Hi Everyone,
By now, you’ve heard about the latest PS3 Firmware update (v2.70) that allows you to backup the movies and TV shows you purchase from PlayStation Store to an external storage device, so you can make room on your hard drive and restore the videos any time in the future. Also, the videos you purchase for the PSP can now be transferred to the PS3 for playback.
Here are this week’s updates to the video store. We also wanted to share with you a short clip from Krod Mandoon, a show that debuts on Comedy Central next Thursday, April 9. It will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store the following day.

Will the Video store EVER come to canada?
Not a bad update. Now that I can back this stuff up, I may very well look into it. Though, just in case you guys are not aware as of yet, firmware v2.70 also rendered half of my music library (all AAC) ‘unsupported data.’ Might want to look into that.
CANADA!!!! please, just at least tell us why or a when.
I’m sick and tired of waiting for everything.
A few requests.
1) Can we get the few missing episodes from the Bones seasons 1-3? I’d like to get them but will only buy them if the full seasons are up.
2) Is there any chance we’ll see Road Runner and Taz cartoons hitting the PSN anytime soon? I love how yall have Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Porky Pig..

Looks like another great update, but once again still not in Canada. Anyway I have a question regarding the whole Canada thing. Do you think that when/if the video service comes to Canada it will have all of the videos currently on it? or at least all the movies?
…You know, I’m just throwing this out there, thinking-out-loud if you will, but say Canada became the 51-60 States, then getting all of the things we have wouldn’t be a problem anymore… Just a thought. If you want, I think we’d be open to changing the name to, say, the United States of PlayStation.

Stop whingeing about Canada for God’s sake.
At the very minimum, we should have our very own Playstation Store Content, including a Canadian video/tv content. Later, when the deals are done, we can include other sources.

Grace…for 5 months…once a week I’ve asked if you are looking at the re-download issue. Never have you responded but this week we did get FW 2.7 which addresses SOME of the problem. That is nice. BUT:
Can you please clarify the following:
1. If my PS3 is sent for repair and I receive a different PS3 back will I be able to load my back up copies that were enabled from FW 2.7?
2. If I buy a second PS3 for the house I should (in my opinion) be able to play my purchased content on either machine…is this possible?
Both of the above require that the Video License be attached to my PSN ID and not the MACHINE ID. Has this been done now?
If not than this is only a very minimal start to addressing the REAL issue.

Do you guys remove video content from the store after a certain period? I was looking for Juno the other day & could not find it. I remember that movie being there when the service launched last year.
Damn I really want the Canada to get this …. it’s a pain to always go out and rent a movie at a video store….
Why is text chat censored? and limited to 3 words.
This censorship crap is getting annoying. No children can buy the damn content, yet all of us adults are treated as such.
Maybe sony should stop selling rated R movies and only house G.
The text chat is so laughable, and it makes absolutely no sense that no one has even MENTIONED voice chat.
Im not buying anymore sony garbage and i’ve spent well over 400 dollars on PSN until some of this is addressed.

hmmmmmmmmmm. its a start…… psn is getting better but this is really a minor update.
I’m not the sort of person to pay for downloads of television programs that are still in syndication or available on DVD or BluRay, but I’d reconsider if maybe Sony offered some rare television… lost gems of American television, maybe some international stuff — Japan has crazy stuff on television that Americans never get to see, sadly. I know I’d consider dropping some money on some Japanese game show footage… those folks bear the torch that fizzled out in the West oh so long ago.

Keep good content coming Sony. With the new backup feature from FW2.70 the store just got very practical. I just want to see some price adjustments with some older titles because I see some DVD prices falling below the PSN price, but for day-and-date release pricing, this isn’t an issue. Keep the great features coming!

You’re a moron. The PS3 has been on the market for several years, and people have been requesting these features for nearly as long. If the Sony development team can’t add something as basic as voice communication over a period of 24 months, then they need to find new jobs.
I’ve participated on teams that have built projects that are 100 times more complicated than the PS3 O/S and in much shorter timeframes.
Sony just focuses on idiotic ideas that they think people will like, rather than listening to their customers.
I’ve been waiting, hoping, and praying that you guys put up the movie GLORY with Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. It hasn’t happened yet so I decided to post about it…hope this works, the movie is a CLASSIC!
