  • I just had to say how impressed I am that Dylan Jobe is actually reading through these comments to answer warhawk questions in a post not really about warhawk.

I’ll also say how impressed I am with the support for warhawk since release. The mix of paid and free content is perfect. Constantly improving what I thought was practically perfect since launch.

So I may as well ask a question…

Any new Warhawk expansions or patches in development?

    Thanks

  • Just tried the Warhawk demo and was wondering if you guys could share the code with other developers that allows access to music stored on the hard while playing the game?

  • You know, I tried the whole theme thing with the free themes, and I always find myself going back to the awesome silky default XMB theme.

Oh, and I’ll add that I’m among the crowd that wants some of those PSone games that Japan is enjoying right now; more specifically Alundra and Einhander.

  • I would like to request a University of South Carolina theme to be made.

  • I’m actually rather disappointed in the paid themes. I’m not seeing one for me. Where’s the Georgia Tech theme?

  • wait is dead space out now??

  • Nope dead space isn’t out yet. lol

I am not paying for a PS3 theme.

  • why am I not surprised? The PC version of the store always get crappy updates.

  • I am really enjoying the preview feature for the paid for themes. Why cant we have that for the non paid themes as well?

  • Just a little recomendation: down the anual subscription of Qore to $20.00 or make $25.00 PSN Cards.

  • Overall, an excellent update, however again I’m very disappointed with the “premium” themes and paid demos (i.e. Quore).

As mentioned by others, paying for themes is a bit objectionable, but all the more so when the theme in question is promoting a new game release (Bioshock!). My money is better spent on something like “Linger in Shadows”.

I’m not holding out much hope of any increase in the output rate of PS1 releases. I recall hearing that that type of content isn’t particularly profitable for Sony, where as I imagine these “premium” themes offer a better value (at least for Sony). It’s interesting to see the deluge of these paid themes, versus the small number of freebies.

This nickel and diming only serves to frustrate consumers.

  • Seriously though, where is Soldner-X and Red Baron Arcade? It’s lame they get pushed back and we get no info on it.

  • ok I’m an idiot, How are you guys previewing the paid themes? I could not find this feature last night.

  • Neither could I, =/

  • university of guelph theme please

  • most of the paid themes are catered to dudes :(

  • The themes are nice but my limit is .99 cents. anything more for something you can’t even play seems unjustified..

    Here’s the link.

  • Tis weeks updates were not that great. To think that Sony would really put out themes that we are already getting from elsewhere for free or paid membership, and charge us for them not cool. Then don’t even have animation in the background which i strongly believe would have made them sell. As for the demo it was painstakingly obvious that instead of a car there should have been for example a human shaped robot or some other object that could easily be used to stop the balls. This is the 21st century and we keep coming up with the most ridiculous things for games. I hope i eventually get into this business and not do the same.

  • Hi u doing Grace, I heard about the update for puzzle quest like last week; I downloaded the game recently now mind you i beat this game already on PSP. I do not see the difference; where is the ‘Wrath of the Plague Lord’ expansion pack, don’t see any change is it in the game does it show up after you beat the first part.

  • Can’t seem to find a theme for my school. How’s about some love for the #6 team in the nation those Nittany Lions.

    WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!

    PENN STATE!!!!!!!!

  • great update… any word on a ff13 demo yet? shesh! i’ve been waiting forever for it…lol

  • They have to charge for themes because the content needs to be licensed. It’s not like the web where people can do whatever they want and aren’t held accountable. The universities and even game copyright owners are licensing specific usage rights to Sony so they can do that. It’s not like Sony doesn’t have to pay people to license as well as create the themes.

  • @It’s a 5 minute graphical demo that is only a little over 100mb in size.

Then they shouldn’t be charging for it at all.

    >No company in their right mind would distribute that on any sort of physical media. It sells to a niche audience and the cost of producing and shipping it to stores would be way to much for something that sells for only $2.99

Then why sell it if it’s such a niche product?

    >For games that are larger in size, I agree with you that having a physical copy is better. A 100mb file that is no longer than 5 minutes in one play cycle that appeals to a very small crowd isn’t cost effective enough to produce in physical form.

Either produce it in physical form or don’t sell it. There is *no* grey area on this issue.

  • Great update indeed. Looking forward to checking out the games in Qore.

  • @Wuggyboobeaufuf

Well, Sony owns the rights to it, not you. They will continue to make things available for purchase online only. You either move along with it, or get left behind.

I am going to end the debate over this with you here. You bring up some good points, but it’s not going to change. You can boycott all you want, other people will still buy it. If boycotting worked, EA wouldn’t still be making rushed games with bugs in them and they wouldn’t still own the rights to exclusively make NFL games.

  • I was wondering where the Qore episode was last week. Anyway its presence here makes this week’s update all the more awesome. And yes I concur “warhawk demo!”. Linger in Shadows is awesome. Glad to see all the dlc add-ons. Always glad to know developers haven’t forgotten a game once its been released. Love the NatGeo style LBP vids.

