wonder how many people complaining actually have content purchased before. I haven’t cared about updates in a very long time and that is because I have far too many other things to play now.
I do want Suikoden already. Grr.
This is a terrible update… I’m not usually one who complains but there is really nothing worthwhile here(unless you have Rock Band). Also why didn’t the U.S. get Dark Mist? I had to buy it from the Hong Kong PS store (so happy it’s in english)
Rayman, which went up on the European store today, was rated by the ESRB months ago. I guess you hacks are going to tell us you can’t get it on the store because it’s so hard dealing with music licensing issues. Riiiiight…
While Wiiware and XBLA got two games just this week, you morons can’t even manage two games a month. And you’re sitting on a finished, translated game like Dark Mist because it’s “too Japanese”?! Too expensive to send a video tape to the ESRB and upload the game to your server? Isn’t the whole point of digital delivery that you can take a risk with less mainstream games in the first place? The PSOne and PS2 were the systems to own for fans of quirky Japanese games, and SCEA is conceding that whole market segment to the XBox 360 with games like Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Culdcept, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon without even a fight. I thought I was buying the next-generation PlayStation, not the original XBox, which only caters to fans of shooters, sports, and racing games. To top it off, we’re still hearing “new information is coming soon” about PSN Cards. Nintendo and MS had that sorted out on day one and SCEA can’t manage it a year and a half after launch. Pathetic.
If you can’t do your jobs and get quality content to customers that paid $400-$600 for your system, where’s the petition to sign that the lot of you should be fired and replaced by people that know what they’re doing?
I think that this update is okay at best. I mean I always go by the saying that something is better then nothing so this update is cool for the most part. Of course it would have been better if there were some PS1 games or some demos to download.
I’m hoping that next week’s update has more content.
Weren’t Fatal Inertia and Bionic Commando supposed to come out this month?
Someone really needs to get cracking on securing more content (specifically games) for the store and linking the regions ogether in terms of content
That said, I’ll probably download some of the PoP wallpapers.
Things that are important to me for a successful store update:
Less than 2 Weeks sense good content: Fail
Conditions for success
PSP Demos: Fail
PS3 Demos: Fail
PS1 Games: Fail
PS3 Games: Fail
Add-ons: Fail
News Worthy Videos & Interviews: Fail
Something for someone: FAIL
Something other than lame trailers: FAIL
This is a terrible store update, it wouldn’t sting so damn much if there was hope of something on the horizon each month.
What’s the Deal Grace? Why is the PSN Store sucking so much wind these past few weeks? Please tell me this is going to start getting better soon, because I have no reason to visit the store today.
I’d like to see at least 3 PSOne games a Week if not every two weeks. Hell a Classics (notice this is plural) day wouldn’t hurt to have once a month to introduce several PSOne titles and arcade remakes.
I can’t really complain about the demos, but more wouldn’t hurt.
Honestly you have direct access to us with the PS3, why aren’t you guys tapping into that with anything more than trailers. I don’t need bluray movie trailers, I can do that online from my PC or my PS3 web browser. I would expect to see interviews with Hideo Kojima and making of specials, and various fanfare over MGS4. Instead we have Yet another Rock band update, trailers and what not for one of the biggest games of the year. While its a good try with Battlefield bad company it isn’t the only game on PS3 right now that is out or releasing.
Why doesn’t the store have a news stand for that kind of cool stuff.
Why haven’t we gotten more themes?
Why don’t we get a special love note from Kaz Hirari or Jack Treton, or yourself? (my apologies for butchering names)
Where’s the fanfare, the bearded lady, and those crazy old people from the PSX commercials who told us about the greatest hits series back in 1998?
I’m assuming that the reason things are so slow is because something big is coming, but come on throw us a bone, clue us in, make us feel like Thursday is worth tuning in for.
LOL, wow just wow. Where’s Noel Silvia now? I’d like to know WTH is this stuff about “Just remember that the next update is only a week away if you’re still unsatisfied!” yet we get the same stuff that we complained about last week, like our opinions have changed on the same type of content we received last week :|. Hell I’d be delighted to see video of something that I’d actually like to see, like video from Judges Day or so on, however we have to get this information from gaming website and such, yet video content that I have no interest in, is rammed down my throat as the meat and potatoes of these store updates, as oppose games. Demos are not the only reason these posts get rated low, its the damn lack of games and demos, and we get steady streams of worthless videos (At least if you’re going to release videos, release videos that people would like to see, like TV/Movie content, and behind the scenes content of big games that are available elsewhere, except of course the increasingly lame PS Store. What’s even more dishearting is that Sony CEO, Howard Stringer feels that the PS3 is on the right track, maybe as far as the system sell and games becoming available, but the Playstation Store is an utter joke. Sorry to be rude, however its kind of ridiculous to have spent 600 bucks (Have a 60 GB PS3) on a system that was said to have a great content on the store amongst other things (While the other things have been fulfilled or are in process of being fulfilled, in which I give Sony great credit for, the PS Store is not as great as it was hype up to be, as far as content placement). Answer me this, what’s with the new store interface if you were going to release constant streams of non-sense most of the time? Really I could have use the PS Store before the new UI and been fine with it, if that meant better content. I would like to know why exactly Sony choose to continue on a route that makes us fans upset? Obviously if there is nothing for you guys to post, that means that someone is not doing their job securing content for the Store. Surely there is a wide world of content that could be accessed, especially if Sony is working with Indie Devs as it is stated, yet we continue to lack decent content, week in week out.
I\’m right here. *waves hello!*
It\’s rather amusing that certain people believe in a conspiracy-like situation where the Team sits around and tries to figure out how to frustrate people with the updates each week.
As is the nature of the industry, certain things fall through or get pushed back due to technical difficulties or critical bugs found.
We\’d rather release a limited amount of content than to release content that is broken.
If someone feels that it\’s easy to create and program games, please let me know and I\’d be happy to hook you up with the necessary channels to get your title evaluated. It can be done as Jonathan Mak showed with \”Everyday Shooter\”, so let me know!
