  • I was hoping for a 2.99 or anything below 5.99. You could buy a cheap game with 5.99 like Astro Tripper.

  • Day 1 purchase for me!!!

Also Jeff, I send Chris like 3 messages on Facebook about the Fat Princess Code like you suggested, but he has yet to get back to me… Tell him to go check his Facebook ASAP!!!!!!

  • pretty expensive, I don’t have the game yet, but when there were rumors that this DLC was going to be free I wanted to buy it on the weekend, but now pay another $6 to fully enjoy the online portion? no thanks, I’ll wait till I finish the rest of my games to buy KZ2, but at this price I won’t buy the map pack.

Oh and trophies? I don’t care.

$3 or $4 would be the right price.

  • I’ll ask again:

What’s the Euro price for this DLC? If you don’t know please say so. Otherwise I’ll keep asking forever :P

  • Disappointed… 2 maps for 6 bucks? That’s 3 dollar a map. The most expensive map DLC released so far if I’m not mistaken. Even COD4 gives you around 4 maps for 10$ (which I think is way overpriced).

  • All you stupid complainers make me ashamed to support only the Playstation. I’d rather go play Xbox LIVE with 13 years olds than listen to all of your childish complaints about $6 DLC dollars that the development team had to take time to create.

  • It’s $6, THE PRICE OF ONE PACKET OF CIGARETTES. I cannot believe how ridiculously cheap some people are. Quit complaining, wake up and relise that THIS IS A SMALL, SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY, buy it, or don’t buy it. But please, give this “too expensive” crap a rest.

  • Poor price point. Make it $3 or less, and I think a lot more people would bite.

  • Again, I repeat: It’s $6, THE PRICE OF ONE PACKET OF CIGARETTES. I cannot believe how ridiculously cheap some people are. Quit complaining, wake up and realise that THIS IS A SMALL, SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY, buy it, or don’t buy it. But please, give this “too expensive” crap a rest.

  • I’m not opposed to paying for new content. But this pack is too small to justify screwing with the community.

Because of this pack, it’ll be that much harder to get my friends playing Killzone online together if we don’t all have the same content. All over a $6 pack.

I’d much rather see a pack for $10-$20 with more significant new content.

  • I would like to Thank all the DUMB people who said they would pay $5.99 when they announced the 2 maps. This never should of been more then $2.99 or $3.99. KZ2 mp has lost a lot of its #’s online because the game is just so BASIC.

Why do you think they took so long to list the Price. They looked at the PSN posts, Surveys, and other stuff etc…

This is another example of the Vicious Cycle from the World crap Economy. Thanks Sony for spreading the Gap even more.

  • These levels like quite fun!

  • I think it’s a bit expensive.. and try to sell us by small trophies. I’ll buy, sure I love Kz2, but I don’t think this is the way to go.

I may buy once, maybe twice… but then I’ll pass… sorry.

  • Yet again: It’s $6, THE PRICE OF ONE PACKET OF CIGARETTES. I cannot believe how ridiculously cheap some people are. Quit complaining, wake up and relise that THIS IS A SMALL, SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY, buy it, or don’t buy it. But please, give this “too expensive” crap a rest.

  • People want everything for free.

  • Funny that people that think that this DLC is overpriced are voicing their opinions and even reasoning their thought in a mature way, while the people that agree with the price are the ones trowing insults and telling us to stop posting our thoughts “just because”. A little insecure aren’t we? :D

  • Lol all DLC should be free, sometimes people make me wonder. Thanks for the new maps, I’ll try to make the most out of them. From the time people started to cry down criterion for their prices I knew the public can never be pleased

  • $5.99 sounds expensive but you can share your PSN downloads with up to 4 other people.. but yeah, if you don’t have friends with PS3s, this map pack is overpriced..

  • I was hoping for something along $3.99, oh well.

I already fear the day you announce the SOCOM DLC, 5 maps + weapons + faction(s) = $14.99+ with this type of pricing. If it’s north of $10, expect a riot on the SOCOM forums.

