Don’t get your hopes up for tomorrow guys. Its going to be the most underwhelming conference of all time. With the same footage and games we’ve been seeing/hearing about for the last 2 years.
Also everyone seems to forget that Blu Ray is going to be part of the 360 eventually too.

You know, DMC4 was announced as a PS3 exclusive, fans rejoiced, 360 fans said it looked lame, NG was better anyway, ect, then it got announced for the 360 and they’re suddenly singing a different tune, PS3 fans go about saying Sony is doomed. So then you have both sides arguing over which looks better, then it’s released, everyone plays it, and suddenly they stopped caring. Same with GTA4, and it’ll be no different with FFXII, same old song and dance.
Oh right, both of those titles can’t compare to the majesty of FF games.

@362 Dude I at least read it I am 100% with u. Square…bs They are not developers that have my respect anymore, they just blew it off to the ppl. Go to kotaku for the Square enix conference u will see im talking that because of hardware stff they decided it to go for the 360. BS
I knew exclusive titles were becoming fewer and fewer, but part of my believed that FFXIII was going to be one of them. I guess with GTA and DMC already going multi-platform, FF is no exception. Let’s see how many DVD’s it will fill up.

Guys, it’s not like FFXIII is a 360 exclusive. SE sold FFXII to MS but we’re still getting it on the PS3.
Sony is investing on their own studios while M$ is spending money to buy third party ports and timed exclusives and selling their own studios. I believe the only studio left is Rare even Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios (now Ensemble Studios) are independent now.
Anyway, I’m also really disappointed with SE. They should have kept their word and they didn’t.
The silence from Sony is deafening. Tomorrow is going to be so painful to watch them stumble around on stage trying to put a positive spin on their console. What a joke.

Im annoyed about FF13 as well, but waht can you do, its a business. Sony has stuff to unveil tomrrow, and well as show off more games, and i dont think that they will let this go by without a shot right back at Microsoft.

sony better get together cause i been with sony ever since before the ps1 when they were going to make a system with nintendo or they can count 1 less ps3 user and 1 more 360 user.
The bottom line is, if Sony could afford to fund Lair and Heavenly Sword (I’m not saying Heavenly Sword is a terrible game, just that it wasn’t worth the money Sony invested in it), which much have cost at least $50 million combined, from developers with spotty track records, they could have afforded to secure games like Final Fantasy XIII.
Focusing on profitability and the end of major third party exclusives (except, 360 and Wii have plenty of big third party exclusives) or whatever else Sony musters up in response to this is hot air. They could have kept Final Fantasy exclusive if they were smarter with their resources.

Star Ocean 4 – Ouch a JRPG stolen
Tales of Vesperia – Another ouch as another JRPG is stolen
Final Fantasy XIII – PS3’s pride & joy, taken away, have fun recouping this loss…if it’s even possible D:

That’s not the point, its about keeping a game “exclusive” to a console. Sony could have prevent this, they know damn well how famous FF is for Playstation fans, but as usual… they don’t give a sh*t.
Plus to the comments that FFXIII is only now not exclusive, I’ll bet my entire PS collection on it that the 360 will see FFXIII “first”.
I normally don’t pay attention to fanboy commentary, but I have to say I agree with the sentiments expressed on here. Having been a Playstation owner and loyalist since the very beginning, I can say that, yes, one game franchise can be, and has been a cornerstone to the brand.
You’re fooling yourself if you don’t think FFVII, and consequently VIII and IX, were primary reasons for the success of the original Playstation.
X and XII were also huge reasons to continue my support of the Playstation brand.
I purchased a PS3 as my only HD gaming system, confident that the Playstation brand would deliver the diverse library it always has in the past, and, of course, in anticipation of Final Fantasy XIII.
Recently, someone asked me a question that struck me. Looking through my collection of PS3 games, I was asked “Do you have any games that don’t involve a car or a gun?”.
So I looked through my titles: Resistance, MGS4, Warhawk, GTA IV, Burnout Paradise, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, COD4, GT5:P…
Oh, wait there’s one! Oblivion. A multi-plat launch title, and STILL the only worthwhile RPG on the system.
It’s not that I haven’t had a blast with the games listed above, but as an avid and habitual gamer, I can only take so many war and racing themed games before it grows tired. Aside from Little Big Planet, there don’t appear to be any exclusive titles coming up for the PS3 outside of filler PSN games that even suggest diversity from this trend.
What’s my point?
I’m now disappointed with my choice in systems. I’ve missed out on Mass Effect, Bioshock (too little too late on that one), Lost Odyssey, and now I will miss out on Infinite Undiscovery, and I’ll be getting Last Remnant after people have already played through it (and the inevitable spoilers that will be posted).
I’ll still buy and play through Final Fantasy XIII, but if I hadn’t been *lied to* about it’s exclusivity (I don’t care if it was S-E or Sony… it was still a lie), I would have made a different choice for my next-gen system.
You can believe I will next time.

ken kutaragi is part of the reason sony has had so many downfalls. He wanted to use cell processing making a convoluted architecture forsaking 3rd parties adding a slow bluray drive and you can see how they made a sega saturn with a nintendo 64 like management philosophy of “quality vs quantity” nonsense.

From the SE press: FFXII is only coming to NA and Europe on 360 not in Japan on 360, Confirmed. Hashimoto says it’s becasue of the 360 install base in Japan.

Remember the same pricks at SE mentioning that about Last Remnant? Guess what, the 360 is getting the game “first”.
