  • Finally, a good update :). Thanks.

  • Still no GH:M demo :-(

  • Nice update!

I wouldn’t mind seeing more ps1 games like Crash team racing, or Medievil 2, Spyro: Year of the Dragon,

  • Why is it that buying the disgaea stages/characters cost less when you don’t buy them in bulk?seriously souldn’t 2 or more characters cost less then buying them sepretly?

  • Thanks for Rock Band Francis Ferdinand.

Legend of Dragoon was a terrific game that I wouldn’t mind playing again. I always thought there would be a sequel.

Please more and better PS1/2 games!

  • Resident Evil director’s cut please

  • WOW! Now THAT’S an update! We got some demos, some downloadable content and PS1 TITLES!!! I bought all 3 ps1 titles (yes, including Bowling which isn’t too bad, a fun pick up and play title). Keep those PS1 classics coming! Thanks!

  • great update. a little off topic, but any chance of a future psp firmware update that allows us to install the complete umd to the memory card and play the game as long as the actual umd is in the psp (like a pc game installation)? this would help alot with loading times and battery life. also any chance of siren being released on a disc? it looks cool, but the download takes up a lot of space, thanks

  • patapon2 great game. please offer all future psp games via download. i love my psp. i have about 40 games for it, buy i am very hesitant to buy any more umd based games, if they wont wont on future psp models (if the psp go rumors are true) once again thanks

  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine Demo (coming Friday)???

    I already downloaded it this morning?? What y’all De-listed it ? :/

  • yes, it is all nice and fun, but please fix the bank card registration shenanigans in EU PSN. I and many other just cannot buy anything from PSN because of stupid ‘wrong card info’ error.

  • I see a lot of comments about how people think Puzzle Quest is overpriced… maybe it is, but I jumped on it and bought it right away. And trust me, I have complained about a lot of the prices for things… Burnout DLC (want it, but won’t pay those prices), Siren (which I might buy now after the price drop), Penny Arcade Adventures (hoping there will be a bundle price after ep 3, is it ever coming)? Civ Revolution add-ons (way to expensive, what were they thinking)?

Anyway, my point is, I certainly think twice before buying something. But I thought Puzzle Quest was fairly priced at $20.

Is it really overpriced, and I just loved it so much that I looked the other way? I mean, Puzzle Quest provides a LOT of gameplay for the buck, compared to other downloadable games. Wild ARMs is probably the best value on the PS Store in that regard, though.

  • Will we get spyro and castlevanaia in Europe soon?

  • awesome update guys! looks like theres something in this weeks update for everbody, even the ps1 whiners ;). can’t wait to d/l wolverine.

    peace,
    Lh

  • @198 and 200.

Savage Moon isn’t that hard. Getting perfects is frustrating, but that’s true in all tower defense games. Savage Moon is probably the easiest TD game to complete, since it’s one of the very few that you can pay to repair your base after it has been damaged and Amp towers are just overpowered. Upgrade one next to a few gun turrets, AA missiles and mortars and they will kill even the strongest enemies in a blink.

  • Grace,
I’m sure your long gone by now and moved on to other things. But I suggest TROPHIES for PS1 Classics!

  • ummmm whoever said this is a good update is a fool. it s ridiculous. 12.49 for costumes. 20 for puzzle quest. are u serious? disgaea dlc is costing more than the game. imean i’ve said this before but i’ll say it again companies have to stop ripping consumers off. put all this “extra” content in the game. thats what we pay for. $60 for each game times even 500,000 sales is still $30million, that should cover expenses. give us the content we pay for.

  • also like i said before ps3 uses blu-ray for what? they still dont have more than maybe 1 game that actually uses all that space. that game of course is mgs4. so y make such an expensive console if your not gonna force developers to use it to its potential and give ur customers what they pay for. i love my ps3 but its time for it to step up and stop trying to make $200 bucks off a $60 game buy adding dlc which is usually prepared pre release and could easily be included for the same price.

  • i also notice that this is my 6th or 7th dlc rant and no one from sony or any of the developers have responded. i wonder y? maybe its because they know i’m right and their just milking the consumers for as much cash as possible. i mean come on those costume packs for street fighter are bogus. and disgaea be serious! and little big planet was just a test for the dlc market which is why its gets more dlc every month.

