  • Can’t wait :)

  • omg thank you thank you,
now please tell me they have plans for a EU release….

  • Sweet!

  • As an RPG fan, the lack of great RPG’s on the PS3 (well, pretty much this whole generation of systems) disturbs me.

I have high hopes for WKC!!

  • Wish my speakers were working to hear what is being said.

  • Beyond!

Jeff, any chance of posting SingStore updates on the blog?

  • Day 1.
Also SONY bring Tetsuya Nomura to E3 :)

  • @jeff

Thanks for the all the info and cant wait for this game but i got a question, do you have any info regarding tales of vesperia for ps3 coming to NA?
    thanks

    • I was just talking to Namco Bandai about that this week. No news at this time, but I\’ll keep pushing them :-)

  • Inaba! Awesome.

Don’t forget, we want Japanese Voice in the game. ;)

  • Cannot WAIT for E3 this year!

  • Day 1 buy

  • Good questions. Tsubasa seemed a bit nervous.

    Release date time-frame?

    • Not nervous, it was just that he had done probably 15 interviews already that day.

    • Thanks Jeff

      and yes… spot on…
by the time we were doing this interview, I was starting to get worried about my voice cracking :-)

  • @Destiny89

It’s coming to NA. Heard about it on IGN

  • Very much looking forward to seeing this in action! Demo will probably tell me if it is a buy or not, but can’t go wrong with a PS RPG game!

  • I can’t wait for this game it is so going to be great. Level 5 makes really awesome games so I am really looking forward to White Knight.

I hope after this may be L5 will make Dark Cloud 3. Plus in the past Mr. Hino has said he still wants to bring out True Fantasy Live Online. Is there any chance for the game to come out on the PS3.

Also WK will all the trophies be for offline mode or will there be some for online.

I hope they will just be for offline. Not really a big fan of online games. But if TFLO ever comes out I will get into them.

  • I’m really looking forward to this game, I love RPGs and I became a big fan of Level 5 after the Dark Cloud series & Jeanne D’arc, Can we get it now please? XD

    • Thanks for remembering Dark Cloud.

I actually worked on this one too.
Back then I was based in Tokyo.
      Good times, for sure!

  • Can’t wait dude! My bro and I LOVED Rogue Galaxy–Level 5 FTW!

  • Looks awesome, can’t wait for some actual RPG’s on the PS3

  • Level 5 rocks. Very excited for this one!

  • Level 5! We need a release date!

  • Thanks Jeff and Tsubasa Inaba for the awesome interview, i can’t wait for release..I love the fact that you will be able to see your different weapons.

    Q. Will we be able to see our armor as well??

    Q. Will there be any crafting/potion/armor/weapons/etc/etc????

  • @Jeff

I look forward to adding WKC to my game collection.
I have an off topic question though. With all the games that are being announced are there any PS3 games for younger ones coming out?
My daughter saw the EyePet video last year and got real excited over it. Is it still in the works? Or even another Crash Bandicoot game?

  • I’ll gamefly it.

  • @ Jeff Rubenstein // Social Media Manager

Great interview questions picked there Jeff! I know they were ours, but still you picked some that just really nailed the things that we are looking for in any upcoming title.

    Nice job!

  • finally a rpg game thats worth playing on the ps3 lol. is it coming out for a 2009 release? or 2010?. hopefully white knight chron. puts ps3 back on the title of king of games just like ps2 was and shows that rpg is best on ps3 =D

  • Woah. He never thought of including the Japanese voices as an option?!
Come on! That should always be the 1st thing any localization producer puts on his ‘to do’ list.
    Make it happen, Inaba!

  • What’s the ETA on this game, Jeff?

  • Does the game have New Game+ that boost up the difficulty dramatically To balance out the whole weapon online bringing it back to SP ;o

  • +++
Please let it have dedicated servers!

  • Can’t wait until this game is released!! Couldn’t care less about online features in an RPG, and I hope the online production of this game doesn’t hold up it’s release.

