Hi PLAYSTATION 3 community,
I am so very happy to announce that PlayStation Home has now officially entered into Open Beta. Restart your PLAYSTATION 3, and you will see the PlayStation Home icon under the PlayStation Network column of the XMB. Click on the icon, and you are in.
Getting to this point has required a tremendous amount of participation, input, care, and passion from the thousands of beta testers who helped make PlayStation Home what it is today. So to all of you that have tested, from all of us on the PlayStation Home team here at Sony: “Thank You!”
For those of you that are new to PlayStation Home, be sure to plug in a USB keyboard (or pair your Bluetooth headset) and start meeting your fellow PS3 owners. And remember, even with all the spaces, rewards, items, and activities available today, what you see now is just the beginning. Home will grow, change, and evolve very quickly – and it is all based on your feedback.
This is your community, and we are listening.
Yea, can’t log on. get the same error as everyone else, you’d think after more than a year of delay they’d prepare the servers for release day.

Well this blows but oh well back to downloading Demos until home starts i keeped getting that one unity somthing error but then i got through for the agreement thing and i got that unity error again. After all of this Sony better give use free hats or something lol

I downloaded it, but I can’t get passed “Going Online”… does that mean you guys are fixing it?
Actually right now I’m going to go in the kitchen and make dinner for my family in the real world. For everyone obsessed because this isn’t working deal with it until it gets fixed. Go outside smell the grass and the fresh air and realize their is more to life than waiting for Home.

Sony said Home Open Beta would be here on the 11 and the DELIVERED.

Unlike Microsoft who couldn’t even keep their crappy forced to pay for play online service running all of last December…
From Wikipedia:
“Beta testing allows the software to undergo usability testing with users who provide feedback, so that any malfunctions these users find in the software can be reported to the developers and fixed. Beta software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss.”
So provide the feedback and quit moaning.
I love how people who can’t personally get in at the moment are acting like Home isn’t up and running. Self-involved much?
No matter how much testing Sony could have done, there were bound to be problems with as many as 15 million people (probably a lot fewer) trying to log in to a new service at the same time… and then trying again… and then trying again.
IF YOU CAN’T GET IN AT THE MOMENT, TAKE A BREAK AND TRY AGAIN LATER.
It’s probably not a problem with your system; it’s just server overload and spamming the servers with attempts every few seconds WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE.
Well, waited for an hour started a fire, now i am getting:

What is /HUBPS3_SVML? What’s a .jsp file? and what is BD Disc Utility for!?!?!?
Sony should have done a staggered release of HOME instead of a simultaneous worldwide.
As a closed beta tester I have 2 suggestions…
Add a punch button & remove the ability to spawn the bubble machine!!!
Someone needs to change the title of this blog to:

I just downloaded home and I’m getting the “request timed out” message and I’m not able to log in. Most of you sound like a bunch of winey – spoiled brats; chill out, it’s the first day for christ sake. Also, it’s the launch of the open “BETA” – i.e., it’s not the final product – so you shouldn’t expect it to work as such – you’re basically a product tester. Be happy tha Sony even offered an open beta.
I’m sure Sony will get most of the issues sorted out.
It is not working for me.
Home is not letting me sign in or log in.
It get’s all the way to initializing then it says signing in and doesn’t work!
yo all i keeps sayin for me and everyone i know is Request timeout and Connection to the server lost. They really need to fix these bugs because its starting to make home look bad. Jack please fix the problem asap
So this whole time everyone has been telling Sony to start the open beta “we don’t care if there’s problems just let us in” and now that they’ve let the public in all of the sudden lots of people have forgotten that it’s a BETA and are act like Sony has failed and it’s ruined their lives. This is a beta, problems will happen and it is expected. If you have problems send a message through home (if you can get in), here, on the forums or email Sony and let them know whats wrong so they can fix. Don’t complain.

Says “Signing in”, takes ages, brings up error.
Definitely needs a fight mode though. PK servers plz.

anyway, i miss the days of just hitting the [X] button and signing in with ease. can’t wait for those days to return. i was there last december which is what lead to my january PS3 purchase. i won’t be going back! welcome all new comers to home, especially my entire friend list. now about the errors?!

My ass, it doesn’t even sign you in. I am having PROBLEMS with this. All of these stupid errors. XBOX 360 can handle this many people, but Sony cannot? What bull.

why no server
I’m in the eastern coast region as well. Its 6:20 PM and I thought things would have been fixed by now. I can’t connect. Getting a network error with a bunch of letters & numbers. Does the same thing if I click on “Retry”. aWW man…I was waiting for this thing. Ugh! Patience is virtue I guess.
Doesn’t look like it. Anyone I’ve asked in the East Coast cannot get signed in to Home. Give it time I guess.
