  • great update but since theres no trophie support its a no buy for now

  • you can’t download to keep the HD movies because what would that would hurt Bluray sales . and i completely understand this, i love my bluray movies (especially when they are not eating away my HDD space!)

  • Yeah Bionic Commando!!

  • Still no Life with Playstation??? :(

  • Another awesome update Sony! So much for the “Summer slump.” I am actually back-logged with games. Keep up the great work!

  • How much is street fighter?

  • Nice update this week, although nothing new on Avatars. Some time ago somebody mentioned you were working on new PSN Avatars for sometime in July.

Are you still working on those? We have been living with the same avatars for almost 2 years now…

    • New Avatars are in the works.
We\’re working towards a late fall update for them as previously stated, and not July as you thought.
Also, if you haven\’t checked the avatar list since launch, there have been several updates since.
Hope this helps to correct your confusion!

  • Any news on when No Gravity will hit the US servers.

  • Ohh def trying out the BC demo and that Bioshock theme i’m def all over that. Very nice update this week!

  • We need some LittleBigPlanet trailers!

  • Life with Playstation?
    Maybe next Thursday :(

  • Any word on new PSN avatars?

  • Sorry to be offtopic but an word on when the Home beta selection process will be done?

  • nevermnd.

  • Damn, hope its on Europe Next week

  • No PS1 RPGs? No Disgaea 3 themes? No trophies? = no update for me, thanx

  • NHL and Tiger in the same week…sweet! Thx for the great update.

  • I agree, more LBP trailers!

  • Decent update…I guess we still have to wait for “Life with Playstation.” Only 2 Thursday’s left this month!! Any news on it??

  • Great update. Everyone loves demos. Keep them coming.

After setting my downloads I came across an inconvenience that should be addressed in the next firmware update. In our downloads section can we get a “move up queue” and “move down queue” with the pause/start options.

I always go to new releases on the PS Store and go in order through the new listings. It would be nice to be able to then prioritize them once I’m out of the store by putting the videos first because they are smaller or maybe there is a hot new demo I want to play so I want to put that first. It would be nice instead of having to pause all the rest just to get the one I want up top.

That would be awesome. Keep up the GREAT support.

  • This is a nice update
BTW does Bionic support trophies right now?
And good luck next week in london (i think its next week and that where the location is)

  • No price for Street Fighter Alpha?

    ;) That mean it’s free?

  • I feel like asking this is beating the dead horse but, here goes, and sorry to inconvenience…

I know BC will have trophies patched, but will it be retroactive? I can’t seem to find a clear answer on this one?

Either way, a must buy, all you new schoolers have a thang er two to learn from this gem! :)

(first post, long time lurk, yay!… P.S. pretty please send me my home email today, thank you, and good night!)

  • Is it possible to get say trailers for games to come out during the week and not to have to wait until thursdays? By the time thursday roles around most of the gaming sites already have the trailers up. Since the video store gets updated thru out the week thought maybe trailers could also.

  • @72
It’s $5.99. Says it under the psp section

  • Oh, I don’t need a demo of BC– instant buy for a piece of my childhood re-imagined. I also appreciate Capcom/GRIN putting out the 3-part documentary on the making of– just a nice bonus to go along with the game.

@39: Sometimes they put the game out first, then the demo. Gets those implulse buyers out of the way for a little extra scratch in the corporate coffers.

Everything else– Mirror’s Edge trailer, Last Guy gameplay, BC Theme– my birthday’s not ’til next month Sony! :P

  • Disregard last message, upon further scrolling down I noticed it’s also listed in the PC store w/ a price XD

Nice update, and hoping I get that home beta email!

  • Runs in checks the store, see’s all the goodies. turns around to run out and get a prepaid visa only to knock myself out for 10 minutes by running flat into the door. Whoa haven’t been this excited since I got my PS3.

  • Seriously…is Wipeout ever getting released?

  • Thanks for getting SF Alpha for the PS3/PSP onto the store. I’ve been dying to get more AAA high quality PS1 games besides Castlevania SOTN and WipeOut that I’ve already got. I love the ability to play this on both platforms on my HDTV or on the go. More, please!!

  • One of the best PS Store update!!!!! As I said on the BC post: “OH boy!!!!! You can’t see me now but I’m doing circle on the floor on my side (a la Homer Simpson).

Thanks for the good work! It’s appreciated!

