  • oh and, can we get a damn party system

  • We select our winners from the Killzone Facebook photo exchange.

    That links doesn’t work?

  • @Link01, do you honestly think that every PS fan out there loves FPS? I for one “don’t!” PS has never been so supportive on FPS as they’ve been on the PS3. PS and PS2 has always been multi genre, with platform, action / adventure, JRPG (Hello???! Can any stupid dev out there here me?) and… FPS. I’m still waiting for the load of games that doesn’t include the term “shooter”.

  • “Killzone Facebook photo exchange”- LINK DOESN’T WORK

  • Where’s the option for “Amazon hasn’t delivered it yet even though I chose 2 day mail.”

  • the 45 percent who didn’t get the game yet should be smacked.

  • Thanks for the info

  • @Onna76_NL – I’m right here with ya brotha. Bring the JRPGs already. Also, kill the PS2 and resolve the issue of PS2 BC on the PS3.

  • As a visual (and visceral) experience, KZ2 is definitely top notch. The deadzone and response-lag in the controls is annoying, but I adapted after about 20 minutes.

The biggest disappointment is the complete lack of any gameplay innovation or next-gen features.

    Missing and sorely missed:

    1. Online co-op
    2. Local splitscreen co-op
    3. Local split-screen multiplayer

There’s a reason why games like Gears and Halo are massively popular at parties, etc…and why Killzone will never reach those heights.

  • I haven’t been able to play Killzone 2 yet, as my package hasn’t arrived yet.

  • Game is no where near as good as everyone is told to believe!

  • This is a great idea, Jeff. Sure, it’s primarily to your (Sony’s) benefit by building anticipation and keeping people curious about upcoming information, but that’s the purpose of the blog anyway. And it is providing a benefit, so it’s a win-win.

  • YAY!!!! You guys listened to me!!!! Remember on the survey it asked for suggestions… Well, I said that polls are nice! lol

I like polls… They make me smile!

  • Why does it have to be sold out :'(, Idk when I’m getting the game, right now it’s snowing and I can’t get out and pick up a copy……………….

  • I want KillZone 2 but have to wait to get it. When I do, I plan on playing non-stop until I beat it.

  • @Jakinov, I’d rather smack you for not respecting other people’s interest.

@LokeSTL, thank you that you agree with me. Most of the time I feel like I’m the only one that bothers about that, and the ones that once did are all gone. I know several people that used to be PS fanboys went to the 360 as at least that one has RPG’s. They’re forgetting one thing… they mostly suck anyway. I stick by with Sony no matter what, and keep nagging about missing the JRPG on the PS3. Considering the amount of PS2 fans that are RPG fans and still do support Sony, I’m positively sure I’m not the only one.

  • I have to agree with some of the earlier posts- there are a number of options missing. I preordered and it’s now shipping to me. Believe me, if I had it I wouldn’t have slept much this weekend. By the way, though I’m fairly certain you won’t respond I have to ask: when is amazon giving out those Home-KZ2 costume codes? That’s the main reason I preordered, and I’d prefer not to be screwed over like I was with LBP.

  • I’m playing through the campaign now and taking my sweet time to enjoy every single glorious second of it, KILLZONE 2 is incredible!!! I’ll be hitting the multiplayer once I’ve conquered Helghan!!! :D

  • @the Retarded troll
Just leave. We don’t need a bot on this site.

AS for the poll. Those 45% of people need to go out and buy this game. You are missing out on one of the best experience you will every experience in gaming.

  • “I haven’t picked up the game yet… (45.0%)”
    WTF!!!
    WHY???
How dare, there is only 350000+ people in the leaderboard?????
SCE should doing sth,BIO5 is coming, not too much time!
BTW,I just pick up two copies.

  • @ number 8, we are waiting for a much better game, FPS’s are old news and boring, might as well be playing a glorified version of DOOM or duke nukem. They were the cutting edge games. Most of us are actually playing Socom these days. I will never buy another GG game so you can count me out.

We gamers want something that is truly going to blow our minds away. that game is hopefully MAG with it’s 128 players per team. That is the game that we are all waiting on.

Massive Action Game is the next Socom….

