Hi, everyone, I wanted to give you a heads up about an upcoming PS3 firmware update (v2.52). This minor update is coming soon and includes the following:
- The playback quality of some PS3 format software has been improved.
- A text entry issue that occurs when using the on-screen keyboard, USB keyboard or Bluetooth keyboard with some PS3 format software has been addressed.

Yeah …. When the Video Store will come to the Canada ….. and what about putting my own music in the game I play ? I heard it was in the 2.40 firmware update …. but each time I try to play a song when I play a game it says : Can’t use that on the game or something….
Sony need to address the NEW widespread trophies sync error 80022D11 code that many people are getting. I just purchased Motorstorm 2 and started getting trophies, I went to play tonight and I got a notice saying there was an error and I had to quit game. I quit the game and tried to sync and got the error 80022D11.I googled it and many people are having this issue. I can no longer play Motorstorm, Wipeout HD, and most of my trophy related games!! WHAT’S GOING ON WITH THIS SONY? Please help.

Sony, you keep adding features to the internet browser which is good; however, the browser becomes more of a PITA to use with each update it seems. You guys really need to try and fix this; I hope it’s not a limitation of the hardware. My ps would freeze every once in a while before the v2.52 update while using the browser, but since the latest update it freezes every time I use the browser. It’s so frustrating that I felt compelled to log on this site to share, but guess what? The ps would freeze every time I tried to log-in on this site. I finally found a computer to use so I could leave this comment.
Also, you really need to do something about the clock/date/time overlap. If you can’t move the battery indicator, move the date/time indicator for christ sake.
I still have problems with the keyboard
I’ve had my playstation3 since Dec.15,2007 and been a playstation fan since the begining,All I want to know is what do we as fans have to do to get a decent RPG for our console only. I mean sure I played enchanted arms that doesn’t mean it was one of the greats like the RPG’s on the ps2.really I couldn’t nor would i dare compare ff7,ff8,or any of them to what we’re seeing today. ff10 was great,but slowly i began to notice after it’s great era they when down hill.Whats up with that? A few months before they lauched ps3 I heard about their ff7 remake as i’m sure other RPG fan’s then cod4 was dropped along with it’s bad news cancellation of the best RPG ever marketed by ps in fall of 1998.

I have updated to 2.52 and I’m having issues using as a media server with tversity: ALL my movies doesn’t ends at it finish at all. I loose some minutes frome EVERY movie. Any suggest?

There is nothing to do except waiting for an other update from the sony badgers stew cooking chief. Since 2.52 he gave us this gifts :
– WEB BROWSER FREEZE PS3 system
– STREAMING avi video is jerking, stopping, BUFFERING freezing (tversity, Orb, WMP11 etc same)
– WIFI are UNSTABLE : disconnect, loses connection, give imaginary errors… loses media server and others cookies…
Inside the box, the wifi receiver is the worst ever from the galaxy… and web browser still does not have address bar (elementary not ?)… thats don’t help for the next…

Curiously, streaming video problems are exactly the same with huge files. No more, no less. I just stream complete .vob movie files (4,5GB Mpeg2 Vob DvD file) with less problem or same problem than divx or xvid 700MB file… that’s jerk and buffering like xvid or divx, but no more and I can say its better…

I’m looking movie now on Tversity and I stream huge DivX HD hight bitrate 3440kbps !!!! 3GB file with PS3 and this is exactly the same problem or same problem than divx or xvid 700MB file… No more problem, no less problem. may be less curiously…
That’s jerk a little and buffering like xvid or divx 700MB / 900kbps bitrate, but no more, as I can say for Mpeg2 file curiously its better… I can see the complete movie without annoying stop like with low bitrate…
This is a proof thi is NOT a transfer rate problem but really a bug inside the brand new PS3 2.5X firmware…

since this update i can’t see the last login date of some friends and some other people i know have the same issue, will this get fixed???
Ok can you please work on in game music please. Get patches done, it’s been almost two years since the release and I’m getting really fed up with this. I am not the only one.
Can we expect a fix in the forseeable future regarding PAL DVD playback on NTSC consoles, at least CSS/CPPM/RCE unprotected ones?
Also, Folding@Home client sometimes freezes when trying to obtain WU (on 60GB US model).
i really wish playstation would release an update to improve the voice chat so that you could chat to friends while playing different games, i mean xbox can do it so why not the playstation. and also what about in-game music, it only works on about 3 games and stops playing when you quit the game, well annoying! once that is done the ps3 will deffinetly be the superior console.
for the next update for PSP can you make it so you can use a PSP as a wireless network adapter
a few suggestions
let music play while on internet/during games
make the buffering better for streaming videos
make controllers turn off after no use for a while (10mins???)

i would like to download directly caue i have a hard drive thats big enough and i feel my usb should be used for backing up info and i also would like to have a better browser or at lest one that dont crash or tell me my memory is to low can you make a perging system for the memory? also can you make the browser addon friendly also i would like fire fox3 thats if the browser cant be upgraded is there any way i can make that happen with out having to get a operating system thank you for listening

make the ps3 open platform and hand out dev kits and debug units so i can play better games than the crap that you let shareholders allow me to play. screw gta, that franchise has been terrible since its inception. if you know, you know. sport games? please…useless, and every year? please. killzones, resistances, gears of wars(not ps3)-theyre all the same game, which is why so many mainstream, mindless, droid gamers love them.
give us worthwhile firmware updates
They need to add a feature to let you be invisible to other PS3 users if you want to. I didn’t know where to post this but this would be awesome. My boss has PS3 and if I’m “working” from home and have nothing to do i can’t play games
the next update should allow in game music to be universal like how 360 does. Meaning no matter what i can play my music any time.
please bring back full bc for the 40gb and new 80gb models. i have over 50 ps2 games that go to waste. my old ps2 broke and now i am faced with the decision to buy another ps2 or sell my games, (which is now practically giving them away compared to what i paid for them) while my cousin who has a 60gb system doesn’t have to get rid of hers.
Since updating yesterday to 2.52 my 80gb has stopped reading disks. Am i S.O.L. now and have to pay to have it sent in (out of warranty)
I was called over to help set-up my cousin’s new PS3 and they told me that we won’t be able to play any games online because of the obscene language online, but I told them not to fret since that could be adjusted in the Parental Controls settings… Or so one would think, long story short, the kid won’t be going online so that means your online only games (Warhawk, SOCOM:C, etc.) and 3rd party online games are going to be passed by this family (and most likely others) for not including an obvious parental control feature, muting VOIP [mic] chatter.
You might want to fix that in the next firmware, unless you hate money.

my system is 2.52 and cannot find the update 2.53 that was released a few days ago.i have the uk ps3.is this new update just foe us versions.
I have the us version and 2.52 and my system wont find 2.53 either.
Please fix error 80022D11 with the next update. None of my saves in trophy games will load because they think they are made by another user.