BTW, not that I want to whine for nothing, but I’m a little bit desapointed of the “suprise” (SF Alpha). I thought that the suprise was SF II HD Beta, as an other platform already has… ;)

  • Glad to see another PSone Classic going to get that and Bionic Commando (works with remote play) awesome. We are getting Driver next week right?

What happened to Jet Moto 3 that was released on February 21, 2008?
    http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psnetwork&thread.id=225812

  • It’s cool that Capcom released Bionic Commando in a somewhat timely manner, what the hell is taking them so long with SSFIIT:HDR? Its pretty pathetic that that games was supposed to be out last year and still have no idea when its coming out.

  • Great Updated as always.

Hey Jeff, any news or updates on High Velocity Bowling? As far as online play or trophey support. I know they were going through some staff “changes” but any info would be nice. HVB is a very fun game from the PSN, it will be a shame to let it die off.

  • I’ve been reading that playstation home is available? is this true?

    • You can download the PlayStation Home Application Theme which enters you in to the selection for the Expanded Beta.
More details to follow, but as of now, Home is NOT available outside of the Closed Beta.
Again – unless you read it here on the Official PlayStation Blog, consider anything else to be unconfirmed rumour.

  • terrific update. Forgot it was already thursday. once again thank you for delivering free services!!

  • CANADIAN PS3 VIDEO STORE PLEASE
    CANADIAN PS3 VIDEO STORE PLEASE

  • I would be downloading some stuff today if I actually had my PS3. Great update!

  • Wow nice update, lots of demos and videos. Looks like I’m downloading all night!

  • Sweets!
    Keep the PS1 Classics coming!!
    How about some PS2 Classics…
    hmmm?

  • Has anyone else noticed that the downloads are extremely fast today?

  • Great Update! Getting BCR & Street Fighter. Any idea on when trophies will hit BC? I’ll have to buy Eden to hold me over for now haha. Trophy wh**e.

  • I was just wondering. If you set a different theme than the HOME theme. Can you still be picked for the beta? I already downloaded the HOME theme. But I haven’t changed my theme because idk if it will affect my chances.

Please say it won’t affect my chances because I want to have than bioshock theme.

    • The only thing you have to do to be considered for Home is download the Home Application Theme (the blue-print looking one).
Even though I will be personally saddened to know that you\’re not going to use it, you don\’t have to use it to still be considered.
Besides – if you\’re going to use any other Theme, the BioShock one is a great substitution for an AMAZING game.

  • @93, Seting the theme or having it set does not do anything as far as the beta is concerned.

If you downloaded it, that is all you can do.

  • great update!

looks like I’m the only one excited about the Tiger Woods 09 demo- hope it still supports gameface!

also, i’m glad you guys finally got that 1942 demo out, been looking forward to trying it out!

and some cool new themes and wallpapers…thanks!

and ONLY $5.99 for Street Fighter Alpha?!?!!?? sweeeeet!!!! (it IS playable on the PS3, not just the PSP, right?)

it’s neat how that whole game is only 80 megs! lol! i mean, just one song for rock band is like 50 megs by itself…

    ah, technology marches forward..

but i’m going retro and playing some Bionic Commando rearmed tonight!

    cheers!

    PS

So, it looks like Life with Playstation must be coming out next week..August is almost half over! hope it doesn’t slip away further, that would make poor Jacky T. into quite the liar..or supremely misinformed…

  • incredible update. two incredible games i can’t wait to download and 4 demos. pluse a Bioshock theme that should be cool.

i’m all the way in. excellent news on a thursday. great job guys. sincerely…thank you.

  • we need more ps1 games like bring it out you guys WILL profit from it and make them a reasonable price too so i can buy them also and make then come out like every week and not only firdt party ps1 games bring some final fantasy to the PSN

  • @94 Cool, thanks for the letting me know. Bioshock theme time.

  • Hello? Life with Playstation?

    Are you there?

  • Thanks for Street Fighter Alpha. I’m hoping it’s popular enough for SCEA to see PS1 games as bringing in “significant monies” and start putting real effort into getting us more classics. It was a real letdown to read Shuhei Yoshidas comments about PS1 games not being profitable enough to invest a lot of resources on in NA. I truly believe that if they had released Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil, the revenue couldn’t have been ignored. Here’s hoping for more PS1 games. Thanks again.