Killzone 2 is too dark and grey and brown. thats not new or great looking. too dreary for this person.

  • @Onna76_NL
Yeah dude, we need the JRPG’s. White Knight looking amazing, but we don’t have a release date on that for the United States as yet. There was been 2 JRPG’s for the ps3, Eternal Sonata and Folklore, but we need more. The PS3 has been on the market for over 2 years now, and only 2 JRPG’s. MS is paying all those RPG makers in Japan (Square Enix, Namico Bandai, and others) a ton of cash just to keep those games off the PS3 or a set period of time or exclusive. Sony need to start spending some cash to get some RPG for it consumers because Japanese Gamers will buy a lot more PS3 if there is more JRPG’s on them.

  • Nice, Jeff. It’s kinda cool to know a bot about what’s coming. My only question is who we’re going to get to interrogate on Wednesday?

  • i like where this is going Jeff. great idea you got here sir! i’d love to see more of these in the future. i cannot believe that over 40% of the people polled have not picked up this game yet. shame on all you! tisk tisk indeed. KZ2 GOTY!!!

    peace,
    Lh

  • Jeff the blog page is messed up in Firefox 3.0.6 :(

  • the game could be the game of the year BUT how to know? the demo is very VERY limited, and I’m all about online, since I haven’t fully try it, I’m no t buying it…

  • Surprised at all the people who didn’t buy the game. I haven’t (and won’t) because of issues I have with the game, but I just thought everyone on a site like this would have bought it.

  • I picked “I haven’t picked up the game yet…” because I pre-ordered it from Amazon and it hasn’t arrived yet. Can’t wait though.

  • Haven’t got it yet because my parents pay too much attention to the Certificate of it… :(

Hoping to get it after my birthday this week though :)

  • Im getting KZ2 this week !!!!
Yeeeaaaaah !<-Like Randy ‘The Macho Man ‘Savage

  • Why has 40%+ not picked this game up? In my case, lack of money. If someone wants to buy it for me, just let me know, I will gladly start playing!

  • Killzone is an awesome game but one minor change needs to be done with the controls. L2 for cover must be changes to L1. I don’t know about you but my hand cramps using L2 all the time. In my opinion, the L2 button should be used to attack with but of weapon. Other then that, the game is perfect. Great job

  • Got the game at midnight on launch day. This game is amazing. The online is killer. The only thing i didn’t like is your “buddies” in the campaign go all rambo and get injured in the middle of a bunch of bad guys. Other than that, amazing.

  • there was an answer missing from the poll:

I can only enjoy the demo because I’m broke.

The demo was awesome but short, I wanted to fight a boss or something. I’ll purchase the game in the future when I have enough money..

  • @Hater2, lol “dude” :-D You hit the nail right on its tiny little head. MS only understands one language “money”. Although I appreciate and respect Sony for saying: “We don’t buy exclusives”, at times I wish they just did. The whole game business, heck even whole life is based on money.

Plus the nonsense that the PS3 is difficult to develop for I no longer buy that one! If Sega Sammy and even Front are both capable of creating each a remarkable amazing game on the PS3 then why can’t bigger companies do that as well? PS3 may be a challenge but if you don’t have a challenge then you’ll stay lazy and dumb, right? I’ve got the feeling they’re just “lazy” in Japan, absolutely not dumb and trying to find an excuse to create money on the most easy way and everyone agree that the PS3 is not the place to be.

The PS3 absolutely need its RPG’s, especially in Japan. WKC sold 300.000 plus thus far. Nuff said, right? Dark Cloud 3, Valkyrie Profile 3, Kingdom Hearts 3, Suikoden VI, Wild Arms VI, where are thee? Will they be victims of the big dollar pocket or is honor and justice to a fan-base all of the sudden more important? Either way, I’ll stick with the second one.

  • Sorry Jeff I came here to nag about off topic business but I do hope that you and the folks at Sony appreciate my comments.

