LittleBigPlanet Content For April
It’s that time again! Here’s the scheduled release dates for additional LittleBigPlanet content for the rest of this month and the start of May.
Those of you who keep an eye on these updates will notice that the Heavenly Sword mini-pack has moved back by two weeks, but in its place is the extremely cool Rag Doll Kung Fu costume pack, which now launches on the same day that the game comes to the PlayStation Store.
The big news for April however is that the 1.12 “Cornish Yarg” update is being released, which provides some new features along with some fixes to problems reported by the community. Also included in this update is Creator Pack 1 that contains some very cool new devices, gizmos and tools to help you build your levels. Should the date for the release of the Cornish Yarg update change, we’ll inform you ahead of time, but right now it’s looking good to go for April 16th!
April 9th : Rag Doll Kung Fu Costumes : $5.99
To coincide with the release of Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic on the PlayStation Store, we’ve put together some great costumes and themed stickers. Contains:
- Hero costume: Hero hair, jacket, trousers, skin
- Master Hip costume: Master Hip trousers, shirt, hair, skin
- Master Sin costume: Master Sin hat, jacket, nails, trousers
- Master Tang costume: Master Tang hat, moustache, jacket, fish, trousers, skin
- Sung Ling costume: Sung Ling hair, top, trousers, skin
- 36 Rag Doll Kung Fu theme stickers
April 9th: Patapon Costume (Europe) : $1.99
Patapon 2 has hit the streets so it’s high time that Sackboy took up the challenge with this costume including a selection of weapon options. Contains:
- Patapon costume: Patapon skin and head-dress, Patapon Axe, Patapon Bow, Patapon Sword
April 16th: Monkey King Costume: FREE
The costume competition winning design from Asia – the Monkey King. Contains:
- Monkey King costume: Monkey King Crown, clothes, tail, staff, skin
April 16th (provisional): 1.12 “Cornish Yarg” update: FREE
This update addresses several outstanding issues with the game:
- There is a new music player which lets players choose their own music from the XMB to play during create mode and in their Pod
- Improved decoration mode makes it easier to customise your Sackboy
- Option to delete all (unhearted) community objects and photos
- Option to select whether to automatically collect community prizes and photos
- A number of improvements have been made to make profiles more robust and to recover from certain errors
- We now support Japanese and Korean IME for text chat.
- Emitter prediction has been improved (this should help fast-moving projectiles e.g. in MGS levels)
- The player proximity switch now has a ‘require all’ option in it
- An option has been added to cycle between various level information when viewing community levels on the earth
- Various LittleBigStore improvements
April 23rd (provisional): Creator Pack 1: FREE
A collection of new tools and functions to help aspiring creators:
- Infinite lives checkpoint
- Visibility tweak option on certain joint objects (to hide these in Play mode)
- Global settings object (to trigger lighting changes)
- Tetherless jetpack
- Angle range proximity switch (additional functionality on proximity and magnetic key switches)
April 23rd : Heavenly Sword Mini-Pack: $2.99
Contains:
- Nariko costume : Nariko sword, wig, dress
- Kai costume : Kai hat and hair, dress, gloves, boots, skin
- 27 Heavenly Sword theme stickers
April 30th : Egyptian Mythology Mini-Pack: $1.99 $2.99
Inspired by Egyptian mythology this pack has costumes for Anubis and Sekhmet along with 10 theme stickers to help you add some Egyptian flavour to your levels. Contains:
- Anubis costume: Anubis mask, Anubis robes
- Sekhmet costume: Sekhmet mask, Sekhmet robes
- 10 Egyptian theme stickers
May 7th : Norse Mythology Mini-Pack: $1.99 $2.99
Continuing our mythological theme this pack contains Thor and Valkyrie costumes and Norse themed stickers.
- Thor costume: Thor’s helmet, beard, belt and wristguards, legs, Thor’s Hammer
- Valkyrie costume: Valkyrie helmet and braids, Valkyrie jerkin and cape, Valkyrie boots

