MGS4 Continues A Year of PS3 Blockbusters

160 0

We know that many PlayStation and Metal Gear fans have been waiting for today, and it was a pleasure to premiere Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to the PS3 software line-up at midnight last night! PlayStation and the Konami team have enjoyed bringing this blockbuster franchise to the PlayStation nation for the last decade, with many of our PlayStation fanbase growing up on the game.

Thanks to PS3’s Blu-ray technology, this is the biggest Metal Gear Solid yet and sets a new benchmark in the gaming industry as the first PS3 game developed on a dual layer Blu-ray disc. This means the Konami team is able to deliver more cutting-edge graphics, more expansive gameplay and more surround sound. Add a DUALSHOCK 3 controller into the mix and you’ll find yourself right in the middle of the action.

PS3 MGS Bundle

For our PS2 enthusiasts, this is a great time to consider upgrading to a PS3 with the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PS3 80GB bundle ($499), which includes the popular 80GB PS3, a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, a DUALSHOCK 3 controller, as well as a free download for the PSN title, PAIN.

With highly anticipated titles such as Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Grand Theft Auto IV and SingStar and with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, this is only the beginning of an ongoing software avalanche for PS3 that includes titles such as LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Resistance 2 that only PS3 owners will be able to exclusively enjoy. We look forward to your feedback on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

  • Think my gf will break down and get the 80 gig bundle, so I can get the game with it, she’s in control of the money at this time *sigh* and wont let me just get the game, but ya see she wants a ps3 for herself, so this bundle has brought me hope! Thank you for bringing hope to the whooped such as myself!

  • MGS4 is the single greatest game I have ever played. That’s all I have to say

  • Kojima, if you want to make a 5th one I’ll buy it.

And with LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Resistance 2 that only PS3 owners will be able to exclusively enjoy. @ Scott Steinberg not to mention Siren Blood curse, The Agency, Afrika, HOME?,Killzone 2-next year-,Infamous, and more. And thats just from SONY.

Oh and the RPG’s are on the way. The heavy hitters Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and Last Remnant , as well as Level 5’s Shirokishi Monogatari (White Knight Story)I think that there are over a dozen RPGs in the works right now. Hudson’s untitled action RPG, Rengoku The End of the Century, Bandai Namco Games’ untitled RPG and Project D from Michael Soft.

  • MGS4 looks to be the greatest seller of ps3’s in 08 besides final fantasy 13. Congrates on the exellent game and future games.

However, I am concerned about Sony’s current relations with square-enics after hearing about microsofts HUGE steal of star ocean.

  • They said: “Continues A Year of PS3 Blockbusters” but I only liked GTA4, MGS4 and dynasty warriors 6 this year, and only one of those is an exclusive… It START a year of bluckbuster maybe? Humm, not, the great games are for 2k9.. that’s lame. I’m still waiting for final fantasy 13 while squeenix gave those xbots star ocean and infinite undiscovery, wow thanks s-e…

  • MGS4 is the best game ever made!