  • BLAME Sony. Like o wrote earlier in the year Sony will probably botch on the advertising. Also the economy right now does not allow a lot of us to just run out and buy a $60 game the same week it is comes out. What is interesting is that if it was M$ i bet you there would be a major launch and other interesting adverts. Anyway it is a good thing KZ2 is a great game just like LBP just maybe wrong time to bring out or wrong PR team. Too much europe.

  • I preordered the game on Amazon and I am STILL eagerly waiting for it. My only wish that my crappy internet doesn’t die when I actually get it.

On a side note, I really hope that Guerilla fixes the controls because when I was playing the demo I noticed there was something wrong in that I couldn’t aim quickly enough or something. Even when I changed the x-axis thing it was overly responsive and didn’t feel like other FPSs I have played (and not in a good way).

  • Yay for KZ2. In other news, I think you guys should consider releasing the PS1 Resident Evil titles in prep for the RE5 release. It would make a great addition to the lack-luster small collection of existing PS1 titles on the PSN. Heck, Japan and Hong Kong already have plenty of great PS1 games on their servers (including the RE games). Why do we get the boot?

  • I chose that I haven’t picket it up yet… Reason.. Tried the demo and well… It just wasn’t appealing to me… So In a way I think there should be an option for those who will not pick up the game too ;)

It might be an awsome game, but for me… Nope… Sorry folks… ;)

  • Killzone MP is addicting!!!!!!Awesome game. Keep up the good work on the blog. Any possiblity of a iphone app down the road for the blog or a app to access Playstation.com to see your friendslist. Gotta see who is skipping work to play.LOL!!!!!

  • No thanks to Killzone 2. Not my kind of game at all. I’ve been mostly playing Street Fighter IV (single player and local 2 player, the network seems to really be crap at moment), and been playing through Uncharted again just because it’s so darn enjoyable and I’m picking up some trophies I hadn’t yet got. Still playing Burnout Paradise a lot too now I got the Playstation Eye and can give photographic ‘polite gestures’ to other players. Also am starting to learn how to build a level in LittleBigPlanet. I’m not finding it easy to design and construct a fun level but I imagine it’s pretty satisfying to have a level published and people hearting it I suppose.

On PSP I’ve been replaying Dead Head Fred (a game still never heard of by most people it seems), Daxter, God of War – Chains of Olympus, GTA Vice City Stories and finishing The Warriors for what must be the 20th time now (and that’s not including how much I played through it on the PS2).

Hm, KZ2 might not be for me but I seem to have plenty of Playstation stuff I’ve been getting through lately. Great machines.

  • Its simple really.. everyone who has Killzone 2 is busy playing it. Frankly I’m surprised I found the time to post this. Good day sirs :P

  • Killzone 2 will be delivered to my house today!

Unfortunately, UPS doesn’t come by my house until around 6 or 7 pm (we are the last stop of the day).

And its a snow day today.

    /cry

  • I played about 30% of the campaign… stayed up really late on Friday night into Sunday morning…. then got trashed Saturday night… basically laid down and slept the majority of Sunday… Snow storm in my area campus is closed… gotta get back to it tonight after work… I’M EXCITED.
Going back to single player… multiplayer is fun, though… just very complex… gotta get used to it.

  • ^^[oops] into Saturday** morning

  • You know you have like the best job ever Jeff? You do see that don’t you? =)

  • I played the demo and that was more than enough for me. Sure, its graphics did surprise me, they were ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING. But I can’t say the same for the rest of the game. If all the game plays like the demo stage, I’ll definitely get bored real soon. Well, I don’t like FPS, but I decided to give the thing a chance. “Let’s see what the fuss is all about”, I said. Didn’t surprise me at all, except for the technical quality.

And I don’t really think I’m missing something because I won’t buy it. Many of you really need to accept and understand other people’s opinions-.

Whatever, I totally respect all the people who loved the game or are planning to get it soon. I’m not saying Killzone 2 is a bad game; I can’t contradict so many excellent reviews the game has gotten so far. I just didn’t like it. A matter of taste, you know :)

If you like it, that makes it a great game. I hope you have a blast with it :)

  • Why nothing from Resistance 2………….

We gonna see some PS1 games this week? Or will you finally admit that the PSX is a lie, like that damn cake ><

  • best. fps. ever. (so far)