**Any chance we could get this localized and released, then patch the online portion later??**

  • oooo dims fighten words. Now I have to get the platinum trophy on this game lol.

Thanks Jeff for throwing out the JP Language track request to Inaba. Hopefully he’ll listen, usually sony does an excellent job with localization, but sometimes you just have to have that Japanese Language Track. Thanks again ^^.

  • Need release date and voice chat. Then Day 1!

  • I didn’t know it had co-op.

    It’s pretty much a must-buy now.

    Thanks Jeff.

  • Great interview Jeff, it gave me allot of insight into the game I didn’t have, very nice!!! :D

  • What are they talking about? because there are no subtitles on this video. im interesting in WKC.

  • Thank you for making the request for Japanese voice acting.

  • US producer? I though that was Kyle Schubel fro Japanese titles….

    Nevermind.

  • About time:) Please give us a summer release date!! :)

  • Japanese voice and subtitles PLZ!!!
Rpg fan love Japan, yu can make many language on Blu Ray!
I dont buy it if i dont choice, i hate double!

  • YES!!!! This game is going to be awesome, even if the story is so-so. High budget JRPG with western-rpg style character creation. Such a great idea — here’s to success and many more games like it!

And please, please have the japanese voices! (Many prefer it, it adds to replayability, and its always good just in case people hate the english VAs.)

  • Thanks for the great interview, by the way. Very clear and to the point.

  • Aww… The one question I really WOULD like answered and it’s not there… Release date…

I want to let the creators of this game know that they’re going to have to apologize a number of other studios because I know that I at the very least am bumping the nearest title to this game’s release off of my ‘must buy’ list. Hurrary for RPGs! :)

  • Awesome both of my questions have been answered! Thanks.

  • Another vote for including Japanese voice. Would be a waste of hard work otherwise and having it as an option is never bad.

    @21
Yes, you’ll be able to see armor and accesories on your character. In fact you can make all your characters wearing the same equipment, if you want to. Also you can see the equipment changes of the “knight”s.

  • Thanks for the vid. Another vote for Japanese voice! Even better if there are even subtitles outside of cutscenes (most games with a Japanese voice track leave this out.)

  • Day 1 Buy!

    Release Date? Time Frame? Anything!

  • This sounds very good!

A lot of questions answered. but I have one which might be considered more of a noob question but I havn’t heard it before.

What is “action-turn based combat” I can understand that it isn’t that you stand there, hit a button, and everything happens by itself (a la Final Fantasy) But is “action turn-based combat” like Kingdom hearts 1 and 2? Thank you.

  • Weapon A + Weapon B = Weapon C!! Loved that in Rogue Galaxy. Glad they carried it on!

  • Played and Finished the Japanese version of Shirokishi – White Knight Chrnonicles…

The game is way too damn short, visual, story, battle is really nice, but again… the story is WAAAY TOO DAMN SHORT… too much power put into graphics and it didn’t deliver the full story… TBH I HATED how the game ended… reminded me of Arc The Lad. and Arc felt longer…

Game doesn’t require ANY leveling up, you just play through the story and while you’re playing you end up meeting the mobs anyways and those give you enough EXP needed for finishing the story…

Quest mode is some what repetitive but it was fun to complete, need more quests to try in each rank, rather than doing the same damn quest 20+ times to rank up…

And last part… I hated the level system… I loved the skill points distribution but the level system where your level cap is 50 and you get dropped to lv35 after talking to the guy to reincarnate or whatever… was junk.

  • Awesome, very glad to hear about this game. I hope it comes out at least sometime in the Fall. I’ve been interested in the game since it was announced at TGS long ago. I’m also glad this game has online, so I’ll be playing online a lot too. :D Glad to see Level 5 looking into voicechat.

A little off topic, thanks a lot Jeff for pushing Namco Bandai on releasing ToV stateside.