  • Sorry but this is too much money for 2 maps. $2.99 or even $4.99 would have been respectable, but this is just continuing the recent trend of stuff on the PlayStation Store being too damn expensive. (Watchmen, Wheel of Fortune, Flock, PixelJunk Eden Encore, etc.)

I don’t like the trend I’m seeing and I fear for what games that would have been $10 last year are going to cost next year. Shame on you.

  • Yes! Two ossim maps for $5.99. sounds very good. thank you.

  • @44

I’m not missing anything if your point is that they used in game assets.

What do you expect them to do create a map pack called Steal and Titanium and style it after Fat Princess?

Train level alone is difficult enough to do and to keep frame rate up. The entire environment has one thing or another moving in real time, that in itself is 4 dollars well spent. Then the Cruiser level still a nice change of pace none the less settling that last 2 dollars.

You’re just nit picking and I would hope you’d have something better to do with your time then cry over a texture being recycled. These maps are nice and a welcomed addition to the collection of great maps we have already.

  • Man people whine a lot. If you look at map packs in general for both consoles, it tends to be three maps for 10 bucks. which 2 for six is actually cheaper if you break it down on a map by map basis.

People need to quit the crying. If you dont want to spend the money, then dont. Its that easy.

This I will buy day 1!

  • @116 The points your arguing are are pretty lame to be honest. Its additional content, take it or leave it. What annoys me is the fact that the people complaining about paying are mostly children who simply cannot buy it because they have no job/ credit card or whatever. That has nothing to do with whether or not it is justifiable to charge for DLC. Money makes the world go round, and regardless of what anyone says, an optional $6 is not a lot to ask for what looks like two fun and well crafted multiplayer maps. Amazingly, game developers REQUIRE MONEY TO CONTINUE CREATING GAMES AND DLC. Just try to wrap your brain around that, and stop complaining.

  • who buy this over price map is s2pid…
we already pay for the original game + un modded PS3…

  • Pick up the pack and join me! psn id=enewtabie

Can’t wait for the Retro pack now. Seems Tempy on Gaf likes it.

Really folks, 5.99 is a small price to pay for continued melon popping.

  • 5.99 is a great price. The people that are complaining obviously think that the world is made out of free resources. Nothing on this planet is free something has to give. You have to give credit to the designers of the maps who worked hard to bringing new maps with interesting features, hence a price tag. If you complain you obviously haven’t found the meaning of “free”.

  • @ stack0487:

You go ahead and defend Sony for raising the price on all of thier content across the PlayStation Store, tell us how IT’S SUCH A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY.

Then two years from now when a small downloadable game comes out that would have unquestionably been $10 is now $20 or $25, you can take solice in the fact that you helped create this cluster****.

  • @111
I’m sorry you feel that this expensive, I didn’t know 6 dollars was so hard to come by.

As far as Online on KZ2 is concerned do you have a source for your information?

I frequent KZ2 every week and I’m still shooting for that top 1% for my last trophy. From what I can tell each week is that the number of players increases from one week to the next. The existing player base is become more and more difficult as they learn how to use the jobs effectively.

I personally find nothing about KZ2’s multiplayer simplistic once you start acquiring new jobs and learning how to setup maps with your own restrictions.

KZ2 plays online as well if not better than MP FPS out there. That’s including Resistance 2 and Halo, it offers a dynamic with the jobs that can make or break you during a match.

  • 2 maps for $6? No thanks. Maybe if it was 3 maps for $5 then it would actually be worth it. It looks like I will be staying away from this game even longer now (which isn’t that bad since I’m back into MGO after hearing about these overpriced maps).

So in a way I guess it’s a good thing since it turned me back onto a game that I can play for hours.

  • or you can buy Watchmen for $19.99

  • @Killzone 2 devs for further clarification

Thanks for reply. I meant I have the chinese version of Killzone 2, will it be compatible with my US PS Store Map pack? As I have access to the US store only.

    Thanks again

  • @41
I am interseted in the Train map as well, I just hope it doesn’t end up like the Bog in COD4. Fun map if not for the background.