  • sony is blatantly allowing developers to rip people off and is doing so itself by not including this content in the game for the original $60. even lower selling games who offer dlc are making a killing. this is ridiculous. u guys wonder why ur games arent selling? its because ur only giving us half the game to start and we have to spend more money to purchase dlc(to be read as the rest of the game that we want to milk u for which could have been included but can generate more revenue as dlc)

  • PS1 games! About time! PLEASE don’t make us wait another 5 months for the next batch…

Also, people should not be complaining about the price of Galactrix. After all, it costs $30 retail on DS! That makes $20 on PSN look pretty awesome to me. I think we should be complaining about $23 for Pursuit Force, which is totally ABSURD! I mean come on, it released on UMD THREE YEARS AGO and sells used for $12 now! The download should’ve been $15 TOPS!

  • dlc is an almost industry wide insult to the consumer. i mean why does lbp charge $3 for a costume and yet naruto is able to offer whole packs for free. why can ea offer half the dlc for burnout for free. it jsut proves that dlc can be given for free and even if not at least not for the ridiculous prices that have been charged recently. i’m sorry but i’ve yet to purchase a game from the psn that was worth more than 6 0r 7 bucks and if u look at my profile i have purchased quite a few. and why do they charge more for downloadable games than the physical version like with the psp legacy line. its ridiculous it should be cheaper not more expensive.

  • Great update this week, but i think $20 for puzzleQuest might be too much.

  • patapon 2 is $20. y? theres no packaging no materials no retailer overhead add on. so how can u justify selling it for the same price as you would if it was released in umd format. not only that but when i’m done i cant trade it in or sell. i’m just stuck with it. that blows. if it was sold for half that price the profit margin would probably be the same as if it was sold in umd format. but alas if they sell it for the same price as a download only …… increased profit! the corporate mind at work(to be read as F*** the consumer, the bottom line is all that matters)

  • Why the delay on the Wolverine demo, ie no store update on Thursday? And I’m checking the store this Friday morning (west coast time) and still no demo. :(

  • That Puzzle Quest is pricy, no thanks.

Great update, I’m going to try the Savage Moon Demo. 3 PS1 games, that’s awesome. Just add a B/C add-on for PS2 games now please :)

  • :) This is Nice

  • Really good update.

  • Pata Pata Pata Poooooooon. I love the main menu theme song.
Thanks for the great update this week. But please pass on to those that control this sort of thing, $23 for Pursuit Force and $20 for Galactrix is just way too much for downloadable games. Especially for a PSP game that is now on PSN and has no overhead. $9.99 is the sweet spot for me.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you so much for the new PSOne classics!! Spyro 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now all I need is Spyro 3!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! XD

  • $22 for Pursuit Force, really!?

I can get the UMD from Gamestop for cheaper than that! Like… $17+ cheaper.

Seriously, Sony: I’d love to buy “UMD classics” from the PSN store. But not at $15 prices. $10-14 sure. But anything above that is just wading into the physical copy territory (unless it’s something like Puzzle Quest: Galactrix which is new on release through digital distro)

And while I’m on the fence about Blood Curse (the demo gave an okay taste, but not enough combat/sneaking/etc. to give a good frame of mind on wither to buy or not), giving games a permanent price drop would be nice as they age.Blood Curse is nearly a year or two old and we’re still paying $40, why? A perma-drop to $30 would entice me to buy it.

Of course, I know this won’t happen since the “Disney releasing stuff on Blu-ray/DVD/whatever again a decade or two later for a ‘limited time’!” effect causes more people to buy things than non.

Still, consider dropping the prices of the UMD rips, please? I want to get Field Commander and run it off the memory stick (it’s just better than UMD) but not for $15.

  • Nice update afterall

  • StalkingSilence

Spelling fix, “descened” should be “descended” in the R-Type writeup.

