Wooohooo….man I was about to throw that crappy, sh1tty madden 08 away. Maybe it’ll improve that graphics because that thing looks as bad as my comodore vic20. I’m serious I can’t even get rid of that game…no one wants it. Maybe it’ll breath some life into that.
I hope this firmware fiz Zen Pinball because that ging is always loading into a blank screen for me with just sound coming on and I my ps3 becomes unresponsive and I have to shut it down. Come on Zen….sho is some sloppy programming there.
Boy I would hate to be in Eric’s shoes right now. He must be the most hated man from all Sony fans.
I pray for the day his team finally gives us what we all want. I don’t need to repeat the requests, its been a broken record for over 1 year now.

Things people seem to be forgetting;
1) The PSN is free…wow free? You mean we can play online on any game without extra charge? That’s right! :O
2) The PSN is still new, it’s only 2 and a half years old compared to XBL which was launched in 2002…some difference huh? So next time you compare the two services, think of this…XBL has been around longer AND people are charged for it…so of course they are going to get a more advanced service.
Would you rather pay for the PSN and get these things? No, because you people are so greedy it’s unbelievable, you expect the world.
It’s not rocket science kids, we will get these features, but what’s the rush? The world isn’t going anywhere, you all have lives to lead..so quit wasting them creating pointless arguments over things you don’t even understand correctly..take a course in programming..that would be a good start.

Honestly. Sony I find this as bad customer service when a simple information like “The playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 format software has been improved.” considered a useful information. What does that even mean other than the obvious? More video formats would be a nice addon. Multiple user login would be nice too for split screen multiplayer so two parties can benefit from trophies and stuff at one’s household.

Tell me what exactly in this update Better people PS3 experience? Most people here are complaining about the lack of detail on what exactly this new firmware do or don’t do. Well at least that what I am complaining about because I am being force into downloading this update if I want to play online or visit the PSN store. I for one would love the features we been asking for since the PS3 launch, but those features take time. However, how long more do we have to wait for those features to come out? Until the PS4?
I’m surprised a firmware update in the tenths place doesn’t introduce something new.
Maybe we couldve at least have more Avatar icons, that would be nice right Sony Playstation ppl.
I hope Firmware 2.80 will have more added video codec compatibilities!!!

I for one am grateful for these continuous free updates. I can be patient and wait for those features that others are demanding. I understand that the playstation’s OS touches a lot of systems so it takes a while to implement bigger features. Keep up the good work Eric! and hopefully you survive the onslaught from rumour mills.

Screw this now everyone listen up. Sony always releases small updates before releasing something big and usually in this small updates there are things baked in to allow futher improvement. The same users will be on here changing there tune as always as soon as there is something they like so stop posting useless crap and speculating.
Sony should indeed include a list of changes but then again wait doesn’t the site provide that already as well as when you update tell you what changes lol…Honestly who here reads? Seriously though. These are retarded. If it ACTUALLY makes the XMB load faster and trophies sync faster like people are saying, why not SAY IT IN THE OFFICIAL BLOG POST? Im guessing this update does nothing…

I want a better way to manage files between other external devices and the HDD on the PS3 plus that damn overlay with the battery and time is annoying. More video codecs, Flash 10 would be nice, estimate of time it takes to download a file when downloading background is choosen, and a few other fixes and for the love of GOD I have an awesome Tv why can’t all games be in 1080p I’m stuck with 720P and for what lets fix that before adding anything big or atleast let your customers know what is going on as in communicate.
Omg, it’s true then! This confirms the leak. The PS3 slim is actually coming out and its gonna lack other OS support and some hardware modifications/removals.
As far as this update goes, word on the street is that it drastically improves in-game-XMB and Trophy loading.
Also update 3.0 is bringing cross game support and should come out sometime this year…

There’s one thing that annoys me everytime I log onto the PS Store here in NZ… a typo!
In the ‘Other’ media section or whatever its called… sountrack instead of sounDtrack. Come on. Get it right! I’m losing sleep over it, considering switching to XBOX, willing to sell my first born to get this one problem sorted… etc etc ad nauseum…
Hopefully in futur FW there would be a way to organize PSN downloaded games and videos into folders so that it wont be just lying around in the XMB,.
Yes I know I can arrange them in to folders using the first letter as sorting parameter. but still i dont think this solves the problem.

Seriously I’m not usually one to complain but got ***** can we least get 1 new feature in an update of this caliber. Its not as if PSN doesn’t need any. Like WTF are you guys at Sony doing. I’m a loyal follower but its just sick to actually see my fellow friends leave and go to 360 when weak ass updates like this happen. I hear them talking and actually leaving everyday. Its like a sinking ship. Can we pleased start gettting at least info on the Software that it improves!!! This is crap and you guys know it.

Not everyone that has complaints is bad, just the people that spam, cry, complain at every single firmware update. Those are the people that want stuff that isn’t easy to give them for free and NOW. Or they will spam the blog.

I think Sony is handling this post very wrong, it just lacks personality. Just giving us a vague message is what is making people ticked off I think. Last time we got the same vague message and I was pleased with the minor update, since trophies loading super slow was a big issue for me. Maybe this will fix the battery and clock issue? :) .

In order to garner trust he also posted about update 2.8 and said it would come out on June 24. He even said what would be in the update.
So far he’s been right so I’m inclined to believe the rest of the stuff he said as well…
