Introducing Qore: Taking you behind the curtain with PlayStation

721 0

Today we are announcing that Qore: Presented by the PLAYSTATION Network, a highly interactive, monthly lifestyle gaming program covering the world inside PLAYSTATION is on its way to PS3. Qore has been developed to give PS3 users early access to game related content at a level of quality, interactivity and depth. Everything is filmed in HD. Qore will feature exclusive news, developer interviews, in-depth game previews and behind-the-scenes looks at PlayStation games and special access to game demos, special beta invitations, game add-ons and other downloadable game-related content.

Qore

Our premier episode will be available on Thursday, June 5. The premier episode includes in-depth exclusive and never-before released content on upcoming PlayStation titles such as SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Secret Agent Clank, Soul Calibur 4 and Afro Samurai, as well as the latest Blu-ray Disc trailers, an exclusive SOCOM: Confrontation theme with an invitation to the SOCOM: Confrontation beta, art galleries and other surprises. We also know that many of you are big fans of Veronica Belmont, the widely-known host of numerous online video programs and podcasts and an avid gamer, so we’ve chosen her to be your host.

To get Qore, simply log onto PSN and go to the PLAYSTATION Store, as you would purchase any other form of downloadable content. Once the single Episode or annual subscription is purchased, that month’s episode will be downloaded under the “Game” heading on the Cross Media Bar (XMB). Users who purchase the “Qore Annual Subscription” will notice only that month’s episode is available to download. The following month, the new episode will automatically appear in your download list. The introductory price for Qore is $2.99 for a single episode and $24.99 for an annual subscription of 13 episodes, using your PLAYSTATION Network wallet.

As Peter Dille mentioned in a previous PLAYSTATION Network post, the broader service and community initiatives launching on the PLAYSTATION Network this year such as Qore, PlayStation Home and the Video Download Service are all evidence of our dedication to delivering an all-encompassing entertainment experience for PS fans. Qore is the first in a series of planned original programming specifically created for the PLAYSTATION Network community and we hope you enjoy it.

  • This is one thing I do not understand: I paid for a Upscale service yet I get ADs! I mean come on there should NO ADs if Im paying! If anything There should be ADs and Movie ADs in FREE PS STORE CONTENT Not something you pay for. I dont like payingt o sit there watching a blood clotting Whopper Burger. This is the last time I buy this Junk I can get “Exclusive” behind the scenes on other gaming sites. What a gimmick Sony you put ADs in a paid service. Just a way for a corp to get more money If you want a better marketing plan put ADs in free videos where you have more people watching them.

  • I think it’s pretty good…and the ads aren’t all that long either. Sad day where the patience of a gamer is measured in seconds.

  • I am a long time Sony fan…. but qore is like a kick in the face from YOU sony…… not only is the beta for socom not available yet, a tease download button for it is listed on qore but that is not even the half of it advertisements are riddled within the program…. THAT I PAYED FOR! this is ridiculous I could understand if sony had put advertisements in front of the free downloads on PSN but in a program “I PAYED 25 DOLLARS FOR!” unforgivable! if sony continues to make marketing mistakes like this it will be sony’s downfall….. If you can not tell “I AM UPSET WITH YOU SONY”……STEALING MY MONEY AND THROWING GLORIFIED ADVERTISEMENTS IN MY FACE!
YOU HAD BETTER START PUTTING WORTHWHILE PRODUCT ON QORE AND STRIP OUT THOSE ADS
ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS ADS…..AHHHHHHHH!
By the way sony you did get me angry enough to register an account on your blog site to complain…. and I do not have the time for this kind of junk!
GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER AND SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS…… DO NOT BE LIKE MICROSOFT, THEY ARE NOT A GOOD EXAMPLE OF GOOD BUSINESS….

  • I got the year subscription cause I think its cool. So far I like the set up. I just wish it was more streaming than downloads. And the added content I really like. I would rather pay for online Mag than kill a tree and pay for paper im gonna throw away anyway. Nice move sony I for one like this.

  • I like Qore…just two things I think you should really work on for the next issue.

    1. More Content

    2. Optional Ads

Not too much to ask for don’t you think?

  • wow i am dumbstruck by how much you guys like paying for these exclusive interviews and themes and demos that have always been available for free y dont you guys feel cheated?
we are being short changed and it like you guys dont notice it? when heavenly sword came out there were free animated movies and dev interviews same for ratchet and clank and a long list of other games
demos and themes have also been free
socom beta access u can get earlier by pre ordering the game which u can get a refund for if u dont like it
this is not a good sign or a good step
look at what you have been getting for free especially ad free and see that this isnt a good bargain and is a heavy insult to our intelligence and loyalty to a brand/console
also read this article about qore if u dont understand/ wanna understand my reasoning http://n4g.com/ps3/News-154957.aspx

  • I am fine with the content in Qore, I am NOT fine in anyway with un skipable ads in a service I am paying a premium for, I don’t care how short they are. :(

  • I subscribed to Qore annually. I don’t regret it at all, money well spent. As for the ads, I don’t mind any ads that are GAME related, however, anything not connected with the GAMING world, that really pisses me off. STICK TO GAMES SONY!!!
Also, I hope Sony will do Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 Qore issues.

