@45 Zorox
“I guess Sony saw that many people were willing to pay for the GT5 demo, so they might as well start charging for other demos as well.”
scary, isn’t it?
hopefully not the sign of things to come.
I just think stuff like this isn’t making it better for people on the fence as to which console to buy…
Surprise surprise. No PS1 games yet again. The last one was on the 24th of April. So 1 game every 1-2 months?
I don’t understand the point of even having PS1 games on the store with such poor support for them.
now this is what i call an UPDATE!!
keep it up like this and its all good!!
WOW
@51 Metalmurphy-
“Hey Zola, are you blind?
Or did you just miss the fact that we’re getting 3 demos this week… for FREE.”
talk to me in the next few weeks and months and we’ll see who was right about all this.
i am but a simple prophet, and i foresee nickel and diming running rampant in this new age of digital distribution.
oh, and learn some manners, huh?
its like almost 8 pm here and still no update? WHY SONY WHY?!
I’m with uziari. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the updates, but the timing leaves a lot to be desired. PSN is VERY inconsistent with their updates. Sometimes its in the late morning, sometimes the early afternoon…and here we are today, 4:40PST and there’s still nothing. If this is how other competitors did business, it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but the “other” console is quick to update the morning of their regularly scheduled day. Also, seeing as how Sony KNEW going in that Microsoft updated their console on Wednesdays…what possessed them to pick the day after? I’ve always wondered why someone would intentionally choose to be 24 hours behind with updates when this industry is all about having the latest and greatest as soon as its available.
I’m rooting for Sony, I really am, but sometimes these decisions make it more difficult than it needs to be.
I for one, can’t wait to try out Qore and I truly hope that the videos are exclusive. This could be big…or not. It all depends on the content! Sorry for the timing rant, it’s been on my mind since the launch of the system, maybe someone has an answer to some of the questions I raised?
Can’t wait to check out QORE’s first episode. Seems like a lot of work went into the project.
zola, if it’s true that everyone is entitled to her own opinion, then please, for everyone’s sake — yes, including yours — let them have their opinions. It isn’t necessary to proliferate this madness by responding to every individual post that challenges yours. You delivered your opinion in the second post. You got your wish. If that’s not enough for you, I don’t know what is.
Nice update this week.
Yeah. Eoyote, I concur with you on PS1 games…
Now, you can see why Wii (Virtual Console) and XBOX 360 (XBOX LIVE Arcade) have put Sony (PSN Store) to shame when it comes down to release classic games…
Really, Sony is a f***ing bad at finding a good strategy to launch that they know they can succeeded… But apparently not. So, Grace, if you are listening to this (I meant by reading this message) – PLEASE GET YOUR TEAM’S ASSES TOGETHER AND DO THE RIGHT JOB WITH PSN STORE, CLASSIC GAMES, AND MANY MORE!!!
Seriously, lately, PSN Store is like wandering into the desert… or perhaps, more likely Ghost Town (literally). Thanks to lacking updates.
@zola
The problem I have with what you said is very simple. Even though PSN is free, I believe that once Sony has a gaming service worth paying for they have the right to charge and we should pay it, so long as the pricing isn’t outrageous.
Hear me out: The PSN in its current state does not offer the features or services necessary to justify charging. The PS2 didn’t charge for the same reason. It is a fact of life. Once Home breaks out, for example, is a final build and is no longer a working beta, and is everything we’ve hoped for (*fingers crossed*) I expect Sony to charge reasonably; I will gladly pay the price for admission.
What we as PS owners has longed for is a service significantly improved, if not better, than XBL. To maintain this service, provide high quality of service, and continue to rise above the rest REQUIRES money. If they found away to keep this service free that doesn’t lend them to pimp out the PSN like a prostitute I’d be ecstatic, but I don’t see how else they could do it.
Simply put: It’s a business, get over it. If you want a quality product sometimes you have to pay for it.
@bulletdaddy: You make some good points.
However, there have been many instances of XBLA pulling titles off since there were issues after posting. I think the QA has been exceptional with PSN releases.
Not to mention this is the first to contain so many titles, demos and the Qore digital publication.
Hey Sony,
Great update (finally!) this week, the last two weeks sucked, but at least we got a good one this week. Although some more Game Videos and Themes wouldn’t hurt.
Do you think you can tell us what is going on with the 2.40 update that people from EA and Insomniac confirmed (so you can’t deny)? When will it release or when will we hear about it officially?
Nice update finally things worth downloading (with the exception of Qore). Not going to pay for things that can be found on the internet / should be free.
By the way, It’d would be nice to see more classic PS1/2 games on the PSN such as Metal Gear Solid, Vagrant Story, and the like.
=D
it is a good update if i could download anything since its not there yet whats goin on someone please respond!
I’d also like to know the state of the 2.40 firmware update. I’m seriously about to **** and urinate in my pants. Simultaneously.
@60 jimmyn28
My Opinion: an arguement as to why i feel the new pricing strategy is unwelcome and unnecessary and in direct contrast to the initial vision of a truly free for everyone PSN.
Most of the People’s Opinions of My Post: shut up, blabbering idiot, ban him, are you blind, etc. etc.
I haven’t been challenged yet. just people with no respect and no manners.
Do you guys think in game xmb will include in game voice chat because it rumored to not have it. It rumored that just text message is in game xmb. That would suck if true
no mgs4 videos to hype us up for next week?
jeff if we get eps one of Qore do we get in the socom beta or do we have to get the yearly one?
The single episode will do it.
