As many of you have been asking for the PLAYSTATION Network Cards (especially in light of the huge PLAYSTATION Store content update yesterday)), we are excited to let you know that we have a full roll-out at major retailers on the way. The PLAYSTATION Network Cards will be available at Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam’s Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008. Cards are available in $20.00 and $50.00 denominations and are currently offered at BLOCKBUSTER, Pamida, Meijer Superstores and Speedway store locations.

We’ll continue to update you as these cards are available in these stores and as they become available in more retail locations.

  • i hate you…i couldn’t wait any longer so i used my credit card …

  • it is really nice to hear this

but are you planning to have psn cards at amazon.com ?????????

  • Anyone posting about seeing this in your country…..post your comments and complaints to Sony of what country you live in. Example Sony of Australia. This is a US Playstation blog and any mod by nature can only comment on US products and such. Each country has their own company and they all have different priorities and Sony of America feels that PSN cards are important…if you want your country to find these important then forward your comments to your countries Sony Website(may not be a blog but theres always an official page to forward concerns to). To my knowledge Sony of Japan doesn’t even have these cards….I may be wrong though.

  • Don’t get me wrong though…feel free to post what you want I guess but don’t expect any changes to happen because of what you say since the people in charge of this blog aren’t the ones who make the decisions about what countries and retailers that will have these next. They’re just the messengers, so don’t shoot them.

  • Actuly Sony Japan has had these cards for over 2 years (for all major Japanese retailers), and the UK has had them trickle in for about 1 year. The US has had none for 2 years. So it’s about time if you ask me. I know about a few PSP things I’ll buy once these hit the store after I get my new PSP 3000 model.

Super Stardust Portable, and FlOw Portable here I come! Good thing I have a 4GB memory stick.

  • Awesome news. :]

  • When are the cards hitting Australia??? I dont use credit cards and there are games on PSN I want…whats the deal your throwing sooooo much money away….

  • @16 (JustVashu), 38 (EViD), and whoever else who wonders if they’ll be available at Amazon.com…

Why use the website as the middle man when you can input your credit card info directly thru the PS Store? It doesn’t make sense to me to go thru that website in order to purchase items from the store, when you’re prolly gonna use a credit card to purchase that card at Amazon anyway.

I mean, hello? Defeats the purpose!

Can someone explain to me why someone would go through all that when they can just use the credit card directly at the PS store?

  • Well, it’s about time!

With the PSN Cards now coming to Best Buy and Wal*Mart, they’re basically being distributed nationwide.

The bad news? With them at these stores, everyone and their mother that owns a PS3 and/or a PSP will be making these things sell out of their $20 versions quickly, I think.

  • Can someone tell me when GameStop is going to sell them? :O

  • are u planning to sell this cards at amazon.com ??

    somebody knows about this ?

  • WHEN THE [DELETED] WILL THEY BE AVAILABLE IN CANADA?

The retarded credit card system REFUSES to accept my CC info and calling a Sony rep and practically BEGGING them to give them money has absolutely no [DELETED] effect.

Way to go to encourage people to spend money on the PSN. FIX THE [DELETED] CREDIT CARD POS!

I should have bought an x-box!
