News in Hollywood travels fast!
I am happy to confirm that it is indeed true, Sony Computer Entertainment has signed a deal with Columbia Pictures for a movie adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and it will be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner. We have been working with Avi and the folks and Columbia for quite some time and look forward to sharing additional details on the film in the short future. Obviously we designed the game to be a cinematic experience and we too can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
So, who do you think should play Nathan Drake?
I think the main character from Stargate Atlantis should be Nathan.

Nathan Fillion is the obvious choice to play Nathan Drake, IMO. Drake is so similar to the character he played on Firefly, plus he does look a lot like Drake.
I really hope Emily Rose plays Elena. Not only is she the voice of Elena, but she looks like her too.

Joe Flanigan is definitely a good pick for ND.
However Nathan Fillion can take a hike if he plays drake I simply won’t see it. Something awfully cartoony about the guy and I just don’t like that for Nathan Drake. Maybe Dr Horrible ruined my perception of him, or maybe it was Firefly. He can take Chris Pine with him, definitely not a good choice. Perhaps Captain Kirk is just better off hanging out with his psychopath spock.
But hell ya Bruce Campbell would be awesome for Sully…. but they’d have to squeeze him in between shoots for Burn Notice.

As soon as I saw, heard, and played as Drake, Nathan Fillion was the very first person to pop into my head.
I am happy to see that there is a lot of outcry for Nolan North to play Nathan Drake in the big screen adaptation of this game.

Nathan Fillion is the perfect guy for this. He’ll nail all those smart ass remarks and he has basically played the same guy in firefly. He was made to play this role.
Nolan North would be okay but in my opinion the better choice would be Nathan Fillion. He would be perfect. I just don’t really trust Nolan North’s acting skills. And if it’s Shia LaBeouf or Christian Bale I simply won’t see it or if it’s directed by McG or Michael Bay.

I think that Brendan Fraser would be amazing.
He seems to have that same personality of drake in alot of the movies he does, plus he can do action movies well.

I agree with whoever said there’s no need for a movie. Why even bother when the game is better than any flick? Just watch all the cutscenes and you have your movie…
And I certainly don’t want my favourite game this gen to be ruined by a crappy movie adaptation (reminds me of Silent Hill. I had high hopes for the movie and it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of my whole life).
What about an animated prequel instead? Something about how Nathan and Eddy met. I would love to know more about the story between these two…

He’s got a nice following of fans. They’ve supported him during Firely and the Serenity. Not to mention his are the ones that have kept his series on ABC, Castle, alive for a 2nd season.

That is so cool. They making a movie out of it that’s cool only if there really was someone named Nathan Drake it would be even better. Even the game already felt like a movie. I can’t wait tot see it hopefully it really turns out good.

I’d like for it to be Nolan North but the problem is that if this is going to be a high budget movie, other than those who have played Uncharted won’t know who Nolan North is. A lot of people still base on wether they’ll watch a movie or pre-determine wether they think it’ll be good or not based on who’s in it or who stars in it. I don’t think “Uncharted: the movie” starring Nolan North would be enough to enough people to watch it and make it a success. Although I’d love to are see Nolan play the part.
Evan, I think it’s fair to say all the fans would like to see Nathan Fillon play the role.
Not only does he carry an almost identical voice, but he’s got the build and action/comedic style to really drive the film.
Please avoid a AAA Hollywood actor for this film as that generally doesn’t end all well.
I also hope to see the story and charm follow the game’s. It would be heart-breaking to see the Hollywood machine ruin another great game.
I just hope this will be better than the Tomb Raider movies :) Agreed Bruce Campbell should be in this :)
I love the idea of Nathan Fillion playing, Drake, but if for some reason he couldn’t do it my pick would be Ken Marino (from MTV’s the state, and reaper) he’s very underrated as an actor.

Looked up this Nathan Fillion guy and he does seem like the best choice so far. Also Emily Rose to play Elena is frickin obvious, anyone else would be retarded, since she can definately act that role, and looks alot like Elena. That dude from Prison Break as Eddie aswell.
Nathan Fillion! Why? He has the same humour as Drake, looks close enough, has played similar parts before AND he’d bring some of that charm of his (watch Firefly and Castle if you don’t know what I mean) to the film.

I would like to see Nolan North attempt it myself. He’s already an actor, even though not very well known. What better way to start a fresh franchise with a fresh face. That’s my vote.