  • love this game so much will so be buying this

  • Will all the complainers please just shut up! I seriously can’t believe you are all complaining about this. I think $5.99 is a great price IMO. We get 2 new maps and more trophies. Look at COD4 they paid $10 for there map pack and no one complained. And we get a new patch tomorrow! I just hope they fix the death lag because it kind of makes the online unfair.

  • $6.00 for 2 Killzone 2 maps is not bad. Killzone 2 costed a lot of money to develop. You get what you pay for, just like in real-life. If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it.

  • @132 acimianboy

No its not region free. You have to have the same region copy of the game as the DLC in order for it to work. I seen too many people complain about it with Little Big Planet. So that means you have to buy from the chinese store and not the NA store for your DLC for KZ2.

  • yes finally, now all we need is a party system and vehicles involved. Imagine an online match of 8 players with the mech suit… wow the possibilities would be endless.

  • SONY knows this is gonna sell like hotcakes and they’re trying to make a profit. i get it.
i do hope those maps are worth it. i’ll be getting em

  • @Moosehead. I see what you are saying, and I hope that doesnt happen. And I do realise that Sony would take advantage if everyone was willing to pay a little bit more each time. But these maps were redesigned completely for multiplayer, presumably by actual people who need money to live and do their job, and to be honest I think they merit a price tag. The constant flow of “2 maps for $6? No thanks!” posts are ridiculous when you consider the amount of money we are talking about here. $2, $3, $4, $6. They are all SMALL AMOUNTS OF MONEY.

  • I gotta have some sympathy for GG here, as a lot of people don’t realize that making a game is extremely difficult and time consuming and assume that they can do whatever they want and that it’s easy.

Well, that’s wrong, and everyone that thinks the 2 maps are the maps out of SP are rather idiotic. Just because you have a map based in the same place as a single player place, doesn’t mean it’s the same map.

It’s like if a Call of Duty game had a SP map based in Italy, and then released a MP map for DLC on the other side of Italy, and people called it the same place. It doesn’t work.

Keep up the good work Guerrilla!

  • @122 yep, you missed my point, I never said anything about the maps names, what are you talking about?
I still think the maps are overpriced, sorry to disagree with you, but this is my opinion and the one of many others, you don’t have to feel threatened or feel attacked.
@124 Really< that’s funny because I thought it was the other way around and the people who is not complaining about the prices are the kids that are gonna ask mommy for the 6 bucks :D
I never said this content should be free, I said this content is overpriced which is different and and cited other companies with better DLC models.
This world we live in, we all have opinions, I disagree yours, like I said, don’t feel threatened or attacked because of that, I have every right to disagree with this piece of overpriced DLC, that’s what this blog is about, no need for insults or name calling.

  • what gets me is, you’ll shell out $399 for a ps3, $60 for a game, $40 a month for internet…but you’ll complain about $6 for extra content, seems petty to me, don’t you think?

  • I don’t see what all the fuss is about…$5.99 is a steal in my opinion…I love KZ2 and think that the price of a value meal is more than worth the amount of fun I will have on these maps. Day 1 download for sure!

  • WTF!!!! I have never seen more whiners in my life!!! waaaaaa $6 waaaa! My heck, do any of you work? wouldn’t you much rather spend $6 on two incredible KZ2 maps than an entree meal at some mediocre restaraunt? well maybe none of you eat out either? Geeze, hate to be you guys!!

  • You guys are greedy! I’ll pass. This is ridiculous.

  • nope, not getting it.

  • I appreciate the additional content, and the levels do look cool, but I also feel that $5.99 is too much to ask for a map pack containing 2 additional maps.

A price of $3.99 would be much more reasonable and would get my support.

Plus, am I the only one who feels the additional trophies are very “blah?”

  • @143 read my previous posts, it’s about paying what you feel is right or worthy for what you’re getting. I’ll be glad to pay even 20$ for a DLC worthy of that.

  • Too bad KZ doesn’t have the option to play as 3rd person shooter. I like to see my character, gets pretty much the same like COD. A little Gears 3rd person action would do the trick just right!
