We’ve noticed a couple of comments today on the blog from gamers who purchased SOCOM Confrontation; you’ve been asking “Where are the trophies?”
Well, I just wrapped up a conversation with the SOCOM team, where they’ve confirmed the fact that trophies *will* be coming, via a patch, within the next couple of weeks.

I have an Xbox360 and have just recently purchased the PS3; my primary reason for buying the ps is for Socom. Anyhow I pre ordered my game and got it right on time and spent every chance i could in between work to get it working on the first day.
So here we are the second day, and I got on at lunch with no problems. I was pleased to say the least. Then tonight happened. I’ve spent my entire evening trying to either log on, trying to find a room that doesnt disconnect you when it starts, or trying to find a room period that I can join and play. I was successful a few times, but more often than not I caught myself cussing this game more than I have liked it.
So here I am writing on a ******* blog on the ps website. I think my final straw here is when i get here the main blog it sends me to is about ‘trophies’. seriously who gives a crap about the trophies? How about a blog about problems they’re having and that they’re going to be addressing the major problems here. Dont insult my intelligence or any of these other people that spent their hard earned money buying your product.
And to all of you that dont have an Xbox you should get one. you may contemplate selling your ps3 as I am right now. And this is coming from a die hard playstation person. it’s only 200 bucks now for an xbox.
Great game, great headset, and way to get firmware 2.5 ready in time. Thanks, I will not be getting much sleep tonight.

This is sad. I constantly defend sony and the ps3 but things like this make it hard. The headset is great and has great sound quality. I have waited a long time to play this game and i worked my schedule so i could have some time to play today. Now with the servers being down even if they fix it tommorow i won’t have time to play till next week. Total BS
I almost pulled my hair out trying to get the game to start. FUBAR!
I must say that so far, the whole experience has been one disappointment after another. I really enjoyed the previous games so I hope this one is worth the wait.
To all the haters out there, I feel you’re pain but when was the last time XBOX gave you a brand new game for $40? Never, that’s when. I’ve yet to play Socom yet but I do like the headset, works well with my phone :D

Holy whiners..Warhawk had issues to on it’s first day and now look at it..runs smooth and no lag. This will happen here to ..be patient and play Deadspace till it’s fixed, but the way some of the whining been going on in here they’re probably not old enough to buy it anyway.

So the big question on the PS Blog is when are we gonna see trophies?? Are you blind? A more appropriate question would be WHEN IS THE GAME THAT WE PAID FOR GOING TO ACTUALLY WORK?? That would seem like something that you might want to be asking the powers that be.
I mean, the BETA was a complete joke. They fixed nothing and when we asked questions about whats being done were told to not worry, the GOLD edition will be fixed and ready to play. Well guess what, all the /6 coolaid drinkers have been proven wrong and here we are just like we feared, with a completed “GOLD” game that nobody can play.

No word from Slant Six about the problems with the game?? I mean, they didn’t expect such a big turnout for this game, really?? I’m glad I just paid $60 for a bluetooth headset and a game disc that I can “only” watch the intro to. So…what to do now…
True, Warhawk did have its issues. I can give it a day or two, but I certainly hope I don’t have any issues with Socom when I get it tomorrow.
Unlike maddmatt69, I think Xbox 360 and PS3 both suck right now. Really Socom is the only video game I play at all, and the only reason I even bought one console. If it is garbage, then I’m just going to have to go back to the PS2.
In any case, I will give this a few days and see what happens. Trophies don’t matter much and the beta wasn’t that bad so we will see. Also, Little Big Planet was hot so I’ll probably play that a lot if all else fails. That, and Bioshock.
I thought that there was supposed to be tropies. The one blog post way back said they were supposed to come with the game at launch though.
Also I’m having trouble connecting to the SOCOM server. I picked up my preorder expecting to play some today on my day off from school and try out the new mic, but keep getting a “Failed to login to server” error. One i was able to get on but got booted off while customizing my SEAL character.
Well I got SOCOM only for the headset and its an excellent headset. I haven’t even opened up SOCOM yet and now I don’t think I will until the trophies are patched into the game. Only reason being is that I am not a huge SOCOM fan and I am dissapointed that the trophies weren’t supported at launch.
i have baught the game, only to crash into a brick wall after 3hours of downloading 1.10patch come to find out its corrupted, and forced to delete it and reinstall it again.
Why didn’t they just delay the game for a couple of weeks for implementation? I’d rather wait for the final product than to have a quarter of the experience missing.

Very confused. I have downloaded the 2.50 and have done the first game download. When I try the third download, I have the file in my XMB, but the file is corrupt. So I have to delete the file and start over. I have done this twice with the same result. I have Comcast Broadband and have the PS3 hardlined so its not a connection problem. as is willzspot, I’m VERY frustrated & confused. My problem is this: game software update (3rd update I believe) encounters an error every time & will not complete. Same #’s at the end of each error – (80710723). I hope this means something to you & can be of some assistance in getting my BRAND NEW $65 game to run. This is the very reason I’m not a PC game fan, too many hardware & software updates to keep up with. Just sell me a console that plays a game I buy off the shelf, no hardware firmware software bullcrapware updates, let me get to shootin.