Also, amazing to make a game called, “Bowling” – I wish I made games back in the day before all the titles were taken. Now you’d need a colon for sure (e.g., “Bowling: Pinned Down in Time”). 18 MB though? That’s 1/3 of a dollar per megabyte, no?

    Great update overall.

  • StalkingSilence

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Uncaged Edition: Colon

  • StalkingSilence

One last thing, pataponpsp.com link is broken – may want to fix. Great website and I’m buying it this weekend.

  • Any chance we could get file sizes listed with all downloadable items (demos, dlc, etc.)?
    Thanks! :)

  • Oh, for my comment #236, I mean file sizes listed on the PS Store for all content.

  • AvoidTalkingMice

Did we actually just get PSone Classics? Wow, kudos, Sony – kudos! Best update!

  • I didnt notice the Wolverine demo -__-…Was it there anyway?

  • WHAT???? Spyro 2 yaay!!! Thanks Sony for this incredible PSOne classic. Now bring Spyro 3 and Crash Team Racing. :)

  • @ Improperlyaged.

The reason nobody responds to you is because you’re blatantly displaying a total lack of knoledge as to why DLC costs what it does.

The reason Burnout updates were free for a year was because CRITERION, the GAME DEVELOPERS, decided they would release it for free. Neither EA nor Sony had any say in the matter.

The decision on if, and what, content costs is up to the company who developed it, and not Sony.

As for “It should be cheaper cause it’s DLC”, no it shouldn’t. There’s still overheads of staff wages for the developers, R&D, tech costs, everything. If te price is what it is, then they had their reasons.

And, in case you never realised, a profit model for selling stuff like this is designed to make as much money as fast as possible. Your idea of screwing the consumer is just your opinion, because it doesn’t cater to you, exactly how you want it.

You may be properly aged, but you don’t exactly show it.

  • great to see the ps1 games good job sony .thats the good news now for the bad the cost for the DLCS are outta hand guys. I am 52 been gaming for 30 yrs bac then when u bought a game u got it all. money it tight for most ppl at this time and i would hope that sony sees that and give it a rest for now.i will not paid DLCS now no matter what the game in stead i will only buy ps1 games for i know i will the whole game not part of 1

  • ProtagorasEmber

Got excited when I logged on the store and saw the PSOne sign. Then I saw that it was another Spyro game, another Rtypes game, and Bowling. Bowling? Seriously… Bowling? Also why isn’t there a new Puzzle Quest for the PSP? The DS got their’s about a month ago…Bowling???

  • @lebreya

actually sony has a great deal of influence with the developer since it is their system and in many cases they are the developer and i am very well aware of their cost to produce a product but how is it possible the cost arent met by the original $60. dlc as a whole is designed to rip off comsumers for the most part as most of the content was budgetted with the original release. and it should be cheaper because downloading a game cost the developer less than producing a physical product. ur argument doesnt make sense because if a product cost less to produce shouldnt it cost less especially if it s a re-release of a umd that sells for less in the stores.

  • @ lebreya
also including the dlc for the same price would entice more customers to purchase the game from the beginning because lets be honest who’s gonna purchase dlc for a game they dont own so developers main goal should be to sell the original game not get as much money as possible off dlc as a game that no one bought cant really make much off dlc. the goal should always be to cater to the consumer as without us there is no industry or money for them.

  • @ Improperlyaged

I could argue this point with you, but it’s obvious you’re too hard headed to accept that you’re wrong. You have no idea what you’re on about, at all.

The sooner you get over yourself and learn just why DLC costs what it does, the sooner you’ll learn to be happy with what you get and stop spreadin crap all over this blog.

  • Can’t say the same about the EU store… no PS games nor PQG. Its really getting annoying that we in Europe are being noticed as “last”. Most likely will get the US versions instead. Tough call SCEE! EU store doesn’t even have Suikoden. Speaking of import downloads, downloaded Gomibako aka Trash Panic today… Totally insane! Lot of fun and also hard. And speaking of Japanese… I’m getting the FFXIII demo soon *teehee*.

  • im playing patapon 2 :-) YES

  • I’m having some audio problems on Spyro 2 on PSP-1000 model.

  • Awesome! Just played Savage Moon, I’m definitely buying it!
