Sony probably makes more money off of Home than they would have by simply providing us with free features all the time.
Cash, Eric Lempel has already confirmed they were working on cross game chat in an interview (too lazy to find a link).
Great addition to the theater, now all we need is real movies and shows playing and we’re set :)

Your right. How many SF4, RE5, KZ2, and Ghostbuster costumes do you see running around? TONS! You are right Home generates tons of money. Plus a few of my friends just about bought every place that you can buy in the store. So CASHviLLe_615 has no clue.

Great. Unless Locust or Cydonia can confirm this will not be a USA only giveaway like usual, this is just another reason for me not to go back into Home.
I know it may seem like a lot to ask, but please outline some basic rules and reg’s in the blog post, so my fellow Canadians and I don’t get our hopes up for nothing.
lol, sony is just letting m$ run all over it, there not even trying , remember when home was suppose to have game launch? wha happen to that why can’t sony make that mandatory? like the trophies i just don’t get it, i know home got potential but sony is not using it.

PlayStation is progressing very slowly with very small steps, but its getting there. BTW, are you guys EVER going to add Public Chat back? That is one of the main things I miss from the closed beta I participated in.

Instead of dedicated servers for lagfree online play we can have laggy P2P like Microsoft has
Instead of 40, 64, or even 256 player online games we can be stuck with laggy 10 or 16 player P2P games like Gears of War and Halo 3
Instead of the incredible 7+ million user strong Home online world that every major publisher is cranking out content for we can have retarded little 2D Nintendo Mii avatars that do nothing1

It’s nice to see that the screens are bieng used for something different. A free couch is cool. Maybe just not a Mindfreak one. Lets hope we see more off this but with idk maybe a game like Uncharted 2.

Also, you can’t sit in the movie theater seats and do Full Screen.

Between 145 and 150 million PS1/PS2 owners out there ready to upgrade as the PS3 drops in price.
Can anyone imagine having to search around every year for deals to pay for having the right to play games online like Xbots have to?

I can’t believe Sony is still allocating company resources to Home… I’d be interested to see some sales data that shows how profitable this thing is because I can’t be the only one that sees it as a giant waste of time.

Personally, I just don’t get the appeal of Home at all. It just seems like a huge sausage factory of annoying people that say the rudest stuff possible under the anonymity of their avatar. If a female ever does show up, look out, it’s an all out attack.
I’d rather see Sony’s money and time spent on getting developers to publish a wider variety of games for the PS3. With the exception of a few downloadable games, it seems that the vast majority of PS3 exclusives are FPS games.
If I want to roam around a useless avatarland, I’d go into Second Life. When I use my gaming console, I want great games. Right now, most of my gaming mtime is spent on the 360.
exclusives all fps? check out Little Big Planet, Motorstorm 1 & 2, InFAMOUS, Megal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Valkyria Chronicles, etc…
There are only a couple exclusive fps games on the PS3 that i know of man.

I totally see your points re: Home and I even agree with some.
However what you and I see as frivolous or pointless others see as useful. One shouldn’t begrudge anothers experiance just because it doesn’t fit their own.
I have the opposite experiance as yours, most all my gaming time is spent on my PS3 while my 360 gathers dust. To each their own.
i just filled out a survey from ps and it was about this mind freak. everything i put was dislike . Please sony stop being so worried about things like criss angel mind freak and start working on perfecting voice chat and online play. Criss Angel mind freak are u kidding me stop wasting time on that stuff and give us a better online experience.

I see your point, but you have to realize Home is separate from their games division and more than likely has a different budget which is exclusive to it.
You also should remember that the 360 is trying to create (ultimately) its own version or interpretation of home. Avatars which are forced upon you are being pushed by them too.
Once cross game chat becomes a reality I don’t think these update notices will bother you as much, lol.
