Hello all! The SCENE Expansion pack was recently released for Metal Gear Online, which came with a ton of exciting new features, maps, and of course two new playable characters, Vamp and Raiden. But there’s even more content coming soon! Starting on May 12th 2009, all players, not just those who have purchased SCENE, will be able to play an entirely new game mode, Race Mission! This mode pits two teams against each other, with the Blue Team searching for and protecting the KEROTAN target, and the Red Team searching for and protecting the GA-KO target. Each time a team passes a check point with its target in hand, a new checkpoint will be generated. If a team drops its target and the target is not retrieved within a set period of time, the target’s position will be reset and the checkpoint will change.
There will also be an exciting new “Patriot” feature available to all players, starting on May 26th. This feature will select a few lucky players every week starting from the 26th, and give them exclusive access to a 5.56mm Hand Rifle with infinite ammunition and no reload. Players will have access to these unique “Patriot” features until the next ranking update. You’d better watch out when a “Patriot” joins your game!
These new features are open to all players, but there’s even more content available in the three MGO Expansion Packs: SCENE, MEME, and GENE. All three are available via Metal Gear Online’s in-game shop and Konami’s shop. Along with all regular methods of payment, you are now able to use the PlayStation Network Wallet payment system.

i must say…trophies sounds like a good idea..BUT do we really need it?.NO. its just for bragging rights. and trophies don’t reward u anything. they just show up on your PSN id. THATS IT!..as fas as MGO ..i always have fun weather i can or cant kill someone…its about the CHALLENGE! and also STEALTH! thats why u can turn into a BOX!..as for PATRIOT mode..he/she is only gonna have unlimited ammo.. but he/she can be KILLED! :p..so yeah MGS4 is a GREAT GAME..with ot without TROPHIES!

MGO to me just has never been what it could have been. The matchmaking is terrible (just copy CoD4, how hard is it?). It’s hard to find people playing the new maps, plus the map packs have all been pretty lackluster compared to the CoD4 variey pack which is to me the best paid map pack of any game so far by a long way.
Plus I’ve hardly played the game and when I tried to join a new map, everyone wanted to kick me so I had to leave, and couldn’t play a game I paid for and DLC I wasted my money on. In CoD you can’t get kicked like that and the whole experience is so fast and great. MGO is the opposite, and to me is a blot on MGS4.
Not to mention the fact that you have to sign up for a konami account just to play the game, and it ignores PSN, which makes no sense to me.
Finally, if the team has purposefully held back trophy support just so they could announce it on the anniversary of MGS4 then that’s just dumb. There are much better things to announce on that day. So yeah the best thing they could announce is they are using PSN names and they are going to make the matchmaking faster as well as making it more friendly online.
It’s like they don’t even READ our comments and our countless e-mails to Konami, to PLEASE PATCH UP THOSE GLITCHES AND BAN THOSE HACKERS, SOME OF WHICH WE HAVE EVIDENCE OF HACKING. And the Trophy Support.
