Picking up Your Copy of Killzone 2 Soon? Snap a Pic!

The time is almost upon us – in just a few precious hours, North American gamers will begin picking up and playing their copies of Killzone 2. In order to fully mark this occasion (probably the last time you’ll be outside for a few weeks), we encourage you to take a photo of yourself picking up the game. We know a *lot* of you pre-ordered the game, so we’ve started a collection on the PlayStation.Blog Facebook page. Just upload your pic(s) to the gallery and tag them with “kz2” – you’ll need to ‘Fan’ the page first – and let us know you’ve joined the Helghan invasion!

As a bit of extra incentive we’ll be randomly giving out Killzone 2 Strategy Guides from BradyGames (we’ll select the lucky photogs a week from today).

      haha, I was playing with some VGEvo guys. Not sure why the room was private, but I did pretty well. Not Torgo well, but well.

    Yay! Nice to see that Canadians are included! I’ll try and snap a pic to submit (just to prove that old ladies play Killzone too!)

    … oh, and I guess by “old” I just mean old for a gamer… for a person 46 is still considered young! :)

      The average age for gamers, these days, is in the late 30s – so you\’re hardly an anomaly! I *know* I\’ll be playing when I\’m 46.

    Cheeky response Jeff. But you and I both know that you weren’t “holding” the gun in the first image you posted. In fact, it was sitting on a computer rendered table.

    Just confirm or deny that the original image was CGI. That’s all I’m asking. I know it was. You know it was. Just say it.

    holy crap im so stoked for tomorrow, i still have work, so im taking my lunch break to go to gamestop to pick it up, so i cant play it till i get home, but the fact that its in the car waiting for me its all good! man im excited!! but i was wondering, will there be a killzone 2 place in home for game launching and stuff. i saw the war hawk one today and it made me think about killzone 2. thanks man!

    i love this game,its so much fun.
    last night LOL so hard when i poped someone in the head and you seriously can hear there brains smoosh its like you just ran over there head with a car.
    theres so much detail put into this game its amaising.
    cant wait for KZ3

    I’m from LEBANON, got Killzone 2 like 7 days ago, played the campaign already, and now i’m enjoying the online feature. What’s so nice about the online is that it is fair in terms of “kills”, you get the kill depending on how much damage u put on the enemy, and i think this option is fair and awesome to have :D.

    I reserved this game, played the demo, went right back to Gamestop and got my money back. Fighting the controls just for the duration of the demo was enough for me, hopefully Guerilla will eventually quit being such prima donnas about the “immersion” (in quotes because turning like my arms weigh 200 pounds each doesn’t make me feel particularly immersed) and patch the controls, because everything else about the game is amazing.

    i will be getting killzone2 in about 2 hours.i just signed up for facebook. But i can not find the killzone2 page on there.so i guess, i will just be playing the game but that if fine.thank you play station.playstation 3 is the #1 gaming console to date!!

    OMG played KZ2 till 2 am last night and played an hour before work today…The game TRULY lives up to the 4 years of hype…BEST SHOOTER EVER.

    I will NEVER play Halo again.

    I am going to be picking up my copy later on today and will be also purchasing the Strategy Guide. I say anyone who is not getting the Strategy Guide with there purchase should def do this i mean come on it is free!!!! See you all online tonight!!!

    Jeff, disappointing that you decided to lie about the rendering, rather than just be a man and admit the truth. It’s painfully obvious that the original image of the gun was a 3D rendering (with the gun sitting on the little rendered table).

    And of course you’d render out images of a prop gun before it was manufactured. That’s how prototypes are designed…from 3D models.

    You guys really need to get over your “it’s not a rendering” silliness. Didn’t you embarrass yourselves enough with the original Killzone trailer?

    If it’s not a rendering, why so many differences in texture between the recent replica pictures and the original rendering? Why no aliased shadows in the recent images? Why no rendering jaggies? Why no really-fake reflections on the bullet chamber?

    I know I should have dropped this whole subject weeks ago, but man, it just rubs me the wrong way to get lied to. Especially from someone who expects me to buy their products.

    Hope this game is worth the hype and i dont revert back to Socom. I tend to not listen to reviews on most games anymore except sports games that r what they are. with that said i think it is so commercialized that the reviews tend to be more hype than truth. i have played the demo i like it it but online is my breaking factor. Also they have had forever to devlope this game so we will see. and i have no face book either never even visited the site. what is the prize for the picture???? HOLLA FOR A dOLLAR

    I wil send my fiance’ to grab it while I’m working. You said thats cool right? I’ll take the pic as soon as I get home and get the game from her. I just wanna statr plating. I think I will have her get the camera ready to take the pic of me. I have never signed up for facebook nor was I really wanting to sign up but I will do it for you guys. (Keep up the great work with the blog, us gamers really appreciate it a lot.) Who knows maybe I will like it

    This has nothing to do with this article, but I still want to adress it. Why I can’t make a backup of my Killzone 2 savegame. If my PS3 breaks down I will loose all my progress. Motorstorm Pacific Rift had the same issue but it was solved with a patch. Is this possible with Killzone 2? Pardon me for my spelling english is not my native language.

    WOW!!! Thanks for the oportunity! I submitted my Awesome Photo the other day!! So *CROSSES FINGERS* I have to say this is the BEST game i have Ever played in my life! I had been an xbox fan for a long time until about 2 years ago when i had 4 red Ring RIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE!! NO JOKE! and then i decided to try my Luck at the SONY brand! and WOW AM I SOOO GLAD I DID… The PS3 is a remarkeble Peice of machinery! I think you all very much! It brings alot of happiness to my life! I would like to see more games on the PStore. Maybe releasing full games for less money, when you would actually be making 100x more because the Money Hungry Gamestop would not steal all of the money from the game developers! Just a note! But I love the direction the PS3 is going into, and am looking forward to all of the Exclusives you have lined up! NONE of them look like they are going to be dissapointing! So heres to all of you hard workers! *CHEERS*
