Hello, I just wanted to provide everyone with a head’s up that the next PLAYSTATION 3 system software update (v.2.76) will be coming soon. This is a minor update that improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software.

we have all seen you are inept at this job. please fire yourself. seriously this update “helps with ps media” how about the media that worked before your last patch you smuck (remember divx?). or better yet cross game voice chat and other no brainers.. wait did i say no brainers because you have no brain but yet still fail at the obvious. sony why dont you try listening to us THE PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT THE SYSTEM? not some pencil pushing twit who probably cant even tie his own shoes. he has proven time and again he has not a clue about what we want. really edited text chat? that was a big one right. we all wanted that and had been saying it for ages.. sarcasm. Eric you are spineless how about you actually answer these posts we make. or the 2.70 blog for that matter. we demand an explanation. we pay your salary you answer to US. did you get that? be a man and level with us. what are the plans timeframes goals problems etc. its called corp.transparency. its when a company keeps thier supporters in light of what is going on. TRY IT.
by the way listen to that shangran guy. KEYBOARD and mouse support from firmware.. alls u do is enable the input signals from the keyboard i already have plugged in to override the prebase controller device. simple enough for you? add it to the list

Is anyone else having trouble hosting a game or even joining a game on resident evil 5. I cant do either and have checking every setting with my router. It worked before the last update and now it doesnt. This reason update didnt fix it. Thanks

Does anyone know what printers are compatible with ps3 ?
Why can’t Sony make PS3 easy or simple to use. When I was in game playing. It requires lots of button clicking to get into text chat or messaging to my friend.
Also on the Resident Evil, to play with the friends online, they require lots of button clicking to set up the online game. Even when it turned down saying it is full with player and guess what, it send me back to the main menu and more clicking to get back to the list of host games. It is not easy or simple to play.
Also why are you treating us like we are under 18. I am pretty sure more than 50% of us are PS3 hard-core, treat us like adult.
Everyone is using computer these days and there is almost no restrict, and I am hoping Sony will realize that there is no difference between PS3 and computer world.

anyone having trouble joining a game in resident evil 5?
Doesn’t the game developer have to choose cross game chat? I know it’s their choice now but I don’t think it’s Sony’s place to make it mandatory. I know as a developer I wouldn’t want people chatting with people in games other than my own while they play mine.

since this machine is suppose to house all the media you have you should be able to search for them in a more efficient manner. So when you click L3 or L1 something like that. There should be a box that pops up allowing you type in the name of the file your looking for and then allow you specify which file type your looking for: video, picture etc. and then there should be a list of files that matches the search you have entered
WHY is there even a limit on how much friends you can have??? SONY change that immediately.. at least give us the limit of 350 or something..

Please can you tell what are the games concerned with this update
why sony just make an emulator for those systems that did not come equip with the option to play ps1 and ps2 games
F1r3Starta, I don’t use the XBox 360 – I’ve never had a desire to have to pay money to play games I’ve already bought online. That’s the only gripe I have with that system.
If the cross-game chat can be implemented and it works on a 360, then I don’t see why PS3 owners should be able to enjoy the same thing! So be it!
Farhad91@#477 – that comment does not belong here. It is completely unacceptable, and it’s pretty offensive.
I’ve discussed this idea with fellow members on the Gamer Advisory Panel, and we all really, really like the idea of having a sort of Wii-like addition to the XMB – the calendar! That will track what games you play on what day, how long you played said game, and what trophies you unlocked and when you unlocked them on the date!
The ability to copy and paste in the internet browser would also be an excellent addition in the next major firmware update! These are some ideas, and please, someone “official” respond to some of our more intelligent posts. There’s hardly anything more awesome than having direct dialogue with your customers and support base – but dialogue only happens when more than just the consumers talk amongst themselves… =)
u should also fix so that u can see photos while u play, its ridiculous to have to quit a game just to watch a photo. also the ps3 should support more video formats like .mkv and watnot

I just updated to the new firmware and now my TV does not get a signal from my ps3 when I start up x-men origins: wolverine game. The demo works but not the game disc.

I thought you could do that anyway? Can’t you go to your own name in the friends list, hit triangle, then choose status and put yourself offline? Or did you mean automatically when your turn your system on?
as a fighting game player who likes to use my PS2 arcade stick for Street Fighter 4/HD Remix, firmware updates 2.7 and up make my PS2/PS3 controller adapter freeze the entire system. Please fix this and make us fighting game players very happy! I hate using pad for fighting games and there are lots of others just like me.
I just tried it and this issue has *not* been resolved – I know many people in the fighting game community are quite upset about it.
woot false alarm game works
I’m having trophy trouble after downloading the update. I bought my last golden weapon on Quantum of Solace and didn’t receive my Goldfinger trophy. I also didn’t receive my trophy for purchasing all weapons, accessories, gadgets, etc. I checked my weapons shop and every single item says that it’s purchased. Will there be a fix for this issue?
Please give the Naruto Ninja Storm a trophy packet. LOVE THE GAME, NEED THE TROPHY TO PROVE IT!

This is such a joke, the battery indicator covering the clock thing STILL hasn’t been fixed.
Whenever you see a list of features for an upcoming update and it says that it fixes the clock/battery indicator issue that’s an automatic tipoff right there to it being fake.
The bast update you should provide is in-game Internet Browser. That would be the icing on a cake. It helps differentiate itself from XBox 360. Just Imagine watching a youtube video while playing resistance 2.

i’ve mentioned this 100 times. i would like to listen to podcasts on my ps3, but i cannot because it takes forever to fast forward to the part i need to get to (30 minutes in, at 1.5 speed taked 15 mintes).
please add the ps3 audio ff that the psp has.
is anyone else having rediculous network issues with this update? i had to try like 5 times to sign in to the store and such, the browser was working but it wouldnt sign me into psn. then i went to go to home to dl the new apartment, it crashed the first time, then froze, then wouldnt load. just a bunch of wierd network stuff.
I own a ps3 and currently do not have a Broadband connection, so I really do not want cross game voice chat as it is a unessential feature, I would like playstation.com to think about In-game music and trophies on every game, these features need to be included!
Why do I get an error when I try to do a system update to get version 2.71? Error number 80710723. It has been timing out at 7% process for the last 2 days. I need to get this updated so I can play online. Please help.
I’m having the same issue as neojehuty, I don’t get any audio or video output when playing X-men Origins: Wolverine after getting this update. It is the same with Uncharted, but other games work.
This is a very disappointing update. I as a very big Ps3 fan, would love to see more important updates such as cross voice chat (Could even integrate Skype while you’re at it) Ps2 playback, hey even music IN game would be amazing at this point. Thanks for listening.
I am having the same issue of not being able to play my X-men Origins: Wolverine since the update…whats going on with that? Why is my game all of the sudden not working? I have tried multiple times and multiple things to get it to work again and every time the game starts my TV says there is no signal and goes to a blue screen but my PS3 acts like it is still loading something.
Will you guys be adding background slideshows similar to Windows 7 style theme/background slideshow?
Haven really discovered anything with this update except maybe slightly more stable internet browser, hoping for a better update soon

Everyone is saying it. Please take it in to consideration for the next update. It would be great through Skype since you could call people from the PS3 and that would be awesome. If the PS3 got that, PS1 In-game XMB and internet radio like PSP I would never log off.
In Game music on Playstation Home would be nice!!!!!
