please uncensore the word EGGPLANT out of the text chat, that and many other normal non curse words are censored, If I can use the word GAY in Home I should be able to use it in text chat, as in “that glitcher is gay” or this map is loading to long and it’s gay or ghey or gai or gey. I mean all the people on my psn are between the ages of 25 and 49, no worries about harming our eyes by letting us use real world language. Also I keep trying to dload it(it’s live now) but get an 80710723 error. ramp up those update servers folks.
I wonder if Eric actually reads these comments?

Okay update, but what about the playstation network there are times i cant even log in for example ive been trying to sign in all day and am still trying. Stuff like this makes it hard for me defend the ps3 against those haters i bump into.

…playback probably means improvements on media- files with high or variable bitrates. Were some issues with that on the last update.
..I’m just wondering one thing. Most people don’t seem to have enough bandwidth to run KZ2 online well. And on the xbox, I know several people who don’t use the chat simply because it doesn’t work well in game. There are also a few issues with cheating in games like Socom – the text- chat even turned out to be a problem. And I really can’t imagine people having lengthy conversations with others while they’re playing different games. It’s irritating enough when the phone goes off, so how does this work..
But nevertheless it’s the one thing people on forums insist on – why? Can you come up with any reason beyond “I want it”? ..Is it for example for private chat- channels in an online game? It would be nice if people were a bit more specific, you know..
please give us some features Sony, i’m begging you!!! i would really like to have skype on my ps3, i do make phone calls from my psp, but i also think it would be handy on the ps3, keep up the good work Sony

Why us everyone making a big deal about this when it clearly states that it will be a minor update. If you’re expecting something big based on internet speculation don’t. If anything wait until after E3 before you get hyped about anything.

I hope this is an essential set up for an E3-announced 2.80, otherwise why couldn’t it have been rolled up with some real changes?
And when are you going to fix the clock and add a “# messages unread” sticky? We’ve only been asking for these very simple and easy to do things for over two years now. But instead we get things like that photo app which no-one likes and Life with PlayStation which few use.
Eric and Team Update thank you for this update, we don’t know what it entails but it must be good. Is it Remote Play related? Does it deal with new router security captcha to enable freedom of play? Who do you guys think you are? Copying and pasting a demand list? Do you understand how well implemented the PSN is considering it’s FREE?!?! Some of you guys need to quit whining and appreciate the FREE service. It’s ridiculous, if you dont like it, dont use it. Dont come in here and demand stuff as if you deserve it. The PSN has shaped up quite nicely and the price tag has remained the same. I bet the stuff some of you guys are demanding would mean a yearly fee, which you probably would complain about as well. Get over yourselves.
2.76 introduces cross-game semaphore if both ends own the eye toy, and cross-game smoke signals if both ends own x-box.
PS I’d like to triangle on a game and be able to select an option that shows me which of my friends have it. I have many friends and to find out if they have something I either have to type dozens of messages or go through dozens of trophy lists.
Honestly, I couldn’t give a (bleep) about cross-game voice-chat.
Bring universal keyboard chat IN-GAME to the PS3. That’d be a huge boon to the 360 not supporting keyboards (and mouse) in FPS and bring it in line with PC gaming. IE: You have the option for voice and text/keyboard chat in game.
And make it a requirement for nearly ALL FPS on the PS3 to support keyboard and mouse. Why is UT3 STILL the only console FPS on the PS3 that lets me put a USB/wireless keyboard and mouse on and play FPS the way they’re meant to be played?
I do agree that invisible status for online mode would be nice for quick signing in, seeing if the PSN store updated and signing out without people knowing you were on be nice.
As would a less hassle XMB invite function. Why does RE5 require me to check the message and then say join? I shouldn’t have to bring up the XMB and press triangle to accept that. I should just check the message or even better if the person is available and there is a spot open have the ability to join through the XMB a la X-box Live’s gamercard “join session in progress” ability.
You guys are making strides into getting PSN on equal footing with XBL, but come on you need to be quicker/listening to people about this.

You guys/girls should try and make an update to where us PS3 gamers can voice chat while we are playing a game. That way we don’t have to wait to die, or pause the game in order to keep sending messeges to one another. And another thing that would be nice would be to add a Voice Mail option so that if you are offline or online, and someone doesn’t want to send you a messege, they can just send a Voice Mail to you so that you could listen to it later on, and then respond back to it.
Can’t wait for E3 and what not. Hope some exciting features are on the way. Also, to anyone who thinks its a good idea to make a joke about cross game messaging via “pigeons” or “horse and buggy” should just shut it. It unoriginal and wasn’t that funny the first time, it is annoying and juvenile at best.

Please, PLEASE fix that stupid chat censor that blocks out things like “lul” (as in lulz), “toy”, and other innocent terms. I also find it funny that y’all went through so much trouble to censor text chat, when you have no control whatsoever over voice and video chat. Chat is optional. If we don’t like what we see/hear, we can leave. That’s our only option for the latter two, so please make it our only option for the former, instead of turning half of what we say into “***”.
Also, could you guys start combining firmware updates with Home updates? I rarely use Home, and I hate that the few times I do, I usually have to update the thing (and THEN redownload every place I want to go in Home). I swear I’m updating something every few seconds on PSN, whether it be firmware, Home, Killzone 2, or whatever.
Syncing up Home and firmware updates would be great, as it would at least cut down on some of the updates I need to download on my not-so-great connection. Plus then you can advertise all the updates coming to Home whenever you advertise the next firmware update too. It’d be a double-whammy of awesome for us.
Would be great if you guys could make it so the internet browser could stay up while we play games. Just so we can quickly check emails/forums while I wait for a game to install/load, or check a guide if I’m using one.

How about fixing system lockups when using a controller adapter? It only bricked a lot of PS3 systems for TAC and Sumoto users.
“Official” adapters aren’t available anymore sans eBay for Pelican brand at a 300% markup.
I was smart enough to know not to do a firmware update for a good day just in case stuff like that pops up and Sony turns a cold shoulder to us.
