We have Lift-Off!!
As you may or may not have heard, the burning question recently has been – “HOW THE HECK DO I GET ON THE LITTLEBIGPLANET PUBLIC BETA!?!?”
Some of our friends in Europe found out this week and are still recovering. If you have been frequenting sites like GameInformer.com, GamePro, and GameSpot you might have scored a key already or are waiting to hear back. Even our friends at G4 are in the mix.
Where will this elusive beta strike next?
If I were a betting man, (and I am) I’d say it would be sure to hit more of your favorite gaming sites in the next few days. I’d be looking for sites that have been covering games for years. Staking out passionate gaming communities or locations online where you can view the latest gaming videos. Of course I would be surprised if the Public Beta didn’t show up in places where you’d expect to get all the latest LBP info and updates.
All I can say is we are super happy to give some of you a chance to get a sneak peak at what LittleBigPlanet is all about. I have officially stopped doing office work for the next few weeks in anticipation of all the levels you all are going to make. (I’m going to be too busy playing and building.) If you are one of the lucky ones who score a key, thank you in advance for participating and helping us get our servers ready for our launch on October 21st!

ps- Quick question, I know we announced all the cool pre-order goodies already but I’m wondering which one you are all going for….let’s say we have an on-going bet in the office. (Told you I was a betting man.)
Please note the following instructions below which will help you install the Public Beta voucher:
1) Public Beta Ends October 11th, 2008
2) You must use a consumer PLAYSTATION® 3 system that is connected to the internet.
3) You must have a PLAYSTATION®Network Account.
4) If you have previously redeemed a LBP voucher code, you must delete any old LBP data (along with save data and game data) and download this version
(go to Download History and redownload the new code).
5) This version does not require a DNS redirect and levels created here will be available for consumers at launch of the full title.
6) Please refrain from creating anything inappropriate, as we do have moderation in place and it may result in your account being suspended or banned.
Downloading the LittleBigPlanet Public Beta.
After you have signed in with your PLAYSTATION Network Account, select [Account Management] on the XMB interface located under the ‘PLAYSTATION Network’ tab, then select [Transaction Management] and click on the option ‘Redeem PLAYSTATION Network Card or Promotion Code’. Enter the following unique code to start the download of LittleBigPlanet.
I got my game preordered at Gamestop for the Sackboy DLC. I want one of these keys!
Well I’ve checked out the links, including the LBP news site, 1up, and the others and there deosn’t seem to be any word on Beta keys. I spent a good portion of last Thursday hoping for an email re: the Home beta…lol. Sony and Media Molecule are trying to get me in hot water with my editors! I know it! :-)
Charliesdad, I checked too. I think they are starting to roll out, one site said check on Monday.
Already pre-ordered. This game is going to kick ass!

anyway, why did eurogamer get 20000 beta keys and we just get sporadic amounts at different websites?
Ohh I wanted the Sack to protect my game. :-) But the only thing available in Canada is ebgames (gamestop) for the Kratos skin. :-(

I bought Wipeout HD(is the best PSN game yet) and also BO paradise so if I don’t get a beta key I guess I’ll just wait till Oct 21 with those two games!

I pre-ordered for the Kratos costume. About the Beta keys… we were told on the forums that Sony was sending them out in emails, yet no one in North America has received anything. Can you clarify if SCEA is going to show North America some LittleBigPlanet love??
Definitely went with the Kratos.
I was very surprised to get an invite from Game Informer. After being passed up by the GAP on every beta test [PS3] I’ve been asked to participate in I thought my Beta Testing days were over. It was worth the wait because I’d MUCH rather have LBP than Warhawk, Home, and the others I’ve been invited to. Now if I could only find Killzone 2. ;)

After refreshing Eurogamer for two hours to try and get in on that beta, i’ve been checking all my usual gaming sites as much as possible, I really don’t want to miss out on this beta too! I also pre-ordered at Gamestop.
I got the Kratos one but wanted Nariko.
i’m not holding my breath, i never get betas and codes.
i got the socom beta due to pre order and qore. didnt get HOME beta and after 2 tries at LBP beta with no word i’m just going to accept that the first time i get my hands on LBP will be on launch day as i have it pre ordered at gamestop.. go kratos

I went for the Amamzon “level creation guide” even though i really wanted the Nariko skin….oh well
and i wanted to add the reason i went with the LittleBigPouch is because i rather make my sackboy/girl than use one that everyone else is using.

not 1800 here. 2000 there. that is stupid as hell and a cheap gimmick to create more user floodage to LAME gaming websites.
meh – i’ll wait till after the reviews. creativity in a game is nice but is it truly fun? how about the graphics mixed with the gameplay? i haven’t been following this but how about multiplayer, trophies?

I actually preordered the game 4 times to get all the different gifts I wanted.
I got mine from a German site that has low traffic, a kid on QJ.net has a quick walkthrough on how to fill in the form. Follow his instructions and you have a good chance i got mine an hour ago. You need a UK account to enter the code with, my wife already is playing. you can set up a UK account aesily as it is in english, use a UK hotel address. Can we still get Home Beta codes? lol Why didn’t they promote Home like they are doing with this game. This is like one of the most innovative marketing campaigns of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The game is 3 weeks away and we were told to expect an annoucement almost a month ago! If there’s no pre-order in the next week, there’s no point pre-ordering at all.
In fact, at this point, I’ll just settle on there’s no point pre-ordering at all.
