Most Collectors Editions really aren’t worth dishing out the money for but the following i think would make a worthy Collectors Edition.
God of War 1,2 & 3 on Blu-Ray Disc
A cool Kratos Action Figure with detachable weapons
And the GOW III OST on CD or (Maybe a special compilation of the best music from GOW 1,2 & 3 and the PSP Game arranged in order and detailed on a CD).
And a cool God of War III vinyl? PS3 Faceplate (maybe holographic like on a visa card) that you can stick on and peel off that just covers the front of the PS3 (a proper one) not stickers lol.
And Please make it available Worldwide because some of us get left out on these sorts of things (especially us kiwis).
I played GOW on PSP. Havent got a PS2 or 1 but i cant wait to play GOW3. I would never buy a collectors edition of the game but..i am very interested in buying GOW1 and GOW2 for PS3. Actually they should be released before the release of GOW3. I am ready:)

As far as Tshirts, it’s a bad idea unless you can provide different sizes… I’m tired of getting shirts that are 3x bigger than me!

GoW 1 and 2 on Blu-ray would be sweet. I loved the previous GoW games but never owned my own copy of them and that would be a great opportunity to get them, even if the price of the collector’s edition is increased by a decent amount.

The idea of having GoW and GoWII on a Blu-Ray disc is bloody brilliant…
…why not put a port of GoW:COO on their as well? That way the CE would be a complete package and detail the entire GoW series storyline.
Those things and a kick ass t-shirt and I’d buy it no matter what the cost.
GoW & GoW2 in full 1080p would be the shiz. Throw in some trophies and you’ve got mass purchase!

cool idea and I love GOW.. But come on the are better way’s of giving gamers a job to do like pay us. Or give us free games.. Why am I paying $60 a game or $80 Collector’s Edition and no one at at SCEA can think of something to put in it??? seems weird to me…
Upon further refelection, GoW I and II ARE AN ABSOLUTE MUST for this to be a successful game.
Ps3 is no longer backwards compatible, meaning people who own Ps3’s that haven’t played the previous 2 games will be left out in the cold. In order to make this game accessible to the new and old fan alike, the old games must ABSOLUTELY come with the CE version (if not in the standard version as well).
There is one easy fix to this problem: bring back backwards compatibility, because removing that was the dumbest thing Sony has ever done in their history as a company.
im really looking forward to the figurine but really any of those things will do, i cant wait!!
KEN CHAN, my suggestions which will illustrate the Blu-ray Advantage over dvd:-
* THE original GoW games with TROPHIES.
They are masterpieces and trophies would entice people new to the series to play them.
* A top quality Documentary.
Not just a few vox pops, but an in-depth 1-hour feature that looks at the full development process. GoW is a great franchise, lets show it some respect with the best video game documentary ever.
* Soundtrack.
Put it on the Blu-ray and allow us to copy it to the PlayStation 3 so we don’t have to have the game in to hear it.
* I’d quite like a God of War comic if it fits in the blu-ray case, or why not get DC/Marvel to write a mini-series for you!
* NO free toys
I like to keep my games together on a shelf. An oversized box would mean it would have to be hidden out of public view.
I live in the UK and we want the CE too! But toys make it unlikely that a collector’s edition will be available abroad due to costs. The Resistance 2 CE was not available here for this very reason.

We are really looking forward to this release and are unanimously in support of a remastered GOW & GOW2 on Blu Ray for the PS3. We look forward to your future surveys. Thanks for the wallpaper. I took the survey. The only thing I want in the list is the soundtrack. I always wanted a GoW soundtrack!
Anyway, I have all the GoW games, so I don’t care about a blu-ray compilation. Also, I don’t want a shirt or a keychain, I’ll never use it.
I forgot to say that I want the CE. But like everyone with the first two games, I won’t buy it if it’s the bonus. I don’t think it’s a good idea.
A lot of people seems to want this bonus. But keep in mind they won’t remake the games. They won’t put trophy. There’s 99.99% chances that it will only be a copy/paste, and IF you’re lucky, they’ll upscale the game to 1080p.

I am totally 100% for God of War 1 & 2 HD on bluray. That would be THE ultimate reason itself to buy the collector’s edition.
For my part, i have never bought any collector’s edition of any game, and i have over 50 games in my PS3 home library. There is simply no solid reason from a gamer perspective to spend more on the same game only to acquire some figurines or developer comments or fancy paper stuff. My point is, we buy games for the playing enjoyment and not for the fancy game cover or manual! :D So, if the collector’s edition has something extra that we can actually PLAY, then definitely count my pre-order in, that is, if the ultimate collector’s edition has God of War 1 & 2 playable in HD. I also have God of War 1 & 2 on PS2, but playing these stellar games all over in HD, would undoubtedly be an incredible and ultimate experience on the PS3!
If that ever comes true, that would be the best collector’s edition EVER! Just one word – WOW!

I’ve never bought a collector’s edition for a game seeing how you spend an extra 10-20 bucks and get (maybe) a nicer case and a behind the scenes dvd of stuff you can mostly watch online. I’m hoping you guys package God of War 1 & 2 with a collector’s edition and it would be the first one I buy. I have a launch unit ps3 that can play ps2 games. I’d buy it not only because it would be nice to have them in a boxset like the spider-man trilogy, but also because NONE of my friends can play ps2 games on their ps3’s and they’ve missed out on the awesomeness that is God of War. I didn’t get an e-mail for a survey, but you certainly have my vote for God of War 1 & 2 in a collector’s package.
I want to Blu-ray Editions of God of War 1 and 2 so those of us who have not had the chance to play them and are without a backwards compatible system may be able to fully enjoy the franchise. ^^

But.. we need BC in our PS3’s.. I have it in my 60Gb Model but there is a lot of people with a PS2 that can’t play their games with PS3.

great but here are some suggestions:
1: GOD of WAR III poster (its gotta be huge and bada**)
2:exclusive home content/ LBP LEVELS.
3. exclusive challenge rooms
and for all copies of GOWIII:
1:custom tracks AFTER you beat it once (so we don’t lose the cinematic feel of the game first time through.
2:extreme marketing campaign (go all out)
3:An amazing first level (gotta top all three predecessors by 100)

Awesome blog post, guys. I’m so sick of these collectors editions full of junk. I absolutely echo the call for GOW 1 & 2 on blu-ray or perhaps as a digital download?!
I would put keychains firmly in the classification of “junk”, while some dlc would be fine. We know that it is very likely that GOW III will have DLC, so why not give the collectors edition either first access, or else a voucher to redeem for the first Paid DLC when it debuts weeks/months after game launch. It’s irritating when developers/publishers routinely nickel & dime with dlc shortly after launch, but mysteriously do not include their $5 DLC in the collectors edition (Hello Capcom!). If your collectors edition is supposed to cater to your hardcore fanboy, then one supposes they would want your optional DLC.
I would also love to see some PS3 themes as either unlocklables across all versions of the game, or else as out of the box exclusives to the collectors edition.
To me the best possible addition would be a compilation of all of the movies from GOWI and II. Tied together with the main in game GOWIII cinematic scenes. That way we will have a perfect cinematic summary of Kratos’ entire story from beginning to end. Possibly even adding some brand new footage to the GOWI and II parts, or even some well rendered COO scenes to enhance the experience would be amazing!
To me that CE would be worth a lot of money. Can’t see anyone preferring a t-shirt over that.