  • can sum one tell me y they are fine with qore and wat they are getting that the feel like hey didnt get b4 for free on psn ?

  • 1. Is there any way that you guys could get Olivia Munn to host the Qore instead?

    2. I just viewed the Qores’s first episode on youtube and what on earth was Veronica Belmont wearing? OMG, you guys must be kidding me.

    3. Why promote HDt the show as HD? When clearly it’s not in HD. Specially when it shrinks into a small rectangle? It’s so much wasted space on my TV.

    4. Please packed some exclusive PS3 Themes into the Qore mag. That would be awesome!!!

    5. I don’t really mind the in-adds that much. User should be able to skip all that. Specially since there’s a fee for Qore!

    6. Don’t get me wrong. I do appreciate the effort behind the whole Qore app. I believe with a few changes the show can be totally awesome.

  • @44

This is one facet of the network… it’s an ezine. The PSN is still freeto access and doesn’t charge for gaming, which is what we should all be most concerned over. Look the PSN has to make money in some way so I’d rather have a nickel and dime approach than a pay to play model. Look Xbox LIve you pay for just abou everything, even themes and crap like that. I have yet to pay for a demo, a theme, a wallpaper, or a trailer and I don’t think that’s going to change.
If you don’t want to pay for Qore then don’t. Heck home is supposed to be free except for the extra content (let’s Home works) and such. But all in all it’s about gaming, and having free acess to online gaming servers and such is worth having Sony offer other gaming related subscriptions that won’t impact on me playing my games wth my buddies online.
On top of it all Sony has always maintained that teh netwrok would be free to access unlike its competition but they never ever said that everything available in it would be free.

  • This feels like a way to fund the PSN. This looks cool, but either for free or for a cheaper price.

  • OK. I bought qore, and it leaves MUCH to be desired.

Magazines have compelling content subsidized by ads. Qore is nothing but ads, some of which have the appearance of content(behind the scenes etc).

How many cakes do you bake without flour? Frosting only, without the cake, is good for a scoop or two before you get sick of it.

I would much rather save that $3 for gas so that I can pay to drive myself to work than to just throw it away on something that isn’t close to worth the asking price.

You can’t make it look like it’s all that and a bag of chips by using premium pricing if you forget to add the chips that are supposed to reside inside of the bag! There was like one chip and it was burned on the edge. Not that random, slightly burnt chip that taste awesome. This chip was full of nast and ads.

In fact I wish a return of my monies.

In my case your scheme worked exactly one time as I don’t expect to continue paying for one burnt ass chip dipped in frosting.

    You are doing it wrong.

  • I really dont understand y we need to pay for things that was suppose to be given for free. That is one of the main reasons i bought a ps3, cuz i thought the payments for XBOX live was a bit xtreme and i wanted to get all i wanted for my buck. Which is why i spent the extra cash for a ps3 and now u tell me i have to pay more for the extra goodies. Very dissapointed. And u spend no time when its getting more money but when something is free(Playstation HOME), it takes like 3 years. If home costs, thats another dissapointment.

  • So you’re saying you want us to PAY for to watch your lame a.s.s. commercials?

I would love to slap the s.h.i.t out of the m.o.r.o.n marketing f.u.c.k.w.a.d. that thought this up. F.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot.

Stop trying to r.a.p.e. your customers. Either charge for online access or don’t but don’t give us this b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t.

  • Oh, and we all know the a.s.s.h.o.l.e.s that are posting b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t about how great this is are just your marketing weenies. Don’t b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t your customers, it will only come back to bite you in the a.s.s

  • And to people like Sigil82:

X.b.o.x Live costs $50 a year but it’s worth it if you play online a lot just because you get a GOOD network you know has some kind of financial support. PSN is c.r.a.p compared to X.B.L. I still love my PS3 but Sony is seriously p.i.s.s.i.n.g me off with this total b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t.

  • slomo788…i no im late to your post…but firmware 2.40 which includes in game xmb…is coming around E3 which is anywhere from july 13-17….so no not that long of a wait

  • and to you [DELETED] get off the playstation site if your such a big [DELTED] 3FixMe [DELETED]…360 breaks every few weeks so why shood you pay for the piece of garbage….no good games in 08-09 except bioshock 2….PSN is just as good as live and will be better when we get the in game xmb in july….and HOME will pwn it as well…360 sucks [DELETED] get the hell over it

  • Is Qore worth paying for?
I thought about it, but I need an opinion first.

  • I think Qore has alot of great behind the scenes info and not to mention exclusive content…you could always pay the $3 for one month if you do not want to dump the cash on the full year subscription. If you want Socom Beta you better purchase the June issue =)