* New Material
Metallic Fabric (Durable grab material not damaged by bombs) Ever tried making grab switches that don’t break when hit with bombs? I currently use Egg Sushi because of this issue.
* New Hazards
1. Invisible (Material or object is invisible in play mode but glows in create mode)
2. Freeze (Direct contact will slow and eventually freeze sack person)
3. Mud (Causes material to be partially solid, effect like quicksand)
* New Switches
1. Impact Switch. (Switch activates by impact or a slap like the MGS paintball switches but any impact effects output.)
2. Coupler (Allows multiple switches up to 10 inputs to connect to it. Can be set to require single on, all on, all off. Has output options such as ON/OFF, Direction, 1 shot and mimic. Unconnected inputs are ignored. On Mimic mode input switches cause the output to be the same. This way multiple directional 3 way directional switches can control the same object.
3. Speedometer Switch (Switches on or off when movement reaches a determined speed.) Can be used for stabilizers etc. Has one input and one output.
* Piston / Wench / Wobble bolt (Upgrade)
Center (Allows for device to auto center to this position if turned off)

* Create Mode Editing (Upgrade)
1. Visible position coordinates. X,Y,Z angle and width on screen.
2. Ability to select layer to attach devices, switches or stickers using R buttons just like placing materials while rendering other layers invisible. (Ever tried editing something that’s behind another object? If it was invisible from this toggle the front object would be ignored allowing access to items behind it or in that thickness only.) The ability to toggle could still exist.
If you select something in the background like a switch attachment you could still toggle to another layer and attach it without interference from other layers.
3. Proximity adjustment needs visible number range. Ever tried tweaking the magnetic switch or player range by 0.1? You can only adjust the proximity visual range without number values.

I particularly enjoy the $1.99 crossed out and replaced with $2.99.
Now THAT’S a deal I find hard to pass up. Hell, I think I’ll hold out…and maybe it’ll go up to $3.99.
It all feels like the sweet sting of a well placed slap delivered by a girl who loved me once but doesn’t love me anymore.
With these ridiculous prices, “Sack it to me” is dead on the money.
i do find the prices a little high for just stickers and costumes, additional level packs would be very enjoyable by the majority of consumers it seems…..I wonder how much their gonna charge us for the next level pack? im gonna guess more then the MGS one cost
I LOVE THE SUPPORT FOR LBP!!! IT IS AWSOME SO MUCH DLC ITS INSANE, I LOVE IT! I ALSO LOVE THE FACT OF MM NOT MAKING A SECOND GAME AND ONLY DOING ADD ON EXPATIONS AND UPDATES!! LOVE THAT!!!!
There isn’t really a good place for me to put this… but here’s a pre-emptive “I won’t be purchasing any of this, or anything else, until you start uploading more PSX games to the PSN.”

You can debate pricing game-based DLC a dollar higher. but the Egyptian and Norse packs aren’t. If they were 1.99, they would be a definite buy. But 2.99? I just don’t know.
I know alot of people complain about the prices but i think they are just fine and I will pay the money for what i want, its not supposed to be so cheap that u can afford everything then everyone would have it online and it would be no fun because everyone would have the same outfits so i think they are good prices.
Will there be an LBP home space, with game lauching? I need to get people to finish all the levels particularly the 3x and 4x sections. Home seems like a good place to meet people to do this.
wow this is great! :) I’m still waiting for my Sephiroth costume however. I’m not gonna buy most of the costumes, probably only the monkey king cause it looks surprisingly awesome ;) Keep up the DLC

The updates are nice. I really like the infinite lives checkpoints–hopefully creators will implement them into future levels. That’d be cool.

cant believe people are payin that much for costumes! it sounds crazy to me. the prices keep goin up. these guys must be makin tons of cash, if loads of ppl are buyin costumes.

How about the ability to make artwork based off of JPG files off of the HDD? I like the stuff you guys make, but the camera as an input source just does not cut it – especially after you guys said HDD import would be a possibility in the past. We’re going on 6 months now, guys…

I can say with confidence that they are not considering Pokemon pack. It’s a Nintendo exclusive. This is a Sony exclusive. Do the math.
Hopefully we’ll get a new set of music to use in create mode soon.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally i can get Nariko.
When are they going to allow an object’s color to be changed / customized? You should be able to select something like the suit costume’s jacket then select “color” and use the analog stick to select the color you want. Also Red, Green, Blue or CMYK values should be allowed to be entered. This will help in making characters like the joker whose suit is dark purple.