They released an unfinished product without trophies but thats just the beginning. WHERE IS THE PARTY SYSTEM? I cannot join a game a friend is in, or join a game together like EVERY OTHER GAME (Warhawk, Bad Company, etc).
There are also bugs and lag problems, as well as slow load times. When it does work, the game is awesome, but it WASN’T DONE and because of this it’s gonna get poor reviews and never reach the sales it could have had.
I paid 60+ dollars on a game that I can’t even play. This should not have happened!
After spending 3 hours getting it setup, I find that I can’t even log on to the network TO PLAY AN ONLINE ONLY GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING, BEFORE YOU BUY! THE GAME DOESN’T SELF-INSTALL! YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE THE PS3 SOFTWARE, REBOOT, INSTALL SOCOM, THEN INSTALL THE “DATA INSTALLER” ALMOST AN HOUR OF TIME WASTED. ON TOP OF ALL THIS, THE GAME DATA IS SHOWING “CORRUPT” AND THE GAME WILL NOT WORK. DELETING IT IS A BIG CHORE AND AFTER FIVE RE-INSTALLS, IT STILL SHOWS “CORRUPT DATA” (EACH TRY TAKES ABOUT 20M MINUTES!) WAIT TO BUY THIS GAME. IT’S BUGGY AND SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN RELEASED AS IT IS. THERE’S NO “UN-INSTALL” UTILITY, EITHER.
Wow! I was going to snag this game until I saw this post. Talk about a bunch of unhappy gamers. I have plenty of things to spend $60 on (like my next tank of frekin’ gas) so I’ll hold off. Maybe I’ll pick this up next year, because in about a month, I’ll have a list of 6-8 other games I can’t wait to get my paws on. Sad to see this release hasn’t started too great. :(
All you do is just delete the save profile and remake a another if you get the corrupted file thing..don’t have to reinstall a thing..whoever is doing that is wasting their own time lol..Install and update on;y took 15 minutes ..need to upgrade your HD or get better internet connection. This game will have growing pains be patient.

To say the least it worked fine at 300pm today. Then at 630pm rooms were getting booted, then the system wouldn’t initialize, then the servers were down, but wait…..now you can log on get in but good luck finding a room that doesn’t disconnect you or a hundred status messages popping up saying unable to save data.
To top things off you wait on the phone for almost 25minutes just to get some type of answer and they tell you our servers are fine. Well thousands say other wise.
However there was a nice little server news message saying they are aware of the problems and will have it fixed as soon as possible.
Its kinda funny the other socom games never had this type of drama. Now a more advanced system and you spend 65 bucks just to get kicked off.

*dont advertise somthing you dont have(trophies, HOME support?). i would rather see sony go back and patch their older first party titles rather than a broken game. Sony needs to ga back and patch Heavenly Sword and LAIR to name a few that should be patched for trophy support.*

Great headset… but my beloved Socom didn’t make a grand debut on PS3 like I had hoped. After seeing games like Warhawk and Resistance’s online play (with smooth and standard online elements), I had great hopes that Socom would be the killer 3rd person online console shooter… sadly, that isn’t the case. Trophies should be the last thing on the patch list.
I do hope that this latest release isn’t the last we’ll see of Socom on PS3. Maybe, a good solid version with single player and online gameplay will be made in the future.
The game wont even install for me, it just hangs at Installing….Please wait. And has now stayed there for 10 mins, WTF????? I have tried to defend the PS3 but this might be my last straw….

How about get someone to fix the freezing issues, my PS3 froze 5 times within 2.5 hours of playing that game.

Since Sony is looking for ways to make more money of the psn, they should start a service called “Loyalist Moneymaker”. The idea would be to release a service that either froze you ps3 or disconnected you from the psn until you restart the ps3. Since this service is for loyalists who will never complain about anything, Sony would rake in the dough. The price for the annual subscription should be $700 a year since the people who subscribe are blind enough to love anything Sony does, no matter how bone-headed it is.

Not only does SOCOM not have trophies but it also doesn’t have a developer that knows what they’re doing. Not even Resistance and Warhawk had this much lag or problems on launch. And I haven’t even played it yet!! The problems better be fixed by the time it releases in Australia on November 27th.
The game also doesnt have:
custom ranked rooms. A tiebreaker round, transparent scoreboard, text in lobby or even a lobby that is remotely the same as S2 was.
Walked away … came back later and it installed just fine .. weird. After that it was smooth but crowded sailing. If they fix the lag this game will be alright.