Please, please add some form of preview for the premium themes. Would like at least a clear pic of the background/icons.

  • okay i just read the link for disruptive publishers. Those images should have been included on the PSN. At least you can see the multiple backgrounds and the icon styles.

  • Awesome update! I just bought Guilty Gear Judgment, and it is a steal at $6!

Wish the Valkria Chronicles Demo was free, though, that’s a game I think more people should pay attention to.

  • Quick Q, how do I set my avatar? Do I seriously have to use that Gravatar thing? Because there’s this one pic that I always use, and I prefer to be consistent.

  • Sweet update. As far as the demos coming out in Qore first, if you subscribe to Qore, it costs $25. If you wait a couple weeks they’re free. As far as paid themes, check em out. If you don’t like em, don’t buy em. Also, Dead Space looks awesome.

  • What a great update! Time to tear into some of this stuff.

  • its like you read my mind.. I always wanted to play warhawk and now I get the chance to before i buy it.,, I mean I litterally walked by it in the store ! I will download it now and get to training….

    Any Word On Home?

  • @Wuggyboobeaufuf

Well, Sony owns the rights to it, not you. They will continue to make things available for purchase online only. You either move along with it, or get left behind.

It’s not about getting “left behind”. As a consumer, I damn well have THE RIGHT to *demand* the content on the format that *I* >want.

    >I am going to end the debate over this with you here.

    Good, because I’m right.

    >You bring up some good points,

    Because I’m right.

    >but it’s not going to change.

It better – because I’m not going to shut up about it on this blog until it does.

    >You can boycott all you want, other people will still buy it.

Then they are idiots. It’s not about boycotting anyway. It’s about making sure that *other* voices are heard and Sony gets the point that more than one method of content delivery is valid.

  • I’m loving the Premium Themes guys…keep it up…!!!

  • @Wuggyboobeaufuf

    >Then they are idiots. It’s not about boycotting anyway. It’s about making sure that *other* voices are heard and Sony gets the point that more than one method of content delivery is valid.

That makes you an idiot too man lol…

More than one method of content deliveri IS ALREADY VALID…Just not to EVERY CONTENT.

ADD-ONS on BLURAY aren’t possible because of production costs…

NOT THAT IT MATTERS ANYWAY…FOR EVERY STUFF YOU DON’T BUY THERE ARE MANY OTHERS LIKE ME THAT WILL BUY EITHER PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL CONTENT.

You are indeed entitled to say as you wish, but so are we…

I ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO *Demand* the content on the format that *I* want….and that is BOTH ARE FINE TO ME…so..YELL THE F UP…WE WILL YELL HARDER

  • BTW Sony doesn’t own or create the premium themes, or decide over content inside Qore and make a profit for allowing that content to be sold on the PSN.

Like BestBuy doesn’t own or create PS3 or computers…they make a profit selling them, software and content is the same.

If a small studio can’t sell stuff in physical media because lacks the money, they can try to sell a digital version of it wich is cheaper and faster to make.

  • @ Wuggyboobeaufuf

For example, if Wuggyboobeaufuf charges $2.99 to “physically interact with his mom” (assuming she is good looking) in his neighborhood, he would probably make a profit.

BUT what if he sold a video of his mom over the internet (again, assuming she is good looking).

YES, HE WILL PROBABLY MAKE MORE MONEY BECAUSE IT WOULD BE FASTER, LESS EXPENSIVE AND LESS TYRING…

Physical media isn’t to make what you want, there are rules that still apply, you can’t legally make copies of your ps3 bluray games, that’s why they only play on a ps3, they are DRM protected, *you own the physical media* not the content.

Owning “physical media” entitles you to 2 things, enjoy the content the way it states on the EULA or do whatever you want with the “physical media” not the content.

  • @237 – You’re not supposed to need add-ons to Blu-Ray because there’s supposed to be enough space to do eveything you want! If you buy DLC, then you are part of the problem.

    @239 – Grow up.

  • After I made my last comment I went to PSN and found the links for the premium theme previews. They either weren’t there the first time I looked or they just didn’t load. Either way, thanks.

  • Question…

Why is it that we are not able to get cool PS One classics like Resident Evil 1 and 2?
On the Japanese Playstation store they are available… It would be really cool to be able to purchase those great titles that defined an entire generation, come on Sony, you can do it… right?

  • There sure alot of whiners on this blog…. If you hate Sony so much, go play your X-box! Let us enjoy our great content, and free online gameplay. :-)

  • @Plastic
Great work with Linger In Shadows.
I’ll be waiting for the next chapters.

  • Great update but…LOL @ paying for themes.

  • Well as I see, the mods sometimes reply to the comments left on here so I decided to ask my question here.

Why isn’t the one year subscription to Qore available???

I bought (my first issue) Qore #5 and I really liked it so I came back to buy a full year subscription and now I can’t find it anywhere on the playstation store, so if anyone could tell me why it happened I’d be glad.

    Thanks!
