@435 just use the ps3 browser… why add it in a firmwire? when you can use the browser for twitter and facebook… i use the browser everyday so simple.
Will this finally fix the issue with COD 4 not auto selecting 1080p on HDTV sets?it’s very annoying to go into settings everytime to disable 720p everytime I play COD 4
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, COULD YOU PLEASE MAKE IT SO I CAN SORT MY PS1/PS2 MEMORY CARDS BY ALPHABETICAL/ALPHANUMERIC ORDER. IT SHOULD BE A SIMPLE REQUEST THAT TAKES YOUR GUYS SECOND TO DO.
All this update does is block Open Remote Play.
ive heard there is something called playstation cloud coming out with this update there have to be something big behind it since the update number went to 80 im expecting something good sony dont let me down your the best company in the world unlike some companys who just wont money cough microsoft dony let me down sony dont let me down
i love updates i wish the ps3 would load a bit quicker though while online AND MINE KEEPS FREEZING BECAUSE OF IT!!!!!!

Firmware updates are like Christmas Morning!
For those of you that haven’t noticed, these system updates seem to follow immediately after Nvidia updates their forceware drivers which means that it is very likely that this was a change to the RSX driver in the OS. The chances are probably good that if you go to the Nvidia driver page for late hardware, the list of titles you are looking for will be listed with rounded percentages of performance increases for each title. I am sure that they squeeze OS tweaks in almost every update but this seems like the most logical conclusion.

CLOUD is not fake. Sony trademark CLOUD months ago. However, the info that was *leak might not be 100% accurate. I think it is accurate because it was show down too quickly by Sony. Look at the PSP Go images that pop up on the web and was shot down my Sony soon after. The Last Guardian trailer was also shot down soon after.

Hello people of the ps3 community.
I have many ideas I would like to add to our ps3 experience .
These opinions are not entirely mine some are my friends and we love to posses them in our ps3.
#1 we need the main ps3 menu style to change something like to those cool java features with pop-ups and cool fade backs.
#2 If possible playing music tracks while on both online & normal game play .
#3we need a benefit from our trophies we can use as credits to buy stuff from the ps-store you can specify those things if you like but it would be cool if we can use then in like a cash or trade method.
#4 upload our own pictures as our avatars.
#5 feature like you your own space were you can upload your own game videos and picture also a records for games played ,trophy display, space customization , top friends , [music played in backround(if possible)].
#6 messengers like yahoo,msn,skype.
To make the ps3 our only sanctuary for entertainment.
(we want the ps3 to be the only leading gaming experience)

I’d just like to add my 2 cents that probably won’t even be read, but can we still get a trophy patch for Hot shots Golf: Out of Bounds please? Thanks. Not only should all sony 1st party games get a patch at some point but this game REALLY needs one. It’s such a perfect fit for trophies. I don’t want to have to wait a few years to get some hot shots trophies until the next hot shots releases.

Please fix the problem where when you hit the PS button in game where the battery life of your controller displays over the time. I’ve owned my PS3 for a year and that still hasn’t been fixed.
Looks like the insider on that forum over yonder was right about the release date for the firmware.
Even before it was announced, maybe he was right about the PS3 slim not having Other OS support, and update 3.0 to include cross voice chat.

Is there any way I could stop the Songs on my Media Server from sorting alphebetically when I am viewing by album? I’d really like to hear the songs in the album’s order. Someone please let me know if this is already possible.

The XMB is the pinnacle of menu design.
It IS “COOL” and above all it IS FUNCTIONAL!
It fades when your start and exit a game.
Your second point has nothing to do with firmware. That feature is in the PS3 already it is up to the dev to implement it. Warhawk is an example of online custom music. All depends on the dev.
Points 3, 4 and 5 have all been addressed by Sony.
They have plans for trophies. (If they ACTUALLY DO something who knows)
Point 4 they are concerned about obscene material being uploaded so you may never see this.
Point 5 Home is going to continue to evolve and it will get a trophy room etc.
Point 6 FAIL
Just wanted to point something out, I have NEVER seen a single comment from Sony (Eric) after a firmware post, I know a large amount of the questions on here are not able to be answered but some could be, or even just coming on and saying yes we are working on a large update and they require smaller updates in between, etc. The Euro blog has posted a few replies to their FW update even though it doe snot answer any questions either it at least shows that someone is reading our concerns or complements. What is teh point of a blog post if there is never any replies? Just wanted to say it would be nice to see this in the future, and WAY TO GO EURO BLOG!
please the next update to be no longer than 1month away and to include music and voice chat with friends in other games while playing games please this is what the ps3 is missing to be the absolute best. At least put the voice chat while in other games thats all i want:)

Hate to break it to you guys, cross game voice chat will never come to PS3. The fact that they added text chat reinforces this.

doesn’t get updated for new games anymore. I bought Eternal Poison (PS2) several months ago and there is still no information about it on the Backward Compatibility Status pages.

In Game Music is already implemented.
It’s per game up to the dev.
Trophies were patched into those games by the dev.
Not up to Sony and not part of the firmware.
How the hell can you send video by texting?
Go bother the dev of Guitar Hero 3 for trophies Sony doesn’t make this game and it also has nothing to do with the firmware.

How many of these do we need really? I mean, it’s great that you are improving the quality in which the PS3 performs, but unless you are going to tell us exactly what it improves I’m going to simply say Pffffff!
If it’s going to repair the speed of the XMB for example, then sweet…but if it’s only going to improve the display quality of like PS1 downloadable content…well, I think that could wait until higher priorities are dealt with.
People have requests and I doubt majority are coming anytime soon, unfortunately.
Personally I want, well at ton of stuff added…but mostly PAL/NTSC support. PS3 should be able to play any movie standard IMO…

Sony has the games but when it comes to software on their hardware they trail behind, compare to Microsoft, the interface on my 360 is second to none absolutely love it, with the addition of facebook and twitter you cant find a better all round console.
Only thing I’m noticing is much faster “sync” times for trophy stuff. When I bring up someone’s profile card, the stats and trophies are there almost instantly, it used to take up to ten seconds. My personal trophy collection loads much faster too.
I wish we could leave our friends voice messages….
Or just get the actual list of games that run better or what they fixed.
Summer sucks for 09 because of Sony’s so called promises from what? Wow thats really sad 2008! Watch E3-08 if you don’t believe me..I’m getting to the piont of just selling my PS3 due to SCEA’s lack of Communication and Support for its fanbase which I’m guessing doesn’t exist anymore! =(

Mr. Lempel’s current “personal best” for ignoring customer comments is his 2-sentence announcement of fw 2.70.
2,068 comments without a single reply. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

To be fair, the fw 2.70 blog post was actually several paragraphs accompanied by a cute little video from Mr. Lempel showing us how that fantastic TEXT chat works.
However, the 2,068 user comments with zero replies still makes this one of the most pathetic displays of poor customer service I’ve ever witnessed.
